It’s very interesting watching this because most videos tell you to scan for louder frequencies and pull them down which are more often than not the notes that are been sung as demonstrated in this video and in this video we been told to boost those frequencies. I know when we’re notching we’re not necessarily looking for the loudest but more the frequencies that sound unpleasant. I think it’s a vital difference for new comers to know because searching for loud frequencies could lead to just notching down the notes that are been sung rather than notching down those annoying frequencies.
Clarity is really one thing that is giving me a hard time to understand but with yo hand free lesson at least I move a step ahead ... Thanx for yo magnanimous knowledge ... 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿👂🏿👂🏿👂🏿
Like the comment right before this, I gotta say that sibilance technique is absolutely brilliant. Finally tried it last night and it works like a dream. Standing ovation for that idea. Frees up high frequency techniques for the rest of the track without worry-- I bet this idea spreads like wildfire-- thanks so much!
I really like this separate the sibilance to another track technique that goes well with my style of mixing. Actually opens up a whole world of new possibilities. 👍
Your videos are always so helpful. Thank you. I'm going to try the parallel bus with a high pass filter. Hadn't heard of that one before (I don't get out much).
really loving this channel and applying the knowledge to my Logic Pro workflow. Since I do not use Waves or anything iLok it would be wonderful if you could mention alternatives (or free options) to the premium plug-ins when/if they are known.
Wonderful tips as always. Is there any izotope or other module that can achieve the same results as soothe2? Would be nice to see if there is any similar results? Thank you!
DSEQ can do similar things and costs less than half as much as Soothe 2. It has a bit more things you have to set though so can be a bit more confusing.
how do you decide when to use Ozone Exciter or Fab Filter Saturn? One of them is exciter, another one is Saturator but to me those 2 are doing the same job, don`t they?
Thanks for watching! Exciters typically only affect the high frequency range - but with multi-band saturators you can usually create a very similar effect by creating a band on the high frequency range and saturating that range. SageAudio.com
Is the description of Trackspacer backwards? I've never seen Trackspacer placed on the vocal track. It's placed on the competing instrument and the vocal is sidechained to it. Am I missing another way to use it?
Thanks for watching Josh! Yes I got it reversed in the dialogue. I added text to the video to clarify that it was meant to go on the competing track and the vocal should be sidechained - but sorry for the confusion! SageAudio.com
Thanks for watching this one! You just have to zoom in real close before making a cut - other than being time-consuming it's not too bad! SageAudio.com
I like your videos but *DAMN MAN...* please stop spamming people to like, follow, subscribe, join, ect. throughout the entire video, just say it *once* and move on. BTW, I'm not subscribed, but I watch your videos. 😁
I'm i the only one who think that the effects are tested on vocals without the beat or alone not with the beat i mean i did not listened to the difference on the vocals im sorry but its just not clear with the beat ON i mean im sorry im not a proffessional producer but its just not clear the difference with the beat ON

It's definitely helpful! Lets you process in a different way for sure.

you are brave
I love that trick...are you using a specific plugin to do it and if so what one? Or do you have to go into the track and manually slice it up?
@@JohnnyF71 there's no shortcuts for this sort of technique, gotta get your hands dirty and chop it up.
So genius, can't wait to try that out

Please how do you separate Sibilance and what Plugin could be used to do that or is it done manually? Anticipating your reply
Manually

Nectar has a dynamic frequency following EQ.
I'll keep on releasing music and mastering my craft to make my self a better artist

Yep. You are right. I place it on competing track and sidechain voc. I guess it was just a slip of a tongue because their tips are always spot on.

I use trackspacer on the melodies to get the vocals to duck them
bro is there any formula for finding the perfect Pre-delay on reverb for vocals ?
Not sure! Maybe one synced to the BPM

@@sageaudio Ohh ..
@@smallshorts24 kinda. I use a Delay calculator, and works just fine for me.
