  • In this video we take a look at a production prototype of the Dumoreau DM01. This is an integrated bracelet sports watch inspired by Gerald Genta designs. Genta is well known for his iconic designs: the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, IWC Ingenieur, Vascheron Constantin Overseas, Patek Philipe Nautilus (and Patek Aquanaut), and many others. Many microbrands have tried to homage these icons, and in my opinion fail in the execution of design proportions. The Dumoreau DM-01 takes a different approach, with great proportions and unique case details. Now that Tissot have entered the vintage 1970's watch market with the Tissot PRX and Tissot PRX Powermatic 80, is the Dumoreau DM 01 a worthy affordable integrated bracelet watch?
This watch is in Kickstarter until March 10. Find it here:

Welcome to GHOSTwatches Season 2! I’ve created the GHOST Watches channel to share my passion for horology, EDC, and to do my best to share the experience of owning your dream timepiece!
I was not compensated for the review of this prototype watch. I reached out to Dumoreau and asked to borrow it, and they shipped it out on short loan. If you have any questions on anything I may have missed, please reach out in the comments.

A new watch company that's not making the over-represented diver. And, it's a nice design with good specs. Great review, thanks.

haha...yeah. It does get kinda tiring after a while to see wave after wave of "the first diver to..." come from the micros...

Does the bracelet feel like high quality? The links look really well bevelled and it also looks well constructed I’m just curious if it has any sharp edges, if it’s got some heft, etc...

So right now the bracelet and watch are CNC prototype quality. Those machines are less able to produce refined edges, surface transitions, etc. So I don’t have a final “feel” of the watch. With that said, the links do have hard/sharp edges on the bottom non-beveled corners. I imagine Dumoreau have refined their CAD models for final production, as they’ve told me 30% of the watch is getting changed with all they’ve learned off this prototype. This will be good to follow up with them in the Kickstarter comments, I imagine.
As far as heft, it has solid links, but the watch isn’t overbearingly heavy. My main takeaway from a couple days of wear was that it felt substantial in hand, but disappeared on wrist. (Hmm...that’s a great line I should have thought of for the video!)
