As a longtime person who watches in silence, posting is my biggest fear. Mostly because back when I was into social media I got nothing normally so now I'm a hermit with all these skills and no self esteem to sell myself
no offense but noone really cares what you post, atleast not long term. even if you have a post that gets 3 likes, people will forget about it before the night is over. its the double edged sword that exists now

Ay my brother thank you for your pure honesty. Didnt see the video but I think that it's absolutely fine if you dont use social media at all! You know people dont care about your posts, they just want music that makes them happy! Dean Blunt, James Ferraro, Frank Ocean, Jai Paul, Thundercat, even Kendrick dont or did not use social at least for a period, and you can still meet important people and make connections with the right social skills and the right mindset! Remember socials could be dangerous for your mental health ad/or a waste of time, and listen you can reach your goals in your own personal way. Good luck
PS: I personally could not care less about an artist public image or socials. As a listener, I just wanna hear beautiful and unique albums and songs

I lucked out getting off of social media in November 2022 simply because my music was able to grow organically on streaming services. The songs promote themselves and I do literally nothing 😂👍🏾
I also realized I was competing against constantly changing algorithms on social media platforms that are nowhere near as good for artists as they used to be.
It's probably the easiest way to get contacts and is more useful if you want to make a career out of it. I personally hate the music business and view it as a joke most of the time and simply make music for myself and my fanbase.
And to clarify this after 10 years of using social media as a tool for promotion and connections. It definitely helped get me started as a beginner, but nowadays I just stick to youtube lol
