    Wow, what a pain compared to the front wheel bearings! Thanks for the video. DIY's like this help keep these N54 powered beasts on the road!

    3:20 do not use your lug nuts! just messed up the threads on both my wheel hub and lug nuts, need the puller that pairs along with the separator!

    Definitely doing this while refreshing all the other rear end suspension parts at the same time. Thanks for the video! 🙌🏼

    Thanks for the video man! Seems way easier doing it this way vs another video I saw that used a hydraulic press

    This was good until you skipped the part of pressing the hub back in? What did you use to do that?

  • @ThePig2pork
    @ThePig2pork 2 года назад +2

    Was the main hub 36mm bolt reverse thread or normal

  • @JohnSdigi
    @JohnSdigi Год назад +1

    Did your hub have a little wiggle/play before installing the axle and nut? I’ve heard it’s normal and that the nut/axle pulls it tight.

    • @335iN54Enthusiast
      @335iN54Enthusiast  Год назад +1

      Yes a little..... Correct, its normal

      @@335iN54Enthusiast awesome, yeah I decided to just give it a go and the nut pulled it in the final bit. Rock solid now.

    Would this be a similar process for a 2011 bmw335i?

    Is it possible to remove without removing the rear axle bolts?? I can’t get those little ETorx out even with an impact wrench. I’m stuck right now

    • @BassFraud
      @BassFraud 2 года назад +1

      I really don’t want to remove the exhaust again for a little bearing lol

    • @335iN54Enthusiast
      @335iN54Enthusiast  2 года назад +1

      Yes actually you don't have to remove the axle bolts if you bend the knuckle far enough back. Quick tip for you though apply some heat to those torx bolts and they will come out if need be.

      @@335iN54Enthusiast thanks for your feedback! I’ve been working on it all day and finally got the wheel bearing replaced.

  • @jakeyp94

    How did you pull the cv back through the hub? I am STRUGGLING. Lube and brute force has got me so far but no close enough to get the nut on

    • @335iN54Enthusiast
      @335iN54Enthusiast  2 года назад +1

      You must use an axle puller. Ecs tuning sells them. Do not use brute force.

    Is the force of installing the axle nut enough to pull the hub into the bearing, or did you have to use some other means? I assume it's a very tight friction fit.

    • @335iN54Enthusiast
      @335iN54Enthusiast  3 года назад +6

      Sorry about that I couldn't film that part but you actually need to use the same tool to press the hub inside the bearing because yes it is a tight fit. Then the axle can go back into the hub and thats also a snug fit.

  • @robmpulse
    @robmpulse Год назад

    Did you use the same tool that you pressed the bearing in to press the hub in?

  • @g_dawwg

    Excellent!! Other than wiggling the rotor later, how did u know your rear wheel bearing needed replacement? My 2010 e93 wants to veer out of the lane at speed with ANY groove or abnormalities in the freeway

    • @335iN54Enthusiast
      @335iN54Enthusiast  3 года назад +4

      The simple check is to raise the tire off the ground and see if you can wiggle the tire up and down with your hands at 12 and 6 on the tire. Should not be any play...if there is change the bearing. Sounds like you may need an alignment also
