After seeing the live tour in person, I am so proud of these guys throwing down. RWilly is not only amazing but super nice to the kids, see how he jumps the barrier to interact with the crowd. Total pro, inspiring the next generation, that's what it's all about
BMX is slowly evolving into the button-bashing-special-combo-madness of Matt Hoffman's on the PSX, and it's glorious. All we need now is for someone to unlock infinite-balance cheat in real life.
They are quite literally doing the impossible. The words 'crazy' and 'glorious' are indeed the correct ones to use to describe what we are seeing here. Absolutely astonishing.
I'm so proud of these boys that are keeping BMX alive! The things that you dudes do on those bikes are so athletic, imaginative, ballsy, progressive and exciting to watch. My family was poor as hell when I was a kid. I literally built my first BMX piece by piece from parts that I would dig out of the dumpster at our ghettoville apartment complex, starting with a stripped down Kuwahara frame some spoiled kid chucked after mommy bought her baby boy a new Cook Brothers frame. Almost every piece that went into that bike was from the dumpsters and I learned how to put it all together through trial and error, using a rusty pair of pliers, a rock for a hammer, a penny for a flat blade screwdriver and whatever else I could dig up as needed. It took me months to get it it done, but when I finally found the last piece (a Sun Tour neck), I had a beautiful Frankenstein Kuwahara that was worth a million bucks to me! I was only 7 years old when it was finished. In the meantime, I hustled every day after school and on the weekends to earn money for the parts I could not find. I went door to door collecting bottles and cans, worked in the warehouse at my dad's work sorting out buckets of screws and hardware, delivered newspapers and fliers (which was allowed back then for a 7 year old to do), had yard sales to sell stuff that I would dig out of the dumpsters and clean up/fix, anything I could do to make enough money to buy things like my pedals, seat post, new tires and tunes and the pads that were the only things that matched in colour on that bike! After the bike was done, I kept on to earn enough to upgrade the bike, piece by piece by piece, getting matching gold alloy rims with yellow tires, gold alloy seat post, cranks, handlebars, eventually ending up with what to me was the best factory Kuwahara ever made!!! I spent every free moment with that bike at the skateboard bowl and dirt track learning how to do the craziest tricks that I learned from the older kids, made up myself or made up by accident. I still bear the scars from horrible wipe outs to this day from riding with more balls than brains or learning to stay within my abilities 😂 I ended up feeling cocky as hell, thinking I was a rock star with the tricks that I would pull off. When I watch what these guys are doing on their bikes today, I feel truly humbled, in awe of what they come up with and are able to do on the same bikes that I rode all of those years ago! The old, banged up riders from way back in the day salute you true rock stars today that pull off the seemingly impossible, keeping alive what we had such passion for when we were kids, just trying to push the limits and seeing what new things we could come up with every day! I can feel your excitement in the pit of my stomach with every insane trick I watch you pull off in these videos! It is still a bucket list dream to be able to attend one of these events, being that old dude in the audience with his mouth hanging open in awe with every crazy trick pulled off in every event 😂 Hopefully someday. That trip would take a hell of a lot of hustling though 😅 I've got a big fist bump for all of y'all if I ever get there boys!
Well done to Gecko and Harley for giving it their best out there. R Willy holding down for Qld as always, comin with insane tricks to blow people's minds.
Dawid Godziek's commitment was awesome, he's halfway through, misses his bars, and keeps going trying to grab his bars. Mad respect. Hope he pulled up okay and all the athletes walked away healthy
The first couple runs were 720 frontflip or corked 1080.. not 1440 later in the comp the riders were throwing 1080 frontflilp or corked 1440, as Todd stately correctly then.
Not only does Ryan already do everything. But then he does everything. Ryan wins no matter what the score. He's the sole reason half the athletes even have a clue.
I love watching these amazing athletes knowing that my son is 14 and he's naturally talented. He's got the drive and already envisions himself being a Champion rider! Proud mama.. that's me 🙌💯🚴
I am soooo about that!!! Sure landing wasn’t perfect but with the triple back no hand … come on .. rolling away safely and all the way with control…. 88??? Really !?!? That’s a fucking 93 at least
A triple backflip got third place. A Triple Backflip got third place! We are in a golden age of action sports and big air tricks. These athletes are unbelievable
I'm glad I'm not the only one getting bothered by wrong trick naming in every major event. They should really learn the flips finally (a 1440 is not a frontflip 1080, a nosedived 720 is not a cashroll, etc)
Allen…. 🙏 glad you are okay, wish you were more recognized for podium.. if not 1st for the wildness triple back no hand!?!? So sad judges fucked him over. I think everyone killed it and am so happy with the performance from each wild athletes. 🙌 keep rollin
You can tell the dude rides a scooter with that opening 1080 though the way his posture is when he rotates to a perfect landing. Not the gnarliest trick out there but damn good form into the landing. Nice
lol imagine in 1990, when hoffman lands the first flair, that in 2022 someone would do a no handed triple backflip and the score would only be an 88 hahaha
1st Place Run: 15:33 Ryan Williams
2nd Place Run: 11:41 David Godziek
3rd Place Run: 24:23 Pat Casey
4th Place Run: 14:19 Jaie Toohey

@Chewy Tortle Good catch. I accidentally timestamped it for 22 instead of 24 minutes. Fixed now, thanks.

😂 for real. I never thought I'd see stuff like this being done when I was young. Absolutely crazy
They are quite literally doing the impossible. The words 'crazy' and 'glorious' are indeed the correct ones to use to describe what we are seeing here. Absolutely astonishing.
That trick Ryan did should have been a perfect 10. That was sick!!

@@Shrivellednutsack Don't do it's a scam DON'T do it
I love how supportive Ryan is of everyone.
Go into this knowing who will take it home, but it is always deserved, that man is insane.
This is so sick!! Without a doubt the best thing happening down under!! The entire event was Awesome!

Ryan deserves every single thing he gets. Amazing person amazing athlete
Exactly. What he and Pat Casey is doing for BMX is amazing.
@@girtsfridbergs6002 it annoys me to see him get hated on because half of the things he does on bmx, no one else In the world can do

You mad lads are all appreciated.
Purest entertainment.

Yeah not your everyday tricks definitely insanely hard tricks to do
You're right about that 1440, it's still hard to count when it happens, it's easier if you can rewind and use slow motion.
That was infuriating. It took until godziak doing a real cork 1440 for them to start calling it right.
Infuriating agreed. A pro announcer should be able to tell the difference between 3 and 4 rotations.

@@justinmckean2022 that a winning trick. Those judges are weird
It was crazy but I understand why it didn't get first because the landing was iffy. If you watch close his toes actually dragged on the rez.

That's very dangerous Ryan Williams, I like that I love BMX best trick.

That was crazy if we forget the commentators that are wrong on the tricks so often 😅😂
I agree they kept calling the 720 frontflip a 1080 frontflip or cork 1440. They were all mind blown until Godziak threw an actual cork 1440.
casters: "FRONTFLIP (the actual trick but wrong)". And in an bike flip you have your hand on the bar.
Yea, just play music next time
I'm glad I'm not the only one getting bothered by wrong trick naming in every major event. They should really learn the flips finally (a 1440 is not a frontflip 1080, a nosedived 720 is not a cashroll, etc)

That front flip nothing front bike flip from R. Willy was fucking insane! That’s probably my favourite trick that Willy throws
Harley got robbed, that triple flip no hander despite being abit loose was definitely worth a spot on the podium
I mean ryan.. what can I say.. what a performance man.. lets go bby 😎😎😎😎😎 first place again
Smashed it boys 👏
I think these riders are having more fun at the end when they hit the crash mat 😂
Amazing tricks too 👌
Very cool worldview, respect to these guys!,)❤😮😊
So many bikers pulling off tricks that were unimaginable just years ago. Probably the most tight competition in all of X-sports.
Ryan Williams must watch this like “Damn, I did Most of this first” lol
He has definitely elevated the game
No one can touch Ryan, he is the undisputed champ!
R - Willie is a Fu@kin BEAST 💯💯
God like move by Ryan to win it , amzing

it was a 720 front flip not 1080
