So glad to see the passion still burning here, some sick skills!! . My kids are now getting a bit older so getting some free time back and want to get back into some cutting... Can anyone recommend a decent mixer that isn't gonna break the bank? Cheers. 🤙
GrandWizzard Theodore is known for inventing the Scratch. GM Flash is indeed widely acknowledged as the inventor of Cutting. Big up to both of them for their important contributions to Turntablism!
@def creator When you say "Scratching" - do you mean the cueing of the record, with headphones on, that Disco DJs did that no body heard? Like Pete DJ Jones (RIP) meant when he claimed to have created Scratching? Across the board - pioneers and legends alike acknowledge Flash for cutting and Theodore for scratching. I have done extensive research with those who were there who founded and contributed to Hip Hop culture. Many say the first time they ever saw Scratching was when Theodore introduced it at a park jam. In fact Jazzy Jay said he went back home and spent all night trying to Scratch. In this modern day, when we say Scratching we mean what GW Theodore invented - "the technique of moving a record back and forth on a turntable to produce percussive or rhythmic sounds" that everyone can hear, not just the DJ cueing up a record. Of course new discoveries that change Hip Hop history are always revealed. Me? I go by the general consensus of what legends and pioneers say. Peace and blessings.
Often times, there are two definitions or understandings of one word - in this case - Scratching. I learned that when Pete DJ Jones claimed to have invented Scratching but what he meant was cueing up the record with headphones on. As I understand it, a Disco DJ would never allow that sound to be heard over the system while he/she was spinning.
The video is excellent with first generation BBoy and Hip Hop historian Cholly Rock saying that GW Theodore invented the Scratch, saying that Bam never said he founded the Spades, etc. The title of the video is misleading.
The claim about Bam founding the Spades came from some arm chair historian on wikipedia - where ANYONE can change the history anytime they want. He told me personally that he never claimed to have founded the Spades. I can't even look at wikipedia for all the unfactchecked lies.
Die elimination round hab ich zum Spaß zwei Stunden vor Abgabe eingeschickt hab eigentlich nicht gedacht das ich ins Finale komm 😂 Finalvideo ist mit direct Audio 🙌🏻

DJ Kaito From Japan is Champ for me! @ 29mins
1. Ordoeuvre (France)
2. Marvel (Greece)
3. DJ Rookie (Germany)
@def creator depends on taste - he switched it up and kept it varied - that is more interesting than someone just flowing continuously
ordoeuvre 1st is a solid pick for sure
