I saw these amazin ppl open for Painkiller @ Slims in the 90s. It was so good that all the old jazz improv vets from PK came out in the audience and stared hard, just like we were doing. After the Painkiller set Invisbl got on stage with legends of improv music and CRUSHED. We all had chills watching it. I love you guys, everything you do, and want to thank you for repping the Bay like heroes.
Shortkut on the drums, D-Styles on the treble/bass, Q-Bert on the phrase scratching...these guys complement each other so well. ISP never should have separated.
ISP had a non-dj infilTRAITOR. Tried to make it all about business. Not saying any names...but he was all about the $$$. See, when artists hook up with folks like that...it's good for a bit but bad for a long long time. Honestly, it was probably a good thing because D styles really took off after that and ShortKut threw so many clubs and parties all over California both northern and southern. He is so versatile! Mike went and did Beastie boys etc. Skratch academy was created and all the scratch transcription techniques etc. NOW scratching is it's OWN THING and a force to be reckoned with both as an art and as a powerful influence in digital software AND actual hardware creation. So on the brighter side...going and doing a long stint of solo projects probably was the BEST thing that ever happened to turntablism!
EMINEM brought me here with his 2020 song Marsh "Been fire bitch, I can't outrap Reynolds A pad and a pen'll be great but a napkin'll do Return of the whack sicko Head spinnin' like Invisible Skratch Piklz Yeah, Shady's back, see the bat signal"
The legend of truntablelis turntable battle n creator qbert d style too he is nasty on his scratch truntablelis too n short cut they be around for years n got better true out the years all of them specially qbert crazy style my respect to all of them hall of fame of the truntablelis world
+dirty01992 I've always loved D-Styles. The violin part in Razorblade Alcohol Slide (22:15) is still one of the illest hooks in turntabism. And he's really probably the only person that could pull off the call and respond section of that song with Q because he can match Q's style (especially at the time the album was made), anyone else would ruin that song. Even today we would be hard pressed to find someone that could fill the part D-Styles did in Wave Twisters. Shorkut though, i've always been kinda neutral about him. He's kinda like filler. He's his stabs are fast and clean but don't think he is irreplacable. Also he relies on stabs and transforms too much. Other djs could fill his part and we probably wouldn't notice.
djsk1200 Haha! No no no. He doesn't suck. He's solid in what he does but he just doesn't have the range of ability as Q or D. Still though, I wouldn't want to go up agaist Short in a battle.
+djsk1200 Shortkut is sooo funky.. he can do everything.. cutting, beat juggling, mixing.. with so much precision.. One of the best ever ! Love is style !
Bought 13th Floor yesterday. I dig the performance version of Bobby Trap more than the album version. More of the "Prepare!" cuts made it feel more like they were issuing a challenge. Still quite sick. Wish the last song was on the album though.
Use both dude they both have unique enough features it's work rocking both, I use serato on two and plug that in the aux of my z2 and remapped one turntable to control A and B using midi just one button and it swaps faders and deck selected I use this for the loop recorder and beat slicer and make some crazy shit
Are you serious you put skratch Bastid?!..I mean he’s good don’t get me wrong..but these pioneers taught him everything..remember that…isp along Mike created this shit
@@youalreadyknow8087 I mean, I still consider Skratch Bastid one of the best. He mixes it up with Jazzy Jeff and other great big heads. MMM is IMO the GOAT. He did things that nobody ever thought of. Don't get me wrong, but ISP wouldn't have even existed without him.
"Q-BART WE LOVE YOU!"
+cosaadeezz *QBert
Q-bart*
+cosaadeezz his name is Q-Bert, not "Q-Bart" 😄😄😄
Tariq... it's Q-Bart. Listen to the first few seconds of the recording

Some of the best djs ever of all time insanely talented much love and god bliss up thanks so much for real

Q-Bert is insane but please don't forget D-Styles' unique Art of Scratching & Shortkut's musicality (MusiQuality)....

That last bit is a famous routine they did back in the 90s
Dopeeee Djs 9:59 até 13:04 niceeee
I heard of isp from a USB mag front cover
For years I looked for them as
Invincible scratch pikelz
Then found
The USB mag was late 90s early 2000s
11:15 Qubert! I coud imagine that coiming out of hi mouth. What a skill and style.. Gotta love him
Their go those Pilipinos from the Bay again🤓
ça tue
"Noob" question..
Q-Bert CrossF is inverted, but not the faders, right ?
This kind of mixer is able to be set pretty like you want ?
yes, the crossfader of qbert is in reverse or "hamster" and the mixer "traktor z2" can be configured like this
@@djnazhet Thank you !
SICKKKK ;)
In unity is power
Cant wait for this album to drop!
hands down best shit
Do they do Funerals?
He should mix tracks with the video game sounds of Qbert it would be awesome to listen to him mix that !!!!!!!!
Yes I'm sure in his 20 plus year career he has never done that
Q Bert is the reason why I won’t switch over to Serato anymore LoL. The z2 mixer is one of the best if not the best battle mixer I’ve used so far .
Use both dude they both have unique enough features it's work rocking both, I use serato on two and plug that in the aux of my z2 and remapped one turntable to control A and B using midi just one button and it swaps faders and deck selected I use this for the loop recorder and beat slicer and make some crazy shit
Einfach krank.
flowing like smart water.
29 Hardwell and David Guetta fans in here hating.
🔥👌🏼❤️
Somewhere, an acapella to the Symphony exists.
Almost the world's best djs. You also need Mixmaster Mike and Skratch Bastid up there.
Are you serious you put skratch Bastid?!..I mean he’s good don’t get me wrong..but these pioneers taught him everything..remember that…isp along Mike created this shit
