The aluminum frame German p38's are selling at J& G in Arizona for $429.95. I agree with the rifles and hand guns you did cover the list of rifles I have collected over the years. I started collecting back in 1968 when I was 18 yrs old I am 74 now. The rifles and hand guns I bought have gone up so high my collection is worth at least 6 figures now.
Same. My $20k investment in milsurps over the past 30 years has grown to well over 6 figures in value. I just sold a Garand for 3X what I paid for it 20 yrs ago. That was a friend's & family price. Half retail.
Love the channel. I'm in my 50s and the prices are insane. I remember buying a Soviet SKS for $99 in the early 90s. The Chinese variant was $79 I think. Mosins could be had for $49. Crazy.
I have a bit more time on you, but I do remember the good old days of mil surplus. I did not have a bunch in those days, but I did pick up a good bit of really nice collectable ones. I bought CZ-52 pistols for $99 each. They came with a holster, cleaning rod and extra mag. But those days are gone. Too bad. I live with what I have now. not much collecting anymore.
I worked as a “Government Civilian “ in the Middle East in the early 1990’s… I traded a penthouse magazine for a Russian Tokarev two magazines and a box of ammunition. It’s still over there, buried in the desert in a metal box wrapped in oil cloth and soaked in oil. So just in case I end up in that particular shit box again I have a firearm.
A pistol that deserves mention is the Beretta M1934. A bunch of them with 1970's dates have recently hit the market for less than 300. Solid pistols and .380 is about as easy to find as 9mm.
In Poland, it's quite easy to pick up a PM-63 (converted to semi-auto, but otherwise unchanged, so an SBR with folding stock, and foregrip) for about "three-fiddy". And there are stil plenty out there that are still in factory condition - that's how I got mine - made in 1975 (at the end of production), packed away, and never issued. Same with the P-64 pistols (1973 production, sent to the Police Academy in Słupsk, Poland, never issued, spent 50 years in storage, then sold as surplus in factory condition - zero holster wear, pristine, chrome-lined barrel).
Howdy Readi my CZ 52 is one of my fav's. My Fav rifle is my SKS i bought 25 years ago $125 brand new. Only fired one time. THANKS for the great review.
I’d say the absolute king of milsurp bargains right now are any of the post m89 Schmidt-Rubins. The quality is absolutely through the roof and they are extremely accurate. It’s the kind of gun, if they made the actions today in sporter rifles, it would be multiple thousands of dollars a pop easy. The old m89 is high quality but it’s chambered for the older version of the 7,5 Swiss and some other oddities. I’d be happy to have one as a collector though. There are a number of Beretta handguns out there pretty cheap too.
I got a 96/11 Schmidt-Rubin rifle a couple years ago for $460 and TODAY I still see a couple places selling them for the exact same price. Yes, these are amazing rifles, and it's incredible that the price on them is still THIS reasonable.
Great video I just got 2 smle 22 training barreled receives for 40$ each and I got a drill rifle for parts and working on putting the first one together that my project also I got a type 99 barred action for 40 and I got it all together I made a few videos but I’m not as good at making videos as you thanks for keeping up with all the pricing and letting us know when new stuff pops up
This is funny to me. I bought a Mosin-Nagant a few years ago. They were going for $150. Cabela's had them on sale for $100. I had 40 Cabela's bucks on my credit card, so I got it for $60. It was the full package as well. It had the bayonet, pouches, cleaning kit, and sling. It is a 1942 production gun. So, when I see the current prices, I just have to laugh.
Just picked up an ac 43 # matching original P-38 for $800.00 3rd variant , only 20,000 produced - couldn't say NO , for what the current market is bearing ✔️
Thanks 👍 Unfortunately, I during the last four years I was forced to sell off about 80% of my collection just to pay bills and keep the family fed! I really can't complain because I purchased most of my military surplus firearms before 1990 and paid less than a hundred dollars each and with the current prices I did alright! I would have much rather been able to keep them and pass them down to the grandkids as I had intended! Life happens! God bless y'all
Depending on your skillset, I recently finished refurbing a SMLE (1939 manufacture) from RTI as a $99 Class C w/out bolt thrashed and trashed. $250-300 worth of parts and a LOT of hard work, I now have a MAGNIFICENT shooting SMLE (the barrel was worn, but fine... literally solid w/cosmo when I got it) that's worth probably $800-$1k. Mind you I'm a 55 year old master gunsmith w/20 years Depot Level experience. The next project on the list is a 1898 Spanish Mauser (free, donated to me from a reader of my blog) and then a Lee Enfield Mod One, Mark 4 to be done the same way. Class B w/bolt/mag and even a sling from RTI for $399 I believe.
The SKS secrets I will keep to myself, lol. Mosin's of any style are a must buy if under $500 even if refurbished but original matching numbers. Any 8mm Mauser of any country origin are a must buy.
There are 3 SKSs at my local shop for under $500 and a VZ24 with bayonet for around $400. I did pick up a Romanian Tokarev last year for under $300 as well as a FEG Hi Power clone for about $500. I also snagged a M91 Carcano Carbine for $200, which I am looking to clean up and try out this year.
Have to be careful with Yugo SKSs. Probably half imported were "Shooter Grade" with sewer pipe bores. Century Arms was selling them for $50. Which would have been a good deal if new SKS barrels were readily available. Rarely do new barrels make it into the country.
@@donwyoming1936 There are literally hundreds of thousands of Yugos in the US that are mint condition. I remember like 6-8 years ago they were $300 and like new in cosmo
Around September of 2024, this very popular mom and pop hunting and outdoor store opened there second location, and my girlfriend and I went down opening weekend to look around and see what they had. The guy had a bunch, I'm talking over half a dozen, 30s,40s, and 50s browning A5s. I knew I was going to be buying a new handgun soon for EDC, so I couldn't justify spending $800 on one. Then I saw it, he had a sportorized type 99 arisaka, which kinda sucks about the stock but oh well. I've never really cared about the arisaka much, but something called me to it. Despite being soortorized in the stock, it had a matching bolt and action, and a compelte mum. I figured out it was from between 43-44, and I only paid $140 for it. Haven't shot it yet, mainly cause I want to take it to a smith and make sure it's ok first and I haven't done that cause of being busy. But even if it's nit safe, it'll be a nice wall hanger
I'm in Canada, I say a sporterized 1917 Enfield for $350 in a local store, I don't have the money right now for it but as soon as I do I'm getting it. It just needs a new stock to unsporterize it, the sights and stuff are all original
I paid 450 for a numbers matching non refurbished m96 swedish mauser built in 1899 had some finish wear and dings in the stock but everything is solid. I picked it up at a gun show this past September. Deals can still be found you just have to dig even if it's deeper than usual 😑

The Yugo & Spanish Mausers are probably the best option for getting nice condition rifles under $500. Not as slick as a German Mauser, but are often in much better condition than surplus K98ks.
2 pistols that come to mind, may not be 'MIL-SURP', but rather L.E. surp. would be the STAR "BM" and the FEG Pa-63. I think they are still both under $500.00, but,I don't know if any armies used them? And,not to brag,I picked both of mine up for around $100.00. The Pa-63 is hard to reload for, because it throws brass everywhere! Picking up the empty brass is tough! Can never find all of them???Also, you can get a spring kit for the Pa-63,which improves
I remember buying nagant rifles for 75 dollars and a sks for 40 dollars. I bought 4 skss for 150 dollars in 1988. My dad asked me why I bought 4. I told him. “Someday these are going to be 700 dollars each and I plan on having sons. I did have two sons and both of them have a sks. None of us have fudded them. In fact my youngest son kept his in the box, packed in cosmolene. My oldest son killed his first deer with his in 2009. I still have one, unopened in the box still packed in Chinese wax paper and cosmolene. My biggest problem is I have two grand sons. I don’t know which one to give it to. I’m leaning towards giving my oldest grandson the unpacked one and my youngest grandson my rifle. I don’t shoot it much and plenty of better weapons. Yet my youngest son just got married and he and his wife are planning on having kids. So I could possibly have more grandsons. I guess I’m going to have to figure out something to do for them.
I can easily find a mosin nagant for $250-300 at various auctions. As well as Chinese sks for sub $450. So they are out there if you know where to look
Most Mosins are refurbished with sewer pipe bores. Really need to be careful when buying them. The best bores are often found on the Finish capture M91/30s that were never messed with. The 1941 Izzy's are typically rough on the outside, but often have mirror bores.
I have a Norinco 213 in 9mm. Its a cool Tokarev copy basically but its a little hard to find stuff for it, i was lucky to find a spare magazine for it. I think I paid around $350 for the pistol.
VZ-52 is a great gun just don’t use the Decocker with a live round in the chamber. Also to anyone looking at a M44 Mosin or even rarer M38 id highly recommend they are amazing and so fun. Lastly though I picked up a British No4 Mk1/2 and for me paying slightly over $500 it is a phenomenal rifle and for what I payed it’s one of my favorites
Deals are still out there if you're extremely patient and don't stop searching. I pulled off the greatest milsurp find of my life last year when I scored a 1917 Webley Mark VI with an unshaven cylinder, no import marks, holster, belt, lanyard and 550 rounds of Fiocchi ammunition all for a grand. Factoring in for ammo costs (about $60 a box) I basically robbed the guy and got the revolver for sub ~400. Never getting that lucky again!
I got a big gun show coming up on the 25th over here in Arizona I don't plan to buy any guns but I plan to buy parts if I can find some the affordable ones are junk😅
My advice - don't buy JUNK , mismatched , royal tiger etc. if you pay attention and don't get anxious , you can come across the deals - don't be afraid to make an offer , as quality will be the best investment ✔️🥴
I've got a few decent rifles from RTI. 3 Carcano K31 K11 Everything: Serial matches. Cleaned up nice. Complete firearm. You do have to watch imo, but sometimes they have decent buys.
My first handgun purchase was an 1948 FB marked Polish TT33 for $500 years ago, probably paid too much at the time, but they are extremely hard to come by, even then.
Yes there're some good deals out there but you have to be extremely careful on what you get they are used firearms from the military many of them have been used extensively some have been used very little
What is point of buying surplus pistols chambered for not cheap to shoot 7.62x25 or 9mm Makarov and surplus carbines loosing value after mounting a scope, tricky in itself, while Italian-made Franchi Momentum can be had for $300 and all-stainless CZ75 Turkish copy for $400??
I have had reasonable luck with them. My worst was perhaps my Hakim, which came with a case head separated round in the chamber and a stock that has been absolutely destroyed. I was able to buy a new stock, but have not attempted to shoot it. I have 2 amazing Enfield No1 Mk3s I picked up for 149 from them. I am highly happy with those.
I’m either in the wrong state or surrounded by good examples because I’ve only found one example of any of these $500 or under. Everything else is $600 or more.

I had one of those Russian 1911 years ago if I come across one of those Again I'm getting it
Deals are still out there if you're extremely patient and don't stop searching.
Last time I was this early ULI was having Ethiopians wire wheel receivers.
I got a big gun show coming up on the 25th over here in Arizona I don't plan to buy any guns but I plan to buy parts if I can find some the affordable ones are junk😅
Old Western Scrounger has grade B Chinese SKS rifles for $400. Good option if you’re local and just want a shooter’s grade example.
The Tokarev is good for bear defense 🤠.
My advice - don't buy JUNK , mismatched , royal tiger etc. if you pay attention and don't get anxious , you can come across the deals - don't be afraid to make an offer , as quality will be the best investment ✔️🥴
I've got a few decent rifles from RTI.
3 Carcano
K31
K11
Everything:
Serial matches.
Cleaned up nice.
Complete firearm.
You do have to watch imo, but sometimes they have decent buys.
I bought a CZ 52 in 2010 for $99, crazy.
I like the Yugoslavian M48 Mauser.
This isn't technically a milsurp but I picked up a really nice Norinco SKS-M(factory AK mag SKS) for $400 recently in very good shape.
My first handgun purchase was an 1948 FB marked Polish TT33 for $500 years ago, probably paid too much at the time, but they are extremely hard to come by, even then.
I can't believe CZ52's have doubled in price. They were so common for $250 or less.
The mauser rifles chambered in 7mm are usually under 500.00 dollars and still plentiful and some examples in excellent condition.
Where do you usually buy these at? Any good websites?
Lee-Enfield, great rifle.
M70 is under $230 at a few places last I checked. Pristine condition.
I bought my 2 Russian Mosins (rifle and carbine) from Big 5 Sports in the early 2000's for the whopping price of $79.99 each lol
13:09 to see homie take a shell case to the eye and not flinch.
Haha no eye pro
I have a hard time finding ammo for my K31 swiss
Don’t pass out the secret on the Turkish mausers or span mausers there my gems I have so many

What happened with the squib load from about 30 day's ago?
i saw an ishapore 2a for less than 5 hundos at the greenville sc big show ....
do a video on the rifle bayonets for them……
I bought my Mosin M44 in 2002 for 70$. It was like new made in 1948
Although its not milsurp the Beretta 84 BB is three-hundo at PSA.
Yes there're some good deals out there but you have to be extremely careful on what you get they are used firearms from the military many of them have been used extensively some have been used very little
Where would a type I Japanese carcano be on this list?
What is point of buying surplus pistols chambered for not cheap to shoot 7.62x25 or 9mm Makarov and surplus carbines loosing value after mounting a scope, tricky in itself, while Italian-made Franchi Momentum can be had for $300 and all-stainless CZ75 Turkish copy for $400??
I never got into Tokarevs for some reason.
If your looking for an albaian mokas raifus has some coming in
You can roll the dice and pick up guns from RTI. (The question is gotta ask yourself; Do feel lucky, well do ya?)
The juice isn’t worth the squeeze imo@@infamousjustice7083
Ammo is where you yanks have us beat. Milsurpvrifles over here in the EU are pretty reasonable but ammo is through the roof.
Lol my guy pouring out Chinese cooking wine
I’m either in the wrong state or surrounded by good examples because I’ve only found one example of any of these $500 or under. Everything else is $600 or more.
I can't believe the type 99 is still under 500!
Ammo being 40-50+ per box is a big part of why they are so cheap
Ammo for sure 👆
I haven't seen a decent Type 99 under $700 in 25 years.
How ya doing, Brother
Who in their right mind would shoot a Mil Surp without eye protection?
I was thinking that too
Get a star 9mm with an Xtra mag for under $200
👍🏽👍🏽
Why you letting the cat out of the bag on my vz 52? Now the prices are gonna skyrocket!
