Pete, thanks for attending our event. We started this event 12 year’s ago as a memorial for a local farmer and avid puller Dorr Reynolds and added my father Dave Becker to it when he passed away. Any profits from our pulls go to Sempronius Fire Department or the Moravia FFA. We strive to make this a fun and entertaining event for spectators and pullers.
As a farm wife I really enjoyed this video. Your commentary helped me understand what was going on with the horsepower, cylinders turbo, speed class, rpm's, weight, stock, tires, strengthen the crank etcand and wonder if they would give you a microphone to help others. Change is not good as it is taking us away from what we small farmers need to survive. It was good to hear your son liked the old tractors best:)
I cant believe u made those green guys happy Pete. After i see so many negative comments saying u only like the red tractors. I hope those green guys r happy now. Have a good day. 😉
Hi Pete! My name is Callie and I'm 27 years old, for the past few years since college I've been trying to figure out what the heck to do with my life. My dad recommended your channel to me when I expressed an interest in farming/homesteading as my dream job. I came on here to say that I absolutely love your videos!!! I watch your new videos on weekend mornings and often have you on in the background; I always let the ads play through, I appreciate what you do and I hope it makes a difference!! Not only do I learn so much about truly sustainable agriculture, I also feel as if you, Hilarie, and the kids are dear friends! My dad recently gifted me your book, A Year and a Day On Just a Few Acres, and you have very quickly become my biggest role model. Thank you so much for sharing your journey and inspiring this future farmer! :)
HI Pete. Loved it...Hahaha. .."If that don't send chills down your spine, nothing will!". Thanks for taking us to the tractor pull Pete! It was great to see some old tractors out there pulling!
I’ll be honest with you Pete didn’t care too much about tractors until you taking the time to break it down and showing us the views of the points of how to keep a great i instrument going. I’m enjoying this trip and thanks to you and your wife and your children we get to see and understand farm life.
We had tractor pulls in Pompey NY during the empire farm days this year they r trying to get more of them this next year it is called Smoking in the Hills
Ahhh, memories!! Thanks for sharing. I grew up not close, but not too far away from there in Greene, NY. I grew up working on a dairy farm. We used to go to Tractor and Truck pulls whenever they were around. Again, thanks for the memories.
And we see crazy farm boys are in every part off this Great Land! Love this Land, Long live the America we all love. Thank you Pete for posting this video of a Fun time for rural America.
The antique tractor club I belong to in Michigan has a dead weight and transfer sled pull one weekend every month from April to September. During their show in August they pull all 3 days of the show. The chairman of the transfer sled pulls reported over 2000 hooks this past summer. Antique tractor pulling is alive and well in mid Michigan!
Love your program immensely. My husband now watches with me. You have a very smooth calming voice very enjoyable to listen to your memories and information. I grew up on my mothers home place a very small simple farm with my Aunt and Grandmother with much help from uncles, neighbors.
Pete, my local county fairground hosts a pull each summer. This summer (after watching your channel for over a year) was so much more educated about the tractors and even struck up a conversation with a local FFA teacher who talked me through a Farmall M their group restored for a project and they had there on display. Thanks for your channel and for your positive attitude.
After I went to college, Dad traded for a JD 80 and JD 730, both wide front ends. Someone else commented how big the pistons and cylinders were. Something like 6” diameter and a foot long for the piston. Massive things.
@@8tomtoms8 Pretty close! We had to replace one in the 730; the lower skirt had actually broken off. We discovered that changing the oil when pieces fell into our catch pan. Dad thought I’d dropped the plug, but when I showed him I had it in my hand, we knew something was desperately wrong. The tractor still worked, I guess all the pieces just broke up and sat down in the oil pan. Tough old tractor!
Pete, I had a chance to drive a modified pulling tractor not at a pull, but in a plowing bee of all things.... A friend has a 1936 John Deere A decked out for pulling. It has a special drawbar, weight racks, and a loooong weight arm out front to hold the front end down. The other thing it has is a bored out block with oversize pistons. A normal '36 A specs out at about 24 hp, this one puts out over 70 hp. I was plowing with a JD No.44 two-bottom plow, and I nearly had twin rooster tails of dirt flying behind me!
Thats awsome you videoed a tractor pull..... my dad n I pulled for years.....we had alot of fun with a a Farmall 400. With a smallblock Chevy 400 in it.... bout 500 h.p.....fun....as Allways god bless you Pete..ur family...and ..ur farm!!!
Great to see you and your children. I agree, tractor pulls, part of the great Americana. I noticed the advertisement for MacFadden on the sled. The are located about 5 minutes from me. Bless.
At the Armada Fair in Michigan, they had a garden tractor class too. Really cool what they do with those tractors. Tractor-truck pulls are always fun to watch.
Thank you for doing the videos you do my son loves your channel as I am enjoying watching it with him. As tractor pullers I agree with just about everything you say except for if it’s perfect running out of traction and power at the same time I hate running out of horsepower lol. We have a show this weekend that is probably one of my favorite tractor polls mmogta in Oakley mi. Buckley is the same weekend but north and west of Oakley. We have a different tractor pull type at Oakley that is on concrete… lots of fun and $$$ doesn’t matter as much. Thanks for putting in the time for our enjoyment!
Our little town fair in Glastonbury CT. USA had oxen pulls! They pulled a stone boat with bars of concrete added each time. They had wt classes from small calves in their training yokes to huge experienced teams. And some kids were competing. I think they also had some tractors but I wasn't interested in them. They were too loud. This was in the 60s and 70s. A neat memory. Thanks. :-)
Hi Pete. Very nice upload, the food prices were very cheap. I like your comment at 12.40, this tractor is as rare as hen’s teeth. Here in Oz we are bit rougher, we’d say, as rare as rocking horse s#*t. Cheers from Oz.
Pete - I live in NW Ohio near Bowling Green, also known as “Pull Town”. I am very familiar with tractor pulls and the insane amount of mechanical mayhem that goes along with them.
Uncle Pete you are a pro, waw great job I like your farms, like your knowledge on the tractor, please I want to become your friend and learn more farms and more tracks.
County fairgrounds around here all have truck and tractor pulls. Our county fair brings in the semis as well, both a stock class and a modified class. Being a former truck driver that is my favorite to watch.
Good Family fun use to go with my Dad back in the day when grew up in Indiana, now he is gone and I live in Florida haven't been to one since thanks for the video.
I have seen a lot of tractor pulls but I definitely learned a few more things about the art and science of pulling from this video. Glad you had a chance to take a few hours off and make an outing out of it.
there are a good amount of antique tractor shows around MN and most of those have Tractor pulls with them. There are tractor pull clubs that people belong to here.
hi Pete and family, this is in response to your comment about people pulling with some things without wheels, my great granddad pulled with a team of Morgan horses and they pulled huge logs.
Great video. I love going to truck and tractor pulls. Glade to see you had a couple of the kids with you and your dad. A great family outing. From down here in cajon country stay safe and good luck.
Thanks for the video Pete. At our pull in Western NY, where we have six days of pulling and garden tractors included per year, we use a dead pull sled or boat which is very basic. This system is used at horse pulls and is used at many tractor pulls. There can be a disadvantage to letting air out of tires because it lowers the draw hitch and you can loose purchase on the sled. Some people have gone to recommended pressures because of this. Our pulls are very popular and bring extra money to our antique equipment club. Keep up the very interesting videos Pete.
"I think this tractor would do better with a few more cylinders." Love it! As a Farmall fan and sometimes tractor puller (1947 H), I love to see red tractors do well in tractor pulls.
Pete, Thanks for sharing this experience. I live in NW Wisconsin now and we've seen a renaissance in tractor pulls in our area over the last 10 years or so. This past summer we probably could have attended a tractor pull twice per month (Jun-Aug - After planting and before harvest) - within an hour's drive. Contrary to your background, I grew up with Green and Yellow, so really enjoy seeing the old (20 and 30 series) JD's. Lastly, when I would go to these in the the late 60's and 70's, I use to see the Minneapolis Moline guys hopping up and down on the rear extended steel seats to get what they all thought were a few extra feet. Thanks for rekindling some fond memories for me.
Thanks for sharing this. Love the old iron pulling. I remember going to antique tractor pulls where the sled was a flat sheet of iron and as it went down the track, bystanders stepped onto the sheet until the tractor stopped! Then, to add additional weight, they'd put 55 gallon drums of cement onto it. Good times! Not OSHA approved, though. Blessings from Ohio!
Pete, thanks for attending our event. We started this event 12 year’s ago as a memorial for a local farmer and avid puller Dorr Reynolds and added my father Dave Becker to it when he passed away. Hi Shawn, it was great meeting you at the pull! It was such a good time and a well-run event. Thank you for all your work!
Great memories of watching the horse & tractor pulls with my grandfather at the local country fair as a kid. 😊
As a farm wife I really enjoyed this video. Your commentary helped me understand what was going on with the horsepower, cylinders turbo, speed class, rpm's, weight, stock, tires, strengthen the crank etcand and wonder if they would give you a microphone to help others.

Hi Callie, I'm glad you found the channel! Living on the land is very rewarding and I'm glad you're heading down that path. Best of luck!
I love tractor pulls. The biggest John Deere 2 cylinder is the 830. 6 1/8" bore x 8" stroke. Thanks for taking us there.
Looks like the john deere did just fine without all them extra cylinders Pete😁
❤️ I’m from a small farming county in Ohio and our county fair has truck and tractor pulls every year. A favorite!💕
Thanks Pete, I really enjoy watching the tractor pull videos.
HI Pete. Loved it...Hahaha. .."If that don't send chills down your spine, nothing will!". Thanks for taking us to the tractor pull Pete! It was great to see some old tractors out there pulling!
Pete, just what you need for "Just a Few Acres Farm".
I honestly watched some of this video and then sent it on to my husband. He'll enjoy it more. Be well.
Slowly going through your older videos and really enjoying each one. This was fun to watch!
Your best video yet, in my humble opinion.
Class of '83 College of Engineering, HOOK'EM!

Hi Pete, interesting event but I guess it is not my cup of tea. I like 👍 when you go to the auction better. Take care and have a great 😊 day.

Good time with family and friends. Another outstanding video and a break from the market. Poor Hillary.

Thank you for taking me along! I am 76 years old and the "ole heart" doesn't allow me to get out and about very often! Keep up the great work!
I pull with J D 1953 60. I unhook the feed wagon put the weight brackets on ready to go. Super m s and 88 Oliver's are trouble most of the time
I. Have to agree David . Anything more than two cylinders is just a waste , johnny poppers get it done in the field and farmyard. Trust Jesus
@@ronaldgodden4490 thanks if you can get traction you're not going to kill it
you could head out to greenwich ny next year for the washington county fair and see some tractor puls
Hilary must be takin care of the farm
Sled puller here! Trucks are the best to watch in my opinion. I got tractors but pull with my truck. 1st place a few times diesel work stock class

So nice you can spend the day with your kids. Looks like fun🇨🇦
Great to see you and your children. I agree, tractor pulls, part of the great Americana. I noticed the advertisement for MacFadden on the sled. The are located about 5 minutes from me. Bless.
They have lawnmower pulls and kiddie pulls at our annual tractor pull. So much fun to watch.
At the Armada Fair in Michigan, they had a garden tractor class too. Really cool what they do with those tractors. Tractor-truck pulls are always fun to watch.
The sleds that were there do benefit pulls all summer and do a really good job.I use to pull on them every weekend
Only in the USA WOULD you see something like this. Great family fun day out.
Great video, nice to see all the colors, even those running on more cylinders than they need….lol
Yup, enjoyed the video. Thx for sharing your day.
Great video' hadn't see a tractor pull in years. Thank you!

Much better than watching the drag racers and easier on the ears. Thanks Pete.
We were just at the Alexander Steam Show tractor pull a few weeks ago in Genesee county NY. I love seeing these with my youngest son!

It can be hard to enjoy things when you're shooting video. Thanks for taking the time to give up some of your experience to share.
We had a John Deere R and it was unstoppable back then. I worked for a guy that pulled Oliver 88's on alcohol. Great times.

Thanks for the information about the tractor pulls. Your informative narrations add to the quality of your videos.
I find it fun trying to squeeze as much power out of a tractor as possible while remaining stock appearing.
Your videos are ALWAYS interesting ! Thank you !
Brings back memories. Thanks Pete.

Thanks for a great commentary! I’ve never understood tractor pulls, now I have an appreciation for them!!

I always learn new things from your channel. Very interesting!
That was fun! Thanks for bringing us along. 🇺🇸🚜👍
Very rarely I see john deere 2 cylinders win these. Only if there isn't any 400s, 450s and Super MTAs
Oh now you know deep down in side you want one of them 2 cylinder John deers Pete . Lol
We attend our local tractor 🚜 pulls every year. They're fun really. Have you ever seen the riding lawnmower pulls? Those are hilarious 🤣 😆
