Two different tones, but I genuinely think if you watched this and followed it up with the first episode, it would work. The last 10 minutes of the movie are pretty dark.
But the first episode starts with the incident that led to his arrest… it bounces between timelines, not chronological, and there’s plenty of his childhood already in the series. I think you meant to put this on the other thread
Isn’t that the case for any killer? If you’ve seen as many docs and read as many books as I have, he was kinda, mentally, screwed since birth, or at 4 years old at the latest, from hernia surgery trauma. By high school, where we see him here, he was already dead set on his compulsions and urges, it was just when he picked up Hicks, he was officially beyond the point of redemption

Good movie. It's tragic to see someone who had potential to be a good person self destruct and end up on a path to be a monster.
