- Join us as we explore the role and value of a housing counselor as you begin your home ownership journey.
We’ll discuss credit, budgeting, and planning for mortgage qualification. You'll also hear from Sylvia Alvarez, founder and Executive Director of the Housing and Education Alliance (HEA), regarding the first steps you can and should take as you prepare to purchase a home.
The Housing and Education Alliance (HEA) is a HUD approved housing counseling agency serving over 47,000 Tampa Bay area residents since 2002. Sylvia is a motivational speaker and appears regularly on local and national English and Spanish media regarding housing issues. Through her leadership her agency has received national recognition and many awards including the coveted “PBS-WEDU Non Profit of the Year Award” for their work during the crisis providing over 14,000 Tampa Bay families free foreclosure prevention services.

Who's the best lender(s) with all the best downpayment assistance?
There aren't any. This is a website company who's sole job is to generate leads for agents, banks, programs, lenders, and brokers. There is NO PATH FOR YOU TO GET the massive down payment assistance illustrated in the app form you filled out.
It's unethical, and it's illegal, but here they are, attacking the public.
They might be giving you the phone number and contact information for people who oversea the programs, but those people can't help you get those incentives. Only the agents and brokers can do that, and they don't want to do that.
You can call around if you want to, but in my experience, you aren't going to be able to find ANY agent or broker that is going to help you take money out of their pockets!
