These are so calming! Collection/hauls videos so this is amazing for me. Keep up good work. BTW your collection is amazing must have cost you so much over the years! Well jealous xx
I absolutely love these videos of your collections of supplies, how you keep them and the tour of your art studio/organization IDT you could make these videos to long for me lol! So envious, but inspired to build my own and try to organize it half as well as your own! Could you update in the future?
Loved seeing all your pencils. The Arteza are so pretty! I am actually coloring with colored pencils tonight. I have several brands and I'm still experimenting a lot to find the right combinations (for me) of pencil, technique, and paper. I really look forward to watching you work with the various sets and hearing what you think of them.
Belle I definitely have to get my pencils out more as I have been coloring so much with my glitter gel pens and markers so much so my pencils have been getting neglected, the poor things. Lol.
Thanks for sharing. We have several of the same pencils. One comment on the Derwent Coloursoft, they resemble pastels more than Prismacolors to me. I seal mine with fixative as the colors tend to brush off. I love my Inktense too. The Arteza pencils are okay, but not a favorite of mine. I prefer the AmazonBasics to them. I really, really don't care for the ColorIt pencils. I'm glad I only bought the 24 set. Love, love, love my Prismas and Polys!
Melinda Reading and Coloring Enthusiast we have very similar thoughts on the pencils. I didn’t think of the Colorsoft being comparable to pastel pencils but now that you say that, you are right, they kinda do.
I just received that dark pink “smiley face” case from Wish! It is such good quality and a perfect fit for my Prismacolor Scholars! I will definitely being buying more of those cases.
I love coloured pencils and have several different sets from budget to expensive. For a while now I’ve been looking for a medium budget set to colour in CreateSpace books and I like Arteza, Goldfaber (Faber Castell) and Black Widows for that. BUT since I’ve managed to finally buy the Holbeins, I find that IN MY CASE (just in my opinion and in my case, others might not feel the same) it’s a false economy to spend money on several sets of budget friendly pencils that have limitations particularly in terms of colour range when Holbeins have such an amazing array of hues and the quality is such that they last a long time on all kind of paper quality. Since I started using Holbein, I’ve found it very difficult to be happy with any other pencil, so I’ve been using them constantly. As you can see, love at first sight!
I'm the same way.... I find it a struggle to use the cheaper, less pigmented supplies. I haven't sprung for Holbeins yet, but I don't buy any books with Create Space paper.
Cully Howard yes, the Holbein are just amazing, aren’t they? Those pastel pencils is what gets a lot of people, I think. They are definitely something I need to get out more. 😊
I enjoyed this. I love seeing pencil collections. I may do an updated one soon. Gave away some sets I wasnt using and added a couple of new ones including the Arteza.
Lovely collection! The Color It pencils were disappointing to me, too. Plus, some of the cores of my set seem to be broken. I’d sharpen the pencil and the lead would come out because the lead in the core seemed broken. I was really expecting better. I also agree that many sets have too many greys. I’d rather have more of other shades, and half the grey pencils. Thanks so much for sharing!
My cats heard you opening pencil case zippers and came running to my chair, ready to cry for lap time. 😂 Yearning for the Albrecht Durers, Bruynzeel and the FC Pitt pastel pencils (how do you sharpen your pastels?). Love my Coloursoft and Inktense! Beautiful pastel colors in the Holbein. 😍 Bluegrey in Amazon Basics is great for shadows. I want to come pet all your pencils. 😂 Thanks for sharing Lisa. Love seeing other people’s coloring stash.
At the moment, I am working with Crayola markers mostly, and gel pens, but I want to learn how to use colored pencils. Do you feel like certain colored pencil brands work better on different coloring books?
Kate Sparks Creativity yes although I’m the wrong person to ask. If you want to blend, then the soft Prismacolor pencils are for you. However, if you want to layer the pencil over each other, then a harder pencil worked do this, like polychromos.
@@LisasColoringCorner Um, what's the difference between layering and blending? If I want to blend colors, I layer them. And if necessary, go over them with my Lyra Splendor Colorless Blender, but the Polychromos often don't need that. What else is there? I'm curious.
@@astrinymris9953 Blending is typically what you do with prismacolor where you don't layer any colors over the top of each other, just INTO each other. Prismacolor does this well because they're so soft. So, for example, you would blend red into orange into yellow. Whereas layering, you would layer one color over another to get a different color that eventually "blends" into another color. There are many people that layer and then blend into another color. I do both, depending on what I'm coloring and what I'm coloring with. Hope this helps.
Very nice collection! Pencils are my favorite medium so I really enjoyed this. I have the Crayola 120 set and the new colors are really nice. I use them as much as I use my more expensive sets. The only thing that I do not like about them is the wood is not the best. It sometimes splinters when Sharpening them.
cori sharer lol. No not bad. 😊 I’ve never tried the Blick but I do hear good things about them. I just don’t color as much with my colored pencils so not sure if I should get any more at this point. Have you ever tried the Blick markers? I hear really good things about them too.
cori sharer that’s what I hear!! I would love to get the brush ones but feel I shouldn’t because of all the other markers I have already, especially the Copics. Lol.
Dear Lisa, HOW do you find the layering of the holbeins in comparison with the polychromos? I am sadly disappointed. Perhaps I haven't spent enough time with them or maybe it's the paper. I just color in coloring books. But all my other artist grades do better. Karen.
Lyle Bobroske I have sadly only colored with the Holbein a couple of times so far and currently have a wip where I’m coloring with the Holbeins over marker. And, yes, I’m having a bit of a problem. But I think it’s because I’m so used to Prismacolor.
And BTW could you PLEEEASE color a picture with the progresso pencils? They are made in my small tiny country Czech Republic - central europe - so it would make genuenly happy :)
Adri Gom I will put it on my video “to do@ list but I have no idea when I’ll get to it unfortunately. I would most likely either just straight color a picture or else do a smaller picture and do some blending. I could also use these for part of a picture and then gel pens and/or markers for the rest. I’ll have to see. But thank you for the request. I’m glad I have a long to do list - never running out of ideas!! Lol.
Interesting that you have no Caran d'Ache pencils or Stabilo Carbothello pastel pencils... Is there a reason you have avoided the Luminance 6901 pencils?
I’d LOVE to get the Luminance!! I just can’t justify the cost right now as I just don’t use my pencils enough. However, if that changes in the future, I’ll probably be getting them. Lol.
I'm with ya on the greys. I don't need a dozen different greys. I like nature scenes with flowers and leaves and trees so I use pinks, reds, blues and greens a lot. I was wondering if you're a "pod person" (like in the Body Snatchers movie) when I saw you pull out a tin. LOL LOL !
Hi Lisa, I saw in the beginning that you have a mischievous kitty. :) Anyway, you have an amazing collection! I especially love the zippered cases that some are stored in, much better than the cardboard boxes that we're all used to when we were kids. It was interesting to hear that Crayola has upped their coloring game. I'm sure that's one that we're all familiar with. How do you decide which set to use when you color? Do you have a preference of one over another? Thank you for sharing them all with us. ~Donna
Donna lol. She can be a little stinker at times because she’s a cord chewer. So I gave to always put my mic cord away each time. I didn’t realize that me trying to get my cord away from her was on camera. Oops. Lol.
Be_A_Bright_ Sparkle lmao!! Just got done recording it. Still have to get it transferred, edited, saved and then first uploading to RUclips so I won’t be getting all that done tonight yet as it’s 11:00 already. I’ve got a couple of other videos to make in the morning though before Maddie gets here so it may be up later tomorrow. Stay tuned. Lol.
I got a couple of different sets on Amazon. amber franklin hue is the actual color itself. Tint is adding white to the hue (for a pastel type color) and shades are created by adding black or gray. Hope that makes sense.
Rozalyn Leslie they are about $100 now. I don’t believe I paid quite that much when I bought them a number of years ago but here is a link to the 72 set (which is what I have): amzn.to/2Cm5wqT

I know this is an older video, but it popped up and I watched it again. I’m in awe. I would love the Holbeins!!!! The colors look beautiful.
