  • This clip will explain and demonstrate an option for using a 9 foot webbing loop to secure the roof of a vehicle when it's been "flapped" or "folded" versus completely removed. This same technique can be used on doors that have been fanned open and displaced versus removed - In either case the intent of the webbing is to secure the roof or door so that it stays in place while the patient is extricated.

Enjoy your well deserved retirement. I have always enjoyed your videos. Great un-biased and well explained. Our Department still utilizes the training prop I built thanks to your detailed instructions and design. Best of luck in whatever adventure you take on in the future. Thanks!

I'm "right-handed" and you may notice in the video I use a "left-handed" swing to make the purchase point for the carabiner on the side of the vehicle shown - This provides a puncture angle to the sheet metal that folds the metal inward and makes it a little easier to insert the carabiner. If I was tying in on the other side, I would have used a right-handed swing - Just one of many reasons why there are advantages to be "somewhat" ambidextrous. If you wanted to pinpoint a very specific location for the purchase, you could hold the Halligan in that location and have a second Firefighter drive the point with a striking tool.

🕊️ Retiring in a month? Slow down baby, life's not that fast. 🕊️ Yes, you do not physically look as someone who should be retiring yet the years creep up on us. You know very well that life is not that fast but my God, where have the years all gone 😌 I do not know you personally but as a sub of yours for many years? I've gotten to know the loyal, devoted, ambitious, zero tolerance for rubbish etc. I can go on and on, you're a humble man and we all love you beyond words that can never come close to expressing our respect and love that we all have for you. 🕊️ Congratulations on your retirement my love🕊️
