I fell like putting together a puzzle with her WOULD be very chill. She would probably relax enough to have a good conversation with. Too much mom energy: it's part summer camp craft teacher and part art critique. I realize she was just falling back to a comfortable mom mode because she was nervous and has had good luck with that outgoing manor, but it feel so fake and exhausting.

Cody was spot on describing the differences between parents dating versus non-parents. I’m a single mom, and I’ve only ever dated guys with no kids. I think this video is shedding light on some things for me, like why dating has been so challenging. Maybe I need to date guys that are also parents.

And I guarantee (as one mom currently struggling to feed her kids and get by, let alone special things for birthdays), you are probably correct. So many of us parents these days are struggling rn. It just seems like this home stretch is so much harder now and I'm just so tired. Ready for things to get better because they've been hard since before the pandemic. I never even got any help during the pandemic. They gave me money and before I even spent a dollar, they took it all back. It was so weird. Then they accused me of spending the money ECEB MORE THAN WHAT THEY GAVE ME AND TOOK BACK (Literally like 40k or something rediculous! As the child of a single mother if they don't have kids they are so much less attentive in my experience
