Thanks for posting. And not long ago. This fantastic song is an underrated overlooked gem. Also a tribute to the great Lowell George. This song on the record (which has fantastic production) got them a deal with after being dropped but never sold like it should have. Then Lowell passed and the band changed. My favorite song and version of the band. And that ringing out high note makes all the difference.
I love this song. Lowell George was a genius. Thanks for explaining this for the general populace. And dude you're da man for figuring this out. Great ear!
Yes great song.i was trying to play it in standard but couldn't get that ring.then broke a string and tuned to open g but left the high e on a whim and wow there it is.This was yesterday. Cool coincidence that I was trying to figure out "Down by the Seaside" and bam I turned to your channel and you had just posted it. Then I go to "Easy to Slip "just on the heels of that to find here this morning.😦😎.Cool song coincidence. Thanks .keep being you.Your love for music is inspiring and when I hit a wall I come here to work on something you have posted and like I said oft times The song you are working on is the same one I was.Great channel. Thanks.
When I saw that Fred Tackett played mandolin with Little Feat, I thought maybe that would offer a voice to that high D note. But he didn't join them until 1973 as a session musician. Good call for Modified Open G!
I play Willin in the same G tuning (because of your insight), so it makes sense for this song, too. Lowell George was probably enjoying using that tuning at the time.

Honestly, is there no rock song you can't play on guitar? You never fail to impress me.
Yes!!! You also broke the code for Will’in in open G modified. Great analysis and ears...Many Thanks

Thanks Man! I thought most if not all of Little Feat was played in open A
Noyyyyce...
Thank you!
I was playing this song standard and it was weak?
I'm just learning now
Can you please tell me exact 'G' tuning? Will a capo work on this?
(nice)
Try a capo in fret 7 and keep it in standard tuning with open G chord
