My crate is angled 45 degrees towards me and my rods are angled back about 45 degrees (6 rods). And the crate rotates forward allowing the rods to go vertical from easy removal. The crates angle makes it easier to pull out boxes that have dividers.
Really like the tether tube turrets but I'd love for them to have a way to connect them (or have a different variation all together) to where you can move one and have the other tubes pivot along with it. Just makes it easier when you've got 3/4 tubes on each side. Knot lock bungee divider. Sweet! Now I'm hoping they come out with a solid divider (13 or 16) so you can stack up multiple boxes on one side while still using the bungee divider and still have an open space for a cooler, bait bag, etc. We'll have to see. But there's plenty more of ideas that will come to fruition for the new blackpak. It's definitely the MOLLE of kayak fishing.
They should design a add on battery box bottom for powered kayaks. With adjustable base mounts around the battery base.and battery securing straps to accommodate diffrent battery styles there are so many styles out there this will be difficult. The motor i have is a 24vdc system so i need 2 -12vdc agm 35 amp hrs batteries. Or 2- 12vdc 50 amp hr lifepo4. Some may require 2- 100amp hrs. If you simply fill your black pack with batteries you loose tackle storage. So a specifily designed add on base would be ideal. In the mean time I am going to build a plywood base, and heavily coat it with spray on truck bed liner to water seal it.and secure the black pack to the top of this base as a lid. I am leaning towards the 16x13 blkpak pro
They need to design a way to snap 2 boxes together like a top and bottom locking system with power ports or design a add-on wheels attachment with a luggage style pop-up handle for easy mobility. Foam insert inside bottom of box for noise dampening. Design a flash light mount inside lid. Design a locking point to attach a tool tray, carabiner, net, or bag. How about a 5"H x 5"W x 12" L accessory box. Design a system to hold your measuring board. This is fun I can play this game all day.

I've been trying to scheme a way to get a pair of 45deg rod tubes to the side of my OG blackpak, but it looks like YakAttack beat me to the punch, and then some, with those turrets, which look awesome. The ~3/8" or whatever HDPE is substantial and can take one heck of a beating, while (just based on the video, I haven't had one in my hands yet) the new BlackPak looks like a thinner, maybe different material? Not to say that I believe YakAttack would put out anything that wasn't top notch, but I haven't gotten my hands on one to see what it is all about. That lattice structure for the gridlock system will add a lot of rigidity no doubt, but how do you think it will hold up long term to impacts and abuse compared to the old BlackPak?
The new BlackPak Pro is awesome. I have the 13x16 with 8 of the new rod holders and it fits perfectly in the well on the Bonifide SS127. The rod tethers work great and don't get in the way.
How many rods holders can you mount on 1 side with the turnit adapter and have room to rotate them enough to get a usable low angle for a river configuration. I can't tell from this vid how many you could have on one side and still rotate all of them.

If they wanted to just “sell more” then would have went the easy route and made it reverse compatible. I do have to question why they charge so much for a box are kind enough to include six rod holders, depended on the size box that you buy, but not one of them can fit on a 45° angle without having to drill another hole. As the the designer of the Blackpak, I can tell you for a fact that the pattern wasn't changed just to sell more accessories. If that was the case we wouldn't have included rod tubes, handles, omni corners and omni hooks with the Blackpak, we would have sold them separately. In addition the old BlackPak didn't even have a pattern. It had a few holes that allowed you to attach rod holders in a couple different positions. If you wanted to change that position or mount something other than a rod holder, you had to drill holes. Customers were already purchasing accessories/making them and figuring out a diy way to attach them to the blackpak. The GridLoc pattern was created to make attaching accessories easier by standardizing the pattern between accessories and making it so the customer didn't have to drill holes everywhere. The standardization means that latches, hinges, handles and all the other attachments/accessories can go nearly anywhere you want them on the blackpak without having to drill a single hole. This means when you decide you didn't like the way you had your blackpak layed out because you've figured a better layout (just like Chad mentioned he did) , all you have to do is remove a few screws and put the accessories where you want them. Here at Yakattack we live and breath the kayak fishing/rigging; we're not in the game because we're greedy, we do it because we love the sport and want to give the customers the best products possible. Are we going to sell more accessories because of the new pattern? Of course we are.. But it's because IT IS BETTER not some greedy scheme to get customers to buy more accessories. If somehow offering our customers a BETTER Blackpak is some greedy scheme just to sell more accessories then you've caught us red handed, run and tell the presses.

@@Letsdive64 because that would have required rod tube specific holes. The purpose of the Gridloc pattern as I stated before was to standardize the mounting. This means that the rod tubes, handles, mighty mounts, latches, hinges and future accessories all have the same mounting pattern and can mount wherever you want them.

Does a Plano Edge 3700 fit in standing up?
It will fit but the lid wouldn’t close. The Plano 3700 is 14” long and internal dimensions of the BlackPak is 11.75” H
