When there’s so many new and cool things in a product, where do you start? Is it with the strongest suction ever in a robot vacuum? Maybe it’s the unusual shape. Faster auto-emptying? Longer runtime? … there’s more! That’s the story behind the all new Ecovacs Deebot X2 OMNI.

In this review I’m going to take a look at the new ECOVACS DEEBOT X2 OMNI, I’ll show you the more than TEN new or upgraded features you’ll be getting including way better suction, and improved design and new shape, I’ll test out how well it cleans (*I will also test this out by adding some new challenges to my typical array of robot vacuum tests…!)
To wrap I’ll go over the pros and cons to see if this vacuum is something you think you should add to your home.
I have long been a fan of Ecovacs vacuums because they work extremely well, operate entirely bug free, and the company keeps innovating and making its robots smarter with every new device. That's why I would like to thank Ecovacs for sponsoring this post, since their support is helping me keep the blog and the RUclips channel running so for that I am very grateful. Though they are paying for my time, they have not told me what I have to say and what I can’t say and I got to test the bot however I wanted to, so these thoughts are all my own.
What you get
Wha do you get with the ECOVACS DEEBOT X2 OMNI? This is a dual vacuum and mopping robot that can also empty its own dustbin, and wash and dry its scrubbing mopping pads with hot water and hot air.
What’s new?
There is a lot to cover here when it comes to what’s new. So I’m going to break this down into a kind of Top 10 list.
1. New (old) shape
There are a couple of notable differences in terms of the aesthetics, but when it comes to the shape, this is more than just straightening a few curves. ECOVACS DEEBOT X2 OMNI goes back to robot vacuum roots by squaring off the front of the bot, and that helps with two things; First, allows it to handle corners and edges a lot better. Second thing that squoval shape does is actually number two on our list…
2. Wider Roller Brush
ECOVACS DEEBOT X2 OMNI has a wider roller brush underneath-now 20 cm long or nearly 8-inches, which should allow it to pick up more dust and debris in a single pass. In fact, ECOVACS says it should pick up nearly 20-percent more debris at once (as compared to the X1 model). We will fact check this in the cleaning tests coming up.
3. More compact base station
Ecovacs did a bit of a redesign on the Omni station. They have slimmed it down and shortened it slightly, particularly when compared to the X1 version or the T20 OMNI. Other changes to the base station are things you won't notice and that brings us to item number five…
4. Streamlined design touches
The overall design of this floor bot seems to push it towards minimalist look and I think it looks fantastic
5. Slimmer vacuum for tight spaces
Ecovacs keeps the downsizing theme going with a shorter robot vacuum profile; the bot itself is designed to be able to get under lower furniture , standing just about 95 mm or about 3.5-inches tall, and with no more lighthouse on top like the X1, it’s far less likely to get caught on things when it’s cleaning.
6. Stronger suction
The ECOVACS DEEBOT X2 OMNI now has an astounding 8,000 pascals of suction-ECOVACS calls it Hurricane Power; in some cases that's at least double and up to three and four times as powerful as most other vacuum robots, and it’s up even from the substantial 5,000 pa on the X1.
7. Faster auto-emptying
That leads me to number SEVEN on our list… And that is quicker auto emptying. The new ECOVACS DEEBOT X2 OMNI can empty a full dustbin in about 10 seconds-I timed it!- which is about half the time of many other competitors.
8. Removable tray
The mopping tray is now removable for cleaning.

8. The tray in the base of the cleaning station is also now removable for a more thorough cleaning every so often.
9. Longer runtime
This new robot also has substantially increased its runtime, with up to over 210 minutes of run time on low power in vacuum only mode.
10. S-shaped scrubbing & best in class mop-lifting
There's yet another excellent feature I'm looking forward to putting into practice; it has what's called deep scrubbing option which is where the robot will move more in an S-shaped fashion, wiggling it's mopping pads back-and-forth across your floor to give it even better scrubbing capabilities. Thank you so much! In the market for a robot vac/mop and your video is so helpful!
it seems like a commercial video. From what i saw in other true testing video is that the robot do not cover the all area it leave dead area. It not remove hard stains from the floor. some of them left.
Thanks for the review! Im looking forward to testing one in my home in the future. Currently I am rocking the Dreame L10s Ultra. We will see how this compares.
One day when I don’t have time for a regular vacuum cleaner, I will definitely buy Ecovacs Ddebot X2 Omni.
And I will be happy!)
Thanks Erin for the great review. This robot vacuum cleaner is truly powerful and functional.
Dang, great review. Now I contemplating on what to do with my X1 since I want the X2. 😂😂
Nice video! I love the Deebot X2. My favourite feature is that that you can mop and vacuum without taking the mop pads off.
How does it compare to the t20?
great review
Can the mop be detached at the station?
Does it use same dust bags as X1 Omni? Ans how is it? I am planning to order
Does it leave water marks after mopping?
Thanks Erin.
is it also dumb like AirBot Z1? uses the same navigation
I'm testing it currently and the navigation is pretty bad. It also does not completely clean an area. Try scattering some rice in a 3x3 square foot area and send it out of a zone cleaning and you will see. It will leave lines of rice untouched.
I have a X2 Omni and I am trying to schedule different cleaning programs by day. I can't find the option to select the days. Am I missing something? The scheduling in the App only allows me to select a time and repeats at that time ...
Go down to schedule and slide the option Repeat… it will give you the days to choose from. Perhaps you need to update the app if you miss it?
Does the bot itself have a water tank, or does it just use damp pads from the base station?
5.:47 there's an onboard water tank
a few things i would love to know which have not been addressed here:
1,) would it fall off the stairs?
2.) does it do a good jobs of picking up pet hairs and dust from cat litter (shine UV light on the spot cleaned)
3.) does it avoid stuff like cat puke. it would be awful to suck it into the vacuum part
It avoids stairs. All robots do no way. It's great for pet hair and I think it would get the litter too (a good test for future bots for me). It would not know to avoid cat vomit. iRobot bots can avoid poop but not sure about other stuff.
the older vacuums didn't empty properly at all with hair, is this still a problem?
It handles my long hair, as well as long and short pet fur. My dogs shed A LOT and the vacuum has fixed it.
Does Canada still have small denomination brass coins?
No
The mop pads actually do not get lifted all the way off the carpeting either.
I have dog area rugs have dog hairs this Deebot X2 didn't pick up hairs on all rugs.
8,000 pascals of suction! 🐈🐈⬛😻
Do those smart vacuums really work? 🤨
I use the iRobot vacuum for 10 years now and never had any problems. They do work and make our lives a lot easier on the day to day, but you still need to do the weekly cleaning to make sure corners are properly vacuumed and that the floor is properly mopped with an actual mop.
Inspector Gadget 😂😂😂
all those bowls lol. Big meals.
😆
Just got mine yesterday
How is it?
How do you like?
I bought this last month. It is not vaccuming properly and not picking dust at all. It has horrible navigation. I called the support they recommended reset but no luck. I am going to return this. Waste of money
X2 is trash on thic carpets i got it and now
am stuck with it its past the return date the
shark matrix is way better ecovac software
is bad the x2 never seems to find its station
evem tho its 5 inchs infront of it and when it does it never manages to get inside and on my
carpets in the garage it doesnt even move
it keeeps saying the antidrop sensors are
dirty please clean them evem tho their clean
contacted ecovac numereous times they
couldnt resolve any of my isssues but the

also a third of the price it needs major
spftware updates and maybe hardware
updates and fs better clstumer service
WARNING. VERY BUGGY. DO NOT BUY YET. I HAVE ONE AMD I’M HAVING MULTIPLE ISSUES
Tell us more...
Why do you act like we as consumers don’t have the right to return a product 💀 . Who cares, if you like it keep it or if you don’t then return it
Who is Pascal and why does he always suck?
its an horrible robot vacuum I have so much to say but I am very upset right now. definitely returning..
Please elaborate… What issues are you having with it?
Terrible software and customer support is nonexistent. When they replied told me power off power on or update the software. But did not recognize the error codes.
Unit starts then goes in open area and gets lost.
Other times it would come off the base and told us to clear the path.
Other times keeps bumping into the wall (yes, I had edge cleaning off).
Batteries will not charge beyond 50% sometimes.
I bought it at your recommendation. Please do not accept these freebies reviews and tarnish your channel’s reputation.
If it’s a sponsored review by ecovacs then i can’t take review seriously. It will be a bias review.
a very stupid and noisy robot. You can't sleep, I don't
recommend buying it for people with allergies, it's as noisy as
a substation. Travel back in time 10 years. He bumps into the
furniture. After a week of use, it looks like my RoboRock $7
MaxV Ultra, which I have for one year. The EcoVacs Home app is
freezing slow and in Eastern Europe the air quality information
of the device or the sensor does not work. Bad product, you
can buy better products for that money. A waste of money and
a waste of time.
Interesting; you have both the Ecovacs X2 AND the RoborockS7 Max? And are you running them while you are sleeping? Seems like a strange choice.
