Forget about politics and this vs that for a minute and admire the beauty and engenering of sukhoi. it will go down in history as one of mandkinds most spectacular airplanes.
I agree Alan. Rather than compare aerobatic teams and aircraft, just admire the ability to precisely fly big fighter jets in unison with added great sound, great colours and skills.
The politics drive me crazy, US propagandists so often cant bring themselves to acknowledge that the Thrust vectoring Sukhois are absolutely incredible and revolutionary in their capabilities, they simply can do things which no other production aircraft has demonstrated. A lot of times they do things which my mind says are logically impossible with a fixed wing. The Harrier is the only fighter that i have ever seen do anything close to as amazing. Screw the politics, as an enthusiast i dont care which country built it, its an engineering marvel. As to practical application, I beleive the Russians are right after seeing and hearing commentary about the SU30 being the toughest fight aside from the F22... Maneuvers like the ones seen here are why.
It's not the plane. It's the man. A bad pilot is a bad pilot. A great pilot is a great pilot weather in a us fighter or a Russian fighter. And sukoi does make exceptional platforms. I love the su-34, I would give anything to fly that duck.

List of maneuvers displayed: Flat spin, TVC turn 360 degrees, J - turn, Cobra spike, Falling leaf, Tail slide, Cobra’s stance. Note that the Malaysian pilots are the only ones performing all TVC maneuvers. The Russians perform Flat spins, Tail slides and Cobra’s stance only, while Indians perform only Loop -tumble - yaw and Tail slide.
Su-30mkm is better version with own Malaysian spec and upgrade, it's sad My country not buy f-16 block 40 because we don't get like we want, so we buy from Russia.

@@helmyoga7205 because to show full potential a pilot has to risk. Russians are too cautious at Airshows. Only test pilots not a military pilots fly Su-30/35 showing most of the potential. But this video shows a regular pilot flying like Russian test pilot.
@@samoahbay not only that, these maneuvers put a lot of strain on the aircraft, requiring frequent maintenance check and therefore higher cost. the Malaysians don't mind doing this because they usually fly jets with very high tempo. these Su-30MKM will undergo service life extension programme soon. so far only airframe number 11 already done it earlier this year.
The engine intake / compressor fan design must be amazing to ensure constant uninterrupted airflow to the burner area, so no flame-out or comp stalls occur. Virtually guarantees super reliable engine operation in all flight regimes.
@@banzaiib so i could feed those vanes through a drinking straw and expect no change? No doubt the vanes contribute a great deal to the engine feed, but I very much doubt they are solely responsible.

@@banzaiib I also mentioned engine intake. It struck me as interesting as both the mig and the sukhoi have pod designs for engines, where western fighters dont. Such a different approach to airflow into the face of the blades, perhaps fuselage boundary flow problem removal. I wonder at the design time that went into getting all the airflow handling just right.

@@symie8 , Have you ever seen the rudders go in opposite directions to act as airbrakes? Or the ailerons programmed to go in the same direction to act as flaps or spoilers? The Russians have experimented with some really out of the traditional box thinking. It is easier to do with FBW and independently powered and controlled flight control surfaces.
David Hoffman - I tend to keep an eye on everything Russian aircraft wise. This beast is a thing of beauty. I always thought the 29 was superior to anything we had in its time, apart from its fuel capacity. Sorry in “we” I meant the RAF. I was in the Air Force during the 90s. I don’t think I’ve ever seen thrust vectoring used so expertly. My only question would be if it could carry out these manoeuvres with a full load, which I doubt. Either way this is a bloody impressive display of airmanship!

MKI is better than MKM, MKI uses better Avionics, Electronic warfare suits and Radars All Israeli techs and Weapons, even Russia after the seeing the capabilities of MKI ordered for themselves as well !!! And Malaysia is an Islamic country they had to stick with Not so great Russian Avionics, Radars an EWS. And Malaysian Pilots were Trained by India when Malaysia received their MKM.

Yes, We use around 292 MKI.
MKI is better than MKM, MKI uses better Avionics, Electronic warfare suits and Radars All Israeli techs and Weapons, even Russia after the seeing the capabilities of MKI ordered for themselves as well !!!
And Malaysia is an Islamic country they had to stick with Not so great Russian Avionics, Radars an EWS.
And Malaysian Pilots were Trained by India when Malaysia received their MKM.

INDIA and ISRAEL both Follows the same Principle, If we even have Old Jets, upgrade it to Latest Standards with better Avionic, Radars, EW suits, Weapon integration, New Engine, Air to Air Refueling Pods and Etc.
Our Mirages, MIg-29 UPG, and even Jaguar have the best Israeli Radars and avionics and EWS.
You can't deny the Fact, that Israel is Best in Avionics and Stuffs!!
That's why we Preferred Israeli components on Russian Jets!!

UK quite often invites Indian Air Force Su 30's and Polish Mig 29's for fun and games (This is how BBC understood that Indian Su 30's and RAF Eurofighters trashed F 35 in mocked up dog fight.
Imagine if the Hawker P.1154 hadn't been cancelled...supersonic V/STOL vectored-thrust in the 60s.
