Hey guys.
In this DCS World Simulator video I'm flying the new SU30 Flanker MOD by Codename Flanker Community. I'm flying against the Eurofighter Typhoon in a FOX2 Fight and guns only fight. This is probably one of the most fun I had in a dogfight, Hope you guys enjoy!
I love playing simulators, I started with Arma 3 and then I saw DCS World. I also enjoy War Thunder , Battlefield , Ghost recon, Squad , Rome total war, Microsoft Flight Simulator and more. I also enjoy World War II games including il-2 In DCS World i found all the jets that i wanted to fly in a simulator the F 16 Viper , FA 18 Hornet , F 15 Eagle , A 10 Warthawg , SU 27 , Mig 29 , P 51 , Spitfire , AH 64 Apeche , Heuy and more... And if you will download MODs the options are endless: F 22 Raptor, SU 57 , A 4 Skyhawk , SR 71 Blackbird , Rafale, Gripen and the list goes on.

You should try against the Su-35 and Su-57... We need to see how well two plains with 3-D thrust-vectoring can do turn-and-burn dogfights against each other.
su 35 does not have it implemented
I think Su-35 does not have proper thrust vectoring model. It doesn’t move like in the air shows.
I could've sworn reports about the Chinese PLA Air Force acquiring Su-35s was to have access to the 3-D thrust-vectoring engines.

Thrust-vectoring with canards is definitely on point in dogfights!
The Su-30 is probably my favorite fighter jet thanks to your channel.

Does your mod of the Su 30 MKI have TVS?
I don't know about game but the real IAF jets do have 3d thrust vectoring in the MKI flanker so it would make sense to have that modelled in the mod as well@@RCLepcha

Congrats to the guy in the Eurofighter. He really flew well against a tough adversary aircraft. Both pilots were impressive.
Thrust vectoring does give you an advantage but you have to know when to use it otherwise it can get you into trouble. Great video!
That's right, the dogfight is all about energy management and there's no point in having powerful thrust vectoring if you're going to practically stand still in the air with almost no inertia like a duck waiting to be shot... It's more for airshows that for real practical use and the proof is that path was no longer developed. Also, in these times where 99.9% of the confrontations are BVR, you would have to do it very badly to get into a dogfight...
@@kosmos224 TVC is for instances when the dogfight has taken too long and both opponents slowed down below the optimum maneuvering speed. TVC merely augments the effectiveness of the aerodynamic control surfaces. Another use is for supersonic maneuvering. TVC helps increase the amount of G a fighter can pull since at supersonic speeds the turn rates are VERY slow. TVC adds some authority.
TVC is a good tool that one must know HOW to use and WHEN to use.
@@Max_Da_G i thought the limiting factors for turn rates at supersonic speeds was the G loading? or am i wrong in that assumption?
obviously u need to train and train hard to be efficient, but if u are and other plane does not have TV, its not even close, thrust vectoring wins every time.
@@starliner2498 The FBW system usually monitors what the planes doing. You can have TVC enabled as the Su-30 pilot have the ability to turn it on or off when ever he/she pleases but if your going a certain speed then the computer will block out the TVC controls so that you don't over G or break the airframe until you get slow enough then they will activate agian.

Russian Su-30SM and Malaysian MKM is based on MKI
Everything is the same except electronics (Indians use Israeli tech, Malaysians use France) while Russia like always does their own thing

BVR, Raptor all day. But up close and personal, would be one hell of a fight. Really would come down to who can get the lucky shot first
The Su-30 has greater chances of winning in a dogfight as it is more maneuverable due to its 3-D thrust Vectoring control as opposed to the 2-D thrust Vectoring control of the F-22.
@@wolframalpha8634Yaw and roll are not nearly as important as pitch and the F-22 has 24 degrees of gimbal on its TVC with a T/W of 1.33 whereas the su-30 has a T/W of 1.12 with 15 degrees gimbal on its TVC. It is in no way the Su-30s favor, it will bleed more speed and after that the insane T/W of the raptor is gonna have the jet simply fly circles around the Su-30 literally
Note: The F-22 is aerodynamically super maneuverable as well so it’s yaw and roll have extremely good authority even at stall speeds so it’s not like the TVC being 3D even adds that much of an advantage

Amazing video Mr. Longshot and that Su30 looks amazing as well. I have heard that they bleed a lot of energy using thrust vectoring so it depends on the situation I guess, 1 vs 1 its nice but I am not sure how it works in 2 vs 2, etc. as you get mighty slow...
Needs AL-41 or or even 51 engines but yeah, those canards make it really smooth but the Su-35, even though almost 2,500lbs heavier, EEW, is still a lot quicker to accelerate so there must be a considerable drag increment going on here.
Would also be nice to see multi mode FLCS options. One as a paddleable super-pitch and another as a steering/smoothing system, maybe even linked to IFFC...?

As Russian i am really proud of our fighter jet engineering. Close combat is no chance for almost anyone else. I saw their agility in person and it looks like they just cancel physics
Flankers are fun
I love just how much fun you had with this one!
Having a fighter air base few hours drive away means i get to see Su-30 MKIs dog fight regularly. Its a treat to watch those giant Flankers do ballet in the sky, used to be MiG-21s before that and saw a MiG-29 once during surge due to border tensions with China. Waiting if i will get to see Rafales.

This was Definitely impressive, and what seems like 57/22 levels of agility.
Next up, another SU-30 with vectoring as an opponent, then against the 57 and finally the 22.
Let's see who the real top dog is in DCS.
Maybe even get GS as the pilot!
The thing is that the SU57 is giving the F22 a tough time, but turns out Su57 doesnt have the Thrust Vectoring model. Imagine how much of a beast it would be with Thrust Vectoring. On Growling Sidewinder, Su30 did get the Raptor 3 times, but got shot like 4 times, Even the Felon had hard time beating the F22. Imagine how good would the Su57 fare against F22, if the thrust vectoring model is implemented on it.
What an improvement, next fight against F-22 with either GS or Toxic onboard
That last kill... WOW! Felt like all of the ordnance straight on the Eurofighter.
That was some of the best DCS flying I've seen yet. Right up until 2:05...BOOM!!!
Su 30 and Su 35 are like T-90M or AK74M Zenited out, and Su-57 is like T-14 Armata or AK-15 Gen 2-3: old but refined style and build type vs new but unfinished technology.
And this one mod is gonna rival the F-22
The whole section from 6:00 feels like Ace combat with you just randomly spinning in the air while flying backwards sideways and back first from the Eurofighter trying to chase you like you're some kind of drunken Master.
What are these two black bars on the canopy top of the heAD? I checked some SU-30 photos and some have them, some not.

It’s cool to see the difference between a 4.5th gen with thrust vectoring when compared to the 5th gen’s, the 5th gen aircraft float like leaves, where as the su-30 just kinda falls out of the sky with unlimited nose authority

in a dogfight situation like this, by the time a fighter jet without reliable trust vectoring finish theirs turns they we’ll be in front of The Flanker nose just ready to be punch either with cannon or ballistic missiles in order to defeat A good Flanker pilot is either using long range tactics or make sure you’re good pilots too 😂
one wonders if these modern fighters have the smarts to autoselect chaff upon being locked. flares are selected (for dispensing) by default.
Correct me if I am wrong but it looks like you disable your g impact... such high g manoeuvres would results quickly in black veil no?
To make DCS even better than it already is, just have completely clickable troops on the ground. This will provide a degree of immersion never before seen in the history of this simulator!

Great video! Which 360 thurst vectoring is no joke it's just adds weight and complaxtity and give you much more flexablity... Making it odd the US does not use it with it's expensive frames and well trained pilits but Russia does with the oppiste...

This looks like the Flanker version of the Grinelli F-22 Thrust Vectoring monster that Growling Sidewinder flies; it's an F-22 on steroids! I would love to see you fly this Flanker against that Raptor! It would be one of the biggest dogfights of this century!
And speaking of Raptor, your next video has to be you flying this Flanker against a Raptor! It should give the Raptor a run for it's money. Mihaly Shilage in the Flanker from Ace Combat 7 vs. Moebius 1 in the Raptor from Ace Combat 4; two legendary pilots, two incredible planes, one epic dogfight!

There's a part of me that feels like this thing is more maneuverable than even the Felon within DCS because I've never seen the Felon doing these kinds of stunts. In GS's newer Raptor vs Flanker dogfight, there's a part of me that feels like I saw the F22 still getting it's nose on faster than the new Flanker but I've felt like I've seen the Felon get that nose on even faster than the Raptor in Raptor vs Felon fights, but that could be due to speed. This dogfight in particular just really reminds me of Iron Man and the suit is really just thrust vectoring everywhere. There's a part of me that wants to see a model of the suit in DCS, and it would be the ultimate dogfighter because it will sit inside every circle and hover there, and shoot repulser beams at everything it dogfights. And, it's not slow like a helicopter.

you guys... I can imagine my grandmother with bearings to become a skateboard. you just can't accept it. Sukhois are incredible fighters and there are videos on youtube from real US fighter pilots saying that. In real life war situation, those abilities maybe are useless, but says a lot about the beauty of those flying machines
it is that simple, in a dogfight with guns only situation, a ufo like moving gun, can point you more easily. And one last thing because it starts to become funny, F22.... find me one just one video of an F22 to execute the same difficulty maneuvers like any SU fighter can do (even the ones it does it seems like it really struggles to execute them). Propaganda really works and makes people blind.

Dude this is a goddamn video game - try this flip in a real dogfight and either you'll just completely black out or simply crash into the ground/sacrifice your entire position to avoid the crash.

Try to find the video from a western pilot going to examine and fly the mig29 after the western and eastern Germany reunited. Try to find videos of western pilots flying against SUs. As you say they are REAL pilots, so they know better...

Depends on factors like speed, also the su 33 does not have thrust vectoring. This is a su 30

Yes, there are two version. The A2g one and A2A.

1. Who flew the Eurofighter?
2. If thrust vectoring is on and the nozzles are angled then TV is turned off, do the nozzles re-center automatically?
i dont think the nuzzles will re center cause we see a angeld nuzlles in flankers in hangars

I think I've seen pics and vids of the Eurojet EJ200 with 3-D thrust-vectoring nozzles, but I don't think it was ever tested on an actual airframe.
Real issue is not whether thrust-vectoring is feasible for the Typhoon but whether it is affortable.
