It’s honestly still incredible that Fox was able to so flawlessly adapt Deadpool from the comics to the screen through Reynolds. The chances were so high that due to the character’s fourth-wall-breaking nature, it would come off as bizarre to have him doing that on the big screen during the height of the extremely serious storylines occurring within the MCU, X-Men, and DCEU at the time. What we got was an absolutely perfect Deadpool movie and a super rewatchable and subversive movie that still feels as fresh and original to today as it did when it was released. Here’s hoping that bringing him into the MCU will help to pull the franchise out of its slump. ✊💯🙏
It’s not a slump, it’s just greed and ignorance on disneys behalf, believing they can just cramp politically loaded films down our throats and we’d still watch. Regardless if Deadpool does well, they’ll slip back into their woke ways
Fox didn't want Deadpool. The belief of the studio was that action movies didn't sell unless they could be marketed to teens/preteens. Deadpool couldn't be done with a PG rating. They also thought the terrible X-men origins movie introducing Deadpool would spike love for the character so they could judge if people wanted a deadpool stand alone movie(they took the hate at what was done to the character as hate of the character because the Fox executives are idiots). It wasn't until Ryan actually forced the test footage to exist(seriously he hired the writers, and sat with them to rework the script for the scene until he was happy it captured deadpool sufficiently) that there was any serious want to make it, then the idiot executives thought it'd tank because they're so out of touch they didn't enjoy it. When the footage did leak and the movie got greenlit they cut the budget the day filming was due to start. Really the whole thing just goes to show why Fox super hero movies fail so often, the executives have no idea what makes a good movie.
I've been saying this same thing for far too long. His whole demeanor and comedic appeal has sealed him into tough concrete and no one alive will never ever beat his role as good ole Deadpool.

I’m surprised you didn’t mention that a 2004 Deadpool comic describes Wade Wilson as a cross of Ryan Reynolds and a Shar-Pei. It was this reference that brought Deadpool to Ryan’s attention in the first place.
The creator of Deadpool said it himself in a panel, "I look like a dismembered Ryan Reynolds!" If the Deadpool creator said no one can play Deadpool aside from Ryan Reynolds, then who are we to argue with the man.

I doubt Nolan North saw one panel describing how Wade LOOKED and decided to use the voice for Deadpool of an actor who, while was always pretty famous, didn't really become a house hold name until Deadpool 2016.
@@PauTheDeo reynolds had been cast to play deadpool as early as 2004 before the movie got stuck in development hell and they put him in wolverine origins. you're acting like it wasn't nolan's first time playing the character in 2009 and as if reynolds wasn't well known for his comedic roles.
regardless of whether or not it was directly copying reynolds, it was a pretty lame voice acting job, especially compared to Nolan's other work.
Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, RDJ as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Cap, Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Tom Hiddlestone as Loki are all irreplaceable for Marvel
Current deadpool works so well because he has a literal real life origin story where he started out as something that would usually end up being the sole cinematic representative for that character, but the actor cared so much about making sure that wasnt the case this time that he personally ensured deadpool got the legacy he deserved
The funny thing about Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool is that it's written in the comics that Deadpool describes his appearance as "A cross between Ryan Reynolds and a Shar-pei". Even the comic writers typecast Ryan for the role and he wholeheartedly agrees.
YOU KEEP MY DENZEL’S NAME OUT YO MOUTH!!
The animated appearance of Deadpool was featured in the 2009 film Wolverine vs Hulk. This movie came out 4 months before Ryan Reynolds hit the silver screen as the merc with no mouth in the X-Men origins movie. So I find it hard to believe the voice actor was imitating Ryan Reynolds when the performance didn’t exist. That’s enough internet for the evening.
0:25 put some respect on Nolan North’s name, he wasn’t trying to do a Ryan Reynolds impersonation
fr
He’s been doing animated Deadpool for so long now and I think Nolan’s voice is better for it .
That animated movie came out before Ryan Reynolds had even appeared as Deadpool. Seriously, _Hulk Vs._ came out in January 2009 and _X-Men Origins: Wolverine_ came out in May the same year.
@@tbhreviews6611yeah
@@tbhreviews6611Hell, prior to the first Deadpool movie’s release, I always consider Nolan North as the Definitive Deadpool. He was my Deadpool. He WAS Deadpool.
The Nolan North disrespect will not be tolerated.
Did Denzel wrong.
Great video! Loved it 😃 I don't think Ryan can be replaced, just like Iron Man and Wolverine. People can always try to wear the costume, but they will always feel the air gaps in them left by the predecessor.
Nahhh slander on Nolan’s north’s Deadpool will not be tolerated especially since sir Reynolds has said that he appreciated north’s performances when he voices Deadpool
this guy is just glazing reynolds. the only point of this video was get some revenue along the release of the new deadpool movie
fr we won’t tolerate any Nolan north Deadpool slander, for some people he’s the reason why Deadpool is even popular like marvel vs capcom 3😊
@@jayeshjaiswal5631bruh people glaze Nolan and Reynolds it cringe when John Kassir should be getting his flowers since he ACTUALLY sounds like Deadpool
And both of those guys has made references to John Kassir’s Deadpool. John Kassir is super underrated.
@@Flungz_99 oh yeah, I feel so bad for forgetting didn’t he voiced Deadpool in the ultimate allience games?
Well, are you forgetting that Fox was also ready to scrap the whole thing, had it not been for Ryan (or “someone”) leaking the test footage.
You guys do know that the animated Deadpool clip you showed was BEFORE Ryan Reynolds appeared as the character, right?
They don't, because Nerdstalgic doesn't do research.
4 months and the same year but yeah.
@@PauTheDeofr they would’ve appreciated Nolan more and Kassir more.
Ryan reynolds is playing himself with healing factor
1:17 I like how he wears almost the same shirt as Wolverine in the X-Men movies.
first saw him in blade trinity and he was the best part of the film, laughed my ass off the whole way through, been a fan ever since.
North set the standard for how to play Deadpool WAY before the movie ever came out, if anything Reynolds is the one doing a Nolan North impression.
I've been saying this same thing for far too long. His whole demeanor and comedic appeal has sealed him into tough concrete and no one alive will never ever beat his role as good ole Deadpool.
Hulk vs Wolverine, with Nolan North voicing DP, came out months before X-Men Origins
The animated Deadpool VA was literally the same one that did the Deadpool game VA and all marvel fans are saying that it’s an amazing VA for ANIMATED Deadpool (when in the beginning y’all was crying that it was to “much”)
Ryan is good for live action movies, but Nolan North working is also a masterpiece
Ryan Reynolds can break the 4th wall IRL
"Ryan Reynolds crossed with a shar-pei"
I’m surprised you didn’t mention that a 2004 Deadpool comic describes Wade Wilson as a cross of Ryan Reynolds and a Shar-Pei. It was this reference that brought Deadpool to Ryan’s attention in the first place.
The creator of Deadpool said it himself in a panel, "I look like a dismembered Ryan Reynolds!" If the Deadpool creator said no one can play Deadpool aside from Ryan Reynolds, then who are we to argue with the man.
Whoeee Denzel Washington? Damn nah.
Don’t diss Nolan north’s voice acting as Deadpool. It was gold.
The disrespect to Nolan North is insane. His performances of the character played a huge role in making Deadpool more mainstream before the movie. Ryan Reynolds has even acknowledged him.
I heard from another commenter (Who might also be a RUclipsr) that Ryan apparently appreciated Nolan’s take on DP.
Edit: Oh wait… you just said
@@ShockwaveFPSStudios When Ryan Reynolds played the Deadpool game with Jacksepticeye he mentioned that he liked Nolan North's version of the character.

Both deadpool and wolverine can’t be replaced, and depending if the deadpool wolverine movie is the last movie for the duo, it’s gonna be a sad day to see the end of iconic legenda
They can be and they will be eventually. There’s more than one person that can play a role well. And Deadpool would be incredibly easy to recast. They literally never have to show his face again and could just get someone to voice him
They can be replaced. But Deadpool not so easy. Wolverine easier, even to find someone better. I always found hugh jackman too mellow for ultimate version of wolverine but i see he is liked by everyone for wolverine, so might be way off
Nolan North did a great animated Deadpool----and it was before any Ryan Reynold's portrayal.
Ryan is the definitive Deadpool, but your take on Nolan was off.
Might want to do better research. Nolan North played DP in Hulk Vs. And that came out in 2009 which predates Ryan Reynolds, including X-Men Origins
not to mention the video game was fucking bonkers.
0:23 this guy did NOT know who Deadpool was before Ryan Reynolds 💀

Well there is ONE alternative: get Nolan North back in a recording booth!
Robert Downey Jr wasn't practically on skid row. He was playing Sherlock Holmes before that. Lmao what!
The only guy that could have been Deadpool was probably Sean William Scott in the early 2000s, he was hilarious
Jim Carrey as well.

I can’t believe you said Seth Rogan in the same breath as Denzel and Tom.
One thing I have always said, I think the origins version of Deadpool has a cool visual design. It's not really Deadpool like but I think it'd be a cool original character, the way he teleports has always been super cool to me, he doesn't teleport all at once but like outside in, so you see his skull as he teleports.
The reason they probably had him look like that is because no one in the Fox universe had costumes. They sorta entwined his costume with his skin.
@@PauTheDeoI was thinking they did that because the director wanted Ryan to shut the hell up
I love this is a Nerdstalgic video. I for some reason thought this was a Legal Eagle video when I first clicked on it lol
Literally. After this movie, he can come to the mcu to cameo with Spider-Man and stuff. But they need to recast EVERYONE ELSE. From Wolverine to Beast, reboot EVERYTHING but Deadpo
Ryan reynolds is sooooo awesome as Deadpool!!! I just watched the new movie!
In the early 2000s Ryan did a lot of comedy movies and i think while doing them he developed an indistinguishable comedic style, which translates well to Deadpool where he ups it to 200%. And he basically plays himself on cocaine. Which is amazing for this character.
so that's why there's so many snow gags in the dp movies...
Ah yes Nolan North did an impression of Ryan Reynolds for Deadpool…..before Ryan Reynolds was Deadpool. Unless you consider the Merc with no Mouth in X Men Origins as “Deadpool”. How exactly would Nolan Imitate Ryan when The first DP movie hadn’t even come out yet? Did they bother researching even a little bit for this video? Nolan voiced him in 2009 and 2012 for the videogame and he did a fantastic job.
What I like about the X-Men movies is their sense of individuality, and their ability to think outside the box
Most MCU movies look the same, and they almost never take risks
THere are 30+ MCU movies though compared to 5 or 6 XMen movies.

Excuse me, but that man is Nolan North, and he is not doing a Ryan Reynolds impression. You show him some respect. When Hulk vs. came out, Ryan hadn't been Deadpool yet. So he really couldn't be doing an impression. He later reprised his role in the Deadpool video game and he was fantastic.

Nolan North is more iconic as Deadpool than Ryan Reynolds

That's 8 different movies and in neither of them did I ever felt like I was watching Tom Cruise or the same character in every movie, I was just as Invested in the characters if not more
