I lived there for almost 20yrs and it's hard to imagine what that would have been like to see in person. Eerily reminiscent of when they told everyone to shelter back when they were hunting for the marathon bombers.
Think Sunday morning, but 100x quieter, with ZERO cars on the road. I worked overnights during the pandemic and you could hear a PIN DROP outside. It was bizarre.
@@seanhickey7881 kind of nice if it were empty for a better reason. You can’t legally fly over people or cars so I was excited to fly places normally not possible
Love it! I love Boston! What a gorgeously beautiful city! There’s a seemingly natural balance that the city possesses that few other cities have. Fantastic work, my Friend! Please, more of this of Boston and in a more expansive and extensive and varied form when she's back on her feet thumping and pulsating again! Show Boston to the world! I must add that not only did you produce a fantastic video but a more perfect and and a more fitting sound track could not have been selected!
I remember about that time walking near Mass Ave. and Boylston St. and there was a group of wild turkeys hanging out in the middle of the intersection, not moving!
Awesome video; thanks for posting! Lived in North Quincy and worked at One Financial Center for a couple of years right out of college. Not nearly enough time to take in all of what Boston offers. 👍
I had thought about that... main issue is most of these places I had increased altitude allowance for a period of time and you can't legally fly over people or moving cars... which is why this was a very unique chance to fly during the pandemic
One of America’s great cities. Good people there. I’m laughing watching this because there’s ample parking which, as you know, Boston has no parking ever. Love this video. Makes me crave a north end grinder.
In a city of 5 million people you would think that a few more people would be breaking the rules to take a bike ride and soak in the solitude. It's a bit eery how, with nearly a million in the city proper alone, I didn't even see ten people walking or biking in this video. Like it's in the Twilight Zone.
Hey would it be possible if I used your footage for a film project I'm working on for school? This would be great for the intro and b roll. Please let me know if that could possible, thanks!
Great work. What did you shoot with and what app did you use for clearance? Also in particular what areas of Boston were the hardest to get clearance for?
For many of the shot I gave airspace authorizations in place for a calendar year at increased altitude or in no fly zones. Lots and lots of paperwork to get all this in place. Happy to explain more if you want to email info(at)SchuylerPhoto.com
yes, and no. I've been out almost every day cos I take my Kaly eboard to and from work and it's crowded. Not like before not a ghost town. I go down Boylston, Comm Ave, cut thru the common, and even the esplanade and it's NEVER that dead. Great shots though man!
Beauty and Sadness..what else is there, to improve High Quality Photography? God's mother nature. Lets be sharp and Good.. while we can. Is it possible to legally fly a drone in Boston? I'll be around for a weapon and would love to get mine in the air but all of Boston, is within 5 miles of an airport.
eNeVe Family 100%. Are you a hobbyist? Register your drone with the FAA, put the number on the outside of your drone and use a site or app to request airspace authorization. Boston Logan actually has an 8 mile radius around it for controlled airspace but it’s large enough it’s LAANC enabled. Google LAANC but that’s what makes flying legally possible to altitudes above ground set by Logan, for day time flying only. Shoot me an email if you have question, info (at) SchuylerPhoto.com
Simple question, large answer. All of Boston proper is within 5 miles of Logan so you need airspace approval everywhere. There is a grid system over the city and you can request up to the max height in each grid with little effort using an app like KittyHawk (the grid system is called LAANC if you want to Google it). If you want to fly above that height or in a grid that is a no fly zone (aka 0 altitude) you need permission from Logan and it’s a little bit longer process. I had increased altitude for every location in my video and a few are no fly zones (like near the Zakim) but I have authorizations for there as well.

Such a surreal experience.. Greetings from Europe!
Beautiful photography! It must have taken a huge amount of time to bring this all together. Love it.

Damn, I miss Boston. Lived there 25 years before moving back to Colombia.
It’s a great city, come visit
We miss you too!
Beautiful work. Thank you for sharing.
Great job! The city, though empty, looks amazing.
In the future when they make documentaries about covid 19 for history buffs this video will be worth money !
Thanks for the kind words. I was happy to capture these unique empty scenes
Very nice. I love it. You captured my favorite city beautifuly. Thanks for sharing.
Adnan glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching
Amazing video! Made me want to pull out my drone again. Thanks for sharing.
This is some 🔥🔥🔥! Incredible🙌🏿 master of space and movement!
Amazing video. Should try to recreate some of those same shots today and dissolve them together.

breath taking
love Boston, greetings from Chile
Hello and greetings from Boston
New subscriber here! A great video, it's beautiful, we only stayed on the Cambridge side for drone videos, thanks for sharing!
Thanks Zack
beautiful
So surreal and I’m finding time to be all a blur since March 2020.
Incredible and amazing
Thank you 🙏🏼
Hauntingly beautiful, Schuyler. Well done.
Thanks Alex! This was something I really wanted to put together to freeze this point in time. A lot of paperwork ahead of time!
So eerie. Great job.
EPIC! Amazing and eerie at the same time!
David Stewart Productions thanks for the compliment!

3:01 gives me chills
I’m so satisfied with this one and capturing these crazy times
So pretty. And eerie.
Thanks Adam. Definite a strange feeling early in the morning. Feels like a movie set.
They need to do something about the traffic in Boston. We are tired of getting off work at 5PM and having to wait until 7PM to drive out of the city.
Not when this was filmed! But yes agree, normally traffic is a major issue
It become my dream place to see one day
hermoso trabajo commovedoramente hermoso
Bravo sir. Wow that is incredible work.
Thanks for the kind words
Amazing!
Nice eye for angles right locations, Can't wait to get back to the North End for an Italian grinder!
This is fantastic, thank you. My husband, Jim Skerry, shared it with me. Now I’m going to post it everywhere.
It looks surreal
It truly was
Very pretty! My dream live in this state!
My hometown beauty but expensive and with COVID-19🦠😷not helping metropolitan Boston but we'll be fine in the end😇
COVID-19 will probably make it cheaper in the long run as more people “tele-commute” to work and live outside the city.
Epic
Nice job

It was early but yeah Boston was very quiet. This was during the mandatory lock down
WOW AMAZING
Looks Stunning of Photography and Videography! but Its not really a empty major city, like at all.
Amazing video!
Amazing... Schuyler, let’s hope you never make a sequel.
MagnumWPI agreed! Unless it’s this weekend.
were are all the electric unicycle riders?

David Puffer week days are definitely busier than weekends. Time of day matters also.
@@SchuylerOrtega Yes, I wondered what time of day these were shot. Sunrise I would guess?
Cydney Scott yeah it was early both days. 6-9am time frame
My favorite place is the Baasten Gaaaaden.
Looks apocalyptic..
Felt it too! Very strange times in a city that I hope we never repeat.
@@SchuylerOrtega
I grew up there, I know how busy it can be..
Hey great photos! Is it ok if I use it for an ad?
Hey Riiky, shoot me an email at “info (at) SchuylerPhoto.com” if you’d like to discuss licensing some footage
Hey Schulyer, I'd like to use a snippet of this in a project. Ok with a courtesy credit?
Hello. Please shoot me some information at info@SchuylerPhoto.com
Its empty because it's likely 6am on a Sunday morning.
It was early but definitely significantly less crowded than normal. This shot over 3 days.
Lots of top of buildings and seems to be filmed at about sunrise IMO

Wow! How did you get shots of empty streets/city like that? 5AM ????
It was early but also the peak of the COVID lock down period on the city.
It was so good for our environment though now we are back to pre pandemic smog/pollution levels😳.
The empty city?
Does anyone lives there?👻👀
Can I purchase some footage from you?
