Kodaikanal: Princess of Hills | Episode 2 | Poombarai Village | Kodaikanal Village Tour

Referred to as the “Princess of Hills”, Kodaikanal is one of the most sought-after hill station destinations in Tamil Nadu and the whole of India. Located at about 7000 ft above the sea-level, Kodaikanal was established as a destination by British bureaucrats and Christian missionaries in the year of 1845.
✅We covered most of the spots of Kodaikanal in two days. In this video we described our first day village circuit tour. In this village tour we covered some of the most beautiful but extremely offbeat places of Kodaikanal. As we mentioned in our previous video we checked in Hotel Vel’s Cliff in Kodaikanal and in the next day enjoyed the charming views of Kodaikanal Village Circuit.
✅This day after taking breakfast from hotel we first visited Kurinji Andavar Temple, named after Kurinji flower that blooms once in every 12 years. We moved another 5 km to reach the UPPER LAKE VIEW POINT (7300 ft)
✅After that we forward towards Poombarai village and en route enjoyed the spectacular view from Palani Hill View Point. Next we visited Sri Mahalaxmi Peedam, a beautiful temple. After crossing a little bit distance we got a point from where the distant view of beautiful Poombarai village. And then finally we reached the POOMBARAI MURUGAN TEMPLE in Poombarai village. This temple is said to be around 3000 years old.
✅After that we moved towards Mannavanaur Ship and Rabbit farm, which is around 15 kms from Poombarai. In Mannavanaur we visited the variety of rabbits and as sheeps in Southern Regional Reasearch Centre there. Just behind the sheep and rabbit farm there is a spectacular view of meadows and distant lake view amidst lush greenery. Thereafter we went to the Mannavanaur Eco Tourism Centre and Mannavanaur Lake.
✅While returning to Kodaikanal we visited the Kakkayam View Point and finally covered all the target places for that memorable day.
