This is possible quin, I've done it personally. One of my biggest tips is make use of stasis+ and use bombs early on. Switch between circle and square bombs consistently to negate the timer.

@@QuinBoBin Yeah btw there's one room in the beginning trials I'm convinced is actually impossible without sneak strike chaining like not even the might of the unlimited fancy blue bombs can make it through the room. though the room is easy once you efficiently learn to chain sneak strikes.

Tip, 1: never let any boko or moblin touch a spear (they have an instant attack that’s practically Unreactable unless you know it’s coming) if they do touch a spear make them die to death or use electricity to make them drop their weapon. 2: upgrade your runes, you’ll mostly use bombs in the first couple of rounds and upgrading them makes them spamable. And practically spam stasis+ because it literally invalidates the Hinox and stone talus fights. 3: eat attack up food and extra heart food before you go in (to make 30 min attack up food you can use 3 mighty bananas (or mighty porgy) 1 mighty thistle and 1 dragon horn (doesn’t matter which one)

best strat, make an attack/defense meal, but add a scale from one of the dragons. It boosts the time to around 30 mins so you should be god tier lil green man for a long while! hope this helps!

I had to look up a guide for the first trial on master mode. The weapons they give simply don't do enough flat damage and you have to strategize and utilize buffs and stealth kills. It really enlightened me on how versatile (and painful) the combat could be. I know a Japanese player 100% completed the entire game on master mode with only weapons like torches, pitchforks, pot lids and wooden bows, and their strategy for the trials involves a lot of environmental damage (burning enemies with a torch, luring enemies into campfires, drowning enemies, etc). It was very eye-opening.

Tips for this: upgrade your runes!! lots of bomb and stasis usage helps, try to single them out, get attack or defence food (add a dragon horn for 30 mins. Personally, I prefer attack up food, but if youd rather have them cause less damage then obviously go for defence), use arrows to prevent regen, sneakstrikes are your friend!! You can use a bomb to distract them and then lock them in a sneaksrike cycle

I remember having to suffer through this stupid trial like this. It's only when you start out short on supplies and stuff that it's crazy hard, so big props to trying it out, it's definitely one of the hardest things in this game!

using a two-handed weapon is usually bad in this scenario unless you jump cancel or are fighting a talus/hinox/stationary guardian the best option would be to use a spear for the enemies with stronger weapons for range and not getting hit and using a club for the weaker ones, I find that this holds up until about halfway through the second trials because there are a lot more bow-wielding enemies. I'm sure you can pull it off as you are ultimately superior and the perfect lifeform. anyway good luck,

Hey quin. Something to help is get 5 hearty durians and cook them all together. It will give a full recovery + 20-21 extra hearts that you can use for the sword trials. You can find some by looking through the forest at the bottom of the map where lake floria is or you can buy some from different places like gerudo town.

Ah, back in the _other_ timeline. Our memories weren't reset and Binkus remains healthy, so we do not embark on an adventure anew. This continuation... what unfinished business do we have here? It's simple:
The Master Sword hungers.
Quin has no choice but to sate its thirst for blood, its hunger for violence. Shouldn't _he_ be wielding _the sword?_ And yet, as he digs the blade into the rock he pulled it from time & time again, being beaten & burned in the trials prepared for him, it seems the sword has taken the role of the commanding force. Fate tied them together, bound by their souls, and now Fi has decided that it's _her_ turn to pull at the chain. He fights, again and again, over and over. He feels the strike of a club, the endless stabbing and pokings of various spears, the slashings of swords that only remind him of the empty weight on his back. Where is the sword? Why is it not with him? How do these brutal fights sharpen The Master Sword's blade if during he cannot wield it within his hands, as he was meant to? In the end, before, it was "awakened." To what, exactly? What accursed challenge is this, and why is he subjecting himself to it _again?_
A sneak strike breaks Quin out of his philosophical spiral, and so *once again we shall rest.*

A high level defense boost gives you quite a bit of armor points, which helps a LOT in the trial. Especially early on. It makes any mistakes you make not matter so much.

As someone who did this once, yeah this is incredibly hard to do. It took me more tries than doing a master mode playthough while never upgrading health, never using revives, and never using temp health items.

Doing a great job man the audio was great I think you did good it was hard and that sneak strike it was good he got you real good at the very end but you'll get him in the end if you believe hahaha have a good day be safe
Quick tips:
* Defense buffs are more useful than attack buffs because they let you survive for longer to learn how to clear each level more efficiently.
* Set the Sheikah Sensor to track down Treasure Chests. There's a lot of useful stuff hidden in hard-to-see chests.
* Use Magnesis to turn metal crates into improvised weapons, especially against enemies with a lot of health, to conserve weapon durability. Moving them with the motion sensor instead of the directional stick inflicts more damage because damage is proportional to the speed of the blow.
* Fight smart and dirty. Sneak Strikes, headshots on archers, set enemies on fire, throw non-Lizalfos into the water so they'll drown, set off explosive barrels with fire arrows or launch them with Stasis, use electricity if it's raining or the enemies are standing on water, freeze groups of enemies with the charge attack of the Ice/Blizzard Rod and then kill them one by one, etc.
Honestly I tried Master Mode for like a few hours but it was so annoying to spend so long killing enemies from afar or going in to break everything you own even your soul. So I just gave up and made some personal rules for replaying normal mode to make it harder for myself. I was so tense watching this. But it was fun! Glad you're moved, hope you can get set up and comfy soon ^^
The trial of sword is fun. Except for the last level because i forgot to save ancient arrows for the lynel. Still beat it tho so thats a plus. Anyway love watching your vids and keep it up dude
don't forget in botw there is flurry rushes and bullet time(once you have a bow). also, I recently invested time to learn some glitches like the thunderclap rush(essentially a flurry rush without dodging). maybe i just like cool looking fights, but in my opinion they are worth learning. good luck quin!

Hey Quin, not sure how useful this will be, but I recommend doing Flurry Rushes for some bigger hordes. Since they clump together, it gives you a chance to do damage to each member of the clump simultaneously. However you also have the problem of not being able to dodge other incoming attacks so... Yeah, it's tough to pull off. Also, don't rush the levels :)
i've beaten this but never thought to do the whistling to distract. Good idea! I recommend getting extra hearts with a durian meal and maybe getting a 30 min attack up potion with a dragon scale and bananas

Quin have you tried flurry rushing when there's an enemy who comes out of no where behind you just do the side hop and it might give you a flurry rush it happens to me a lot. I love you big man bingus your videos always make me happy

first level of trial of the sword on master mode is basically impossible without lvl 3armour (if ur a normal player) so definelty recommend cooking that (dragon horn shard and armour ingredients) u only like a quarter heart damage instead of 6 hearts. the first trials are also the hardest one middle and final trials are a lot easier because elemental enemies don’t scale in health. so if u finish beginning trials u can do middle and final with ur eyes closed… also the hardest room of all trials are in the beginning trials (the round room with the lizards) it took me ages to finish it on master mode 😩

Here's a fun little video idea for ya Quin. With the skew trick used for speedrunning, you can clip out of the first room, and explore all the areas... And yes, you can beat it that way.

Might already have said this in your previous attempt but... I think it's just a good advice.
So in this trail of the sword, there will be a room where you will see 2 silver lezalfoses and a black one.
You will have to do some preparation for this room...
First, you have to take a boko spear, bows, and 2 weapons that deal at least 15 dmg. When you spawn in the room, activate your cinetis and you start walking forward and just before the 1st lizard sees you, you block whim with cinetis. Then, shoot as much arrows at his face as you can. Try to stay far from him though. When he will take the bullets, the 2 other ones will move to the ladder. Shoot another arrow to the ladder. Wait until they're sleeping again and crouch. Equip your boko spear and go to the right lizard. Make sure none of the 2 see you. When you're behind his back, do a surprise attack (with your boko spear). Then, change quickly of weapon to a weapon that does around 18 dmg. Still crouched, get to his face when he's still shocked. When he wakes up, he will turn around and you will be able to do another surprise attack. Turn around again, STAY WITH THE SAME WEAPON and do it again. Do it again until he dies. Make sure the other one doesn't see you.
Then, take your boko spear again and do the exact same thing with the other one.
It's really important to equip the boko spear for the first hit because otherwise, the lizard will fall into the water and you will die...
Also, don't forget that you can make a potion of strength +++ that lasts for 30 mins with a dragon horn and 4 bananas. The bonus will stay for the trials.
Also, do the first floor with your bombs only, if you're good at it, you can even parry your own bombs !
Make hearty food with a hearty truffle, big hearty radish, hearty durian, and a hearty bass. It'll give you about 10 to 13 extra hearts. Also for sneak strikes stay crouched, and walk slowly. Even if your crouched they might here you if you're too fast. Also get JUST close enough that the sneak strike option pops up. If you're too close to them they'll instantly turn around so you want to be about a foot away from them.

on the 4th level you can climb the lookout tower first, and throw the bomb barrels at them from up top
and then fly down to the top of the structure and use the metal boxes. then you can save your weapons. You should look at the no damage speed runs, they're amazing!!
Bit of advice for this challenge. Combine 4 power items like Mighty Thistle or Mighty Banana's with 1 Dragon Horn to get a meal that gives you full strength up for 30 minutes, and drink it before you enter the trials.

oh lord, this took me forever. gotta get stasis+ to freeze those damn lizalfos in round 2. and go sleep in the extra beds at the inns to get a couple extra hearts or stamina (you might be able to get both). and one more, use a wooden shield & let enemies shoot arrows into your shield, you can pocket infinite arrows until it breaks

Maybe do this after beating it the normal way, but you can clip through the walls and just fight the first level hinox with a metal box for all 3 rounds. The game registers what level you go into it as and that you beat the final boss, so you can get the fully upgraded master sword just by fighting the same hinox 3 times. Its also fun to wonder around out of bounds. Big field with physics defying water
I'm only a few minutes in and I'm already worried about what happens, I've completed the trail of the sword in normal mode and it was only the first trail. I honestly am too scared to try and do the other trail since the first one honestly made me so panicked and stressed, but I congratulate you on your bravery and willingness to try and do the trail of the sword in master mode. I can already tell it's going to be harder by the fact enemies can heal and all that fun stuff that's in master mode.
The first one is the hardest
I've beat all the trials three times. Twice on master mode.
It's important to break up groups and fight enemies one on one. Lure one of them away with arrows or something, then kill them. Sneak strikes are great, like you've found. Be sure to watch the monster's animations. There were a lot of flurry rushes you could have easily gotten in this video but I assume you were tunnel visioned on something else each time. Watch the enemy, not yourself.
Sometimes it's good to hit all attacks except the last one, because the last one sends them flying away. If an enemy drops an item and they want to pick it up, they'll tunnel vision on it. So you can slap them 3 times with a sword, then wait a second for link to end the attack animation, then hit 3 or so more times. So long as the enemy doesn't pick up their item and you don't hit them away, you can stun lock them until they die. Same goes for enemies with a bow. Hit them several times, stop hitting before the knockback slap comes out, then do it again. There are so many ways to cheese monster AI
Also do the tree food strat if you're getting hit at least once on most levels

Also, with the advent of IST, you could activate invalid star before going in so that you can durability transfer and duplicate weapons.
Quin, in case you didn't know, I'm pretty sure sneak striking doesn't use weapon durability. Also, to chain sneak strikes, because enemies will turn around when you sneak strike them, go in front of them and they will turn around and ignore you. (Sounds too good to be true but it is true)
