Funky Fables: Alice in Wonderland (1988?) - Highest Quality

- This video was a mess to put together. I actually have 2 different VHS releases of it. One of them is an LP recording with linear mono audio, and the other is an EP recording with Hi-Fi stereo audio, so one has better video, and the other has better audio. Complicating matters further, the LP tape runs 13.27% faster for some reason, and it also had some bad fields that needed to be dropped, a problem clearly caused during mastering, which caused movement to be jerky in many scenes. It's obvious that the EP tape was produced from a different master because the opening credits were redone.
Anyway, I took the video from the LP tape and the audio from the EP tape, the latter sped up with pitch correction to match the video (I have no idea which one actually runs at the correct speed). The Funky Fables logo is only on the EP tape, and the end credits are only on the LP tape, which is why the video and audio are worse quality for those portions respectively.
We're not sure exactly when this was made, though it was likely 1988 or 1989. It was dubbed in English in 1991. If anyone has any more info, please let us know!
"We haven't had a queen around here since Susie Hoffenpheffer was named queen of the car wash!"
This line is in a children's cartoon from the 90s, and I'm dying.
I don't get it.

The idea of Alice just running with the whole idea of wonderland into an amusement park is just a true case of becoming a billionaire.

That's because it is.
Released by the studio Funky Fables in 1992.
Everyone knows. They’re talking about the original Japanese release.
Oh my gosh I found this. Thank you for uploading it. I always watched it as a kid.
This was my childhood, I remember watching this when I was like maybe 11-12, I don't know QwQ
The quality of this is amazing
Thanks so much! I love this. 💜💜💜🤩 Had when I was a kid on vhs and I’m 32 and still love it!
Me too! It brings back so many memories
Me three I was a kid
The cards keep calling Alice baby a bunch of times 😂
That made me die of laughter lol!! It gave me Johnny Bravo vibes, since they all try to speak like Elvis lol! 😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👏👏👏👏
7:28 I am so big I could be the center on a basketball
Oh, no! Alice is my cry
Very simple, but at the same time funny "Alice".
A red headed Alice is an interesting style choice
I like how it's paired with her yellow dress, nice warm Fall colors.
She looks more brunette than red head but yeah I love character designs too. Very cute
I love her.
Very pretty character design they went with!
@@criminallyautistic8372 Her hair could be auburn or titian.
I have never heard of this before.
This style looks familiar…

Alice in Wonderland: The Anime!
One of the many anime versions that exist!
The Anime The abridged dub
I imagine myself as Alice
why are her tears circles 👁👄👁
I think its just how its animated. I think this is some sort of anime.
22:09 White Rabbit (Pink Rabbit actually): The Queen of Hearts baked a rutabaga and turnip pie when it was done she put it on the windowsill the smell made everyone sick then The Jack of Hearts came along and stole it.
10:57 Poor Bill, that was very rude of Alice for hurting a poor animal.
It happened in the book, that's why it's there. It was omitted from the Disney film adaptation, among very few other things.
@MarioMcFly I know. That's the part of the book that I hated. Still to this day, I don't understand why alice did it to Bill. She could have killed him.
It was an accident
@jan.i.ripton No, she did it on purpose. She planned to kick Bill out of the chimney.
Wow, a version that keeps the orange marmalade bit.
This looks so cute! This is probably one of the few other anime adaptations of Alice in Wonderland.
My favorite ❤️
It looks like the same art as the Peter Pan animated
The show is from 1991!
Hello curiouser archive I was hoping you could video of george shrink episodes Becky in wonderland or tv commercial of 1999 alice in wonderland
20:00 - 20:25 This has to be the best joke in the whole video.
12:51 WHY DOES SHE TURN WIDE LMFAO
Becoming wider is also a way of getting bigger. Especially when turning into obese girl that is the height of an ant and width of a blueberry.
In this Alice in wonderland her sister does not do a face reveal.
15:05 Chesire Cat
I can't be the only one who thinks the Chesire Cat's laugh sounds similar to Frank Gorshin as the Riddler
what do you mean this isn't an animator's attempt at a found footage cartoon
15:56 The March Hare’s house and The Mad Hatter’s tea party
10:29 - 10:34 Here's some meaningful humor.
Flamingos and hedgehogs are not standard equipment…ya think?
Hello Curiouser, can you please put Alice through the looking glass in 1959?
Hello! To be honest, I'm a little confused about what you're asking for, since I'm not aware of a TV or film adaptation from 1959. Are you by any chance talking about the LPs with Jane Asher? If so, then unfortunately, we're not going to post those because we don't collect audio adaptations.
@@CuriouserArchive Thank you so much for finding this. I have a history with this adaptation. I was in Middle School back in 2012. I take ADHD meds and one time my doctor decided to double the dose. The problem was the side effects were heart palpitations. It was awful and at the time I kept thinking I was gonna have a heart attack. I went home early and I was just miserable and quite scared. Didn't help that my grandmother was dying in the hospital at the same time. To make a long story short, I came across this same video from a RUclips channel by the name of "Uncle Sporko", I think? And I thought this was the funniest and faithful adaptation I've seen yet. While it did take my mind of off it I did eventually forgot about it. Two days later my doctor gave me my medication with the original dose so my heart palpitations dissapeared. A week later my grandmother passed away and I was heartbroken. Then i saw this video in my recommended, like an old friend paying me a visit just at the right time. Since then I've legit watched it non stop. Years later I see your channel, of course I'm in Alice neervhana then a year ago from now I saw you uploaded this and I thought, "My old friend is back again." As I type this I'm getting a tad emotional. Long "dry" story aside, thank you so much for reintroducing me to this GEM of a cartoon I appreciate it immensely. Y'all never disappoint. ♥️

Why does the Mad Hatter talk like Gilbert Gottfried?
Because it’s funny
She's not as bonny as the Disney Alice, but that big hair-bow's so sweet! And the Mad Hatter's cuter, in this version.
What year was this released?
We don't have an exact year for this one. Either 1988 or 1989. It was dubbed in English in 1991.
