Hey everyone! Thanks for watching! Just an FYI, if you ever get a reply claiming to be from me saying you won some kind of competition and to dm on telegram, it's a scam! Cops have the ability to follow through with an investigation and press charges regardless of the victim's willingness to press charges. This was just an easy excuse for them to not do police work when a drugging, kidnapping, and imprisonment sorta seems like it would warrant at least a look and a few questions. Clearly, the police didn't give a crap, and even if charges were pressed, they wouldn't follow through most likely.. saying this was just "some queers having fun". They believed the killer when he pretty much told them that. This happens far too often. The police are to blame, not the victims.

But I guarantee you there is no prosecutor that will follow through with those charges without victim cooperation. If there is no witness to testify there is no trial. Not only that, they fear being labeled 'homophobic' which could mean disciplinary action - so, if it appears consensual, cops will tend to look the other way. (That's what happened in the Dahmer case).

Yes, exactly. When I heard that phone call from one of the victims, & he plainly stated he didn't want the matter pursued & he just wanted to go home, I knew that was exactly what was going to transpire. Unfortunately most cities or counties are overwhelmed & understaffed, & if someone requests they don't want to pursue a matter....more times than not, that is exactly what is going to occur.
Like it or not, victims, even though they are severely traumatized, do have a responsibility to prosecute their perpetrator(s). If they do not, then what happened to them will most definitely occur again to yet another innocent person. Sad but true.

They affect our lives because we choose to let them. They exert their will through a way of life they sell us and we buy. To opt out of that delusion is completely doable. Many don't subscribe to their manipulation. This evil guy was motivated by a sick broken mind that didn't even serve himself. Luring people in to satisfy an urge he overtime adopted. That to me is way scarier than some group planning for world domination, through our own desires and weaknesses. Sensless torture and killing, with no motivation. Or reason. Same. I am sure it’s terrifying, so terrifying and the scariest thing that could ever happen to someone, and very hard but how will you live with yourself if you could have had someone prosecuted but they were left free and then killed someone. My thing would be, what if they’re given a slap on the wrist and now they’ll have a grudge against me for getting them in trouble, they know my full name and will have my address (they’re legally allowed to face their accuser, and a photo of your identification would be in the legal discovery from the prosecution). My family, myself, my friends, id never really feel safe. But then again knowing they’re out there free at all I wouldn’t feel safe. I just stay away from strangers as much as possible and definitely wouldn’t go to a strangers house. Now that I’m older. However in my stupid younger days, I definitely went to random peoples places I met at bars or thru other friends to hang out. Stupid kid.

As a survivor, unfortunately, I totally understand the person escaping not wanting to go thru the compounded trauma of trying to press charges when assaulted. I kept a plastic bag holding a sanitary object that was removed as part of a violent assault for weeks because more than anything I wanted to go report and attempt to receive justice, but being aware that I wasn't a perfect victim, I eventually accepted just being grateful for surviving, and I often pray that I never come across a case bearing my attacker's face and a date after my assault because so often victims are not believed & you revictimize yourself with no results other than further damage to yourself because of how assault victims are handled and treated in the good old USA. I would hate to know someone else was hurt but I also doubt my report would have done a damn thing - that would have, more likely than not, required my corpse, not my testimony.

I watch very little true crime, hubby watches some stuff I don't, but I don't judge him for it. It is human to be fascinated by the highs and lows of humanity and there are many human ways to deal with the latter, dark humour being just one. And yes, I have known a murderer, 2 traumatized families of killers, and a victim and their traumatized loved ones. Many of the people who suffer through the repercussions of such crimes have some pretty dark humour - it's not everyone's taste, but there are many reactions to death and tragedy. You don't have any moral authority over that.
Why pick on a RUclipsr - one that is relatively benign compared to some that revel in every grisly detail or do cheesy re-enactments, stock photos, sell serial killer merch - when major networks literally make millions on the same crimes from the news to Dr. Phil to movies of the week? Watch true crime in doc form, watch the grisly version, don't watch it at all, whatever. But frankly, your obsession with That Chapter is almost as creepy as some of the people being covered. I live about an hour south of Swartz Creek and I remember when this happened. I grew up in Detroit and I've seen/heard some crazy things, but this is by far the most disturbing crime I've heard of happening in Michigan in my lifetime. Kevin seemed like a truly sweet guy. You can see it in his face. Also, the proper term is "Michigander". I think "Michiganian" sounds cooler, but what can you do? lol

Hi TC. Mike you are one of the best channels on You Tube. Always looking forward to your shows. This story is sooooo gross & unbelievable! How can anyone enjoy being that damn crazy? Thinking something like that doesn't even enter my mind at all! Although I've actually hated people in my life & sometimes wished they were never in it, all that gives you more reason not to have them in your life at all. RIP Kevin. Peace & hope your having a happy & pleasant evening, love, Janine Smiley 🙂😀😎😇🌝🌞🏡✌👍🙏🆒️💯❕❗💋❤👀👣🇺🇸🇬🇧

Michigander. That's what we call ourselves.
This story was all over the news and I remember it very clearly. I drove through that area a couple times a month while traveling to visit my dad. I had friends that lived in the area and used grindr. For a little bit there I was so scared there were more crazies out there going to lure my friends in.

I do wanna say it's a relief having the murderer at least admit they committed the crime. It's so infuriating when they don't.

11:50 I was literally typing out that this reminded me of Dahmer when you said it. Yeah it's horrible how many cops will ignore clear warning signs like this when it's happening to anyone who isn't white. We see so many examples of people of color, sex workers, queer people, heck even animals being repeatedly targeted but cops stand by and do nothing. That story of the cops bringing that boy back to Dahmer's place after he'd escaped still brings rage boiling up in my head when I think about it.

I was thinking the same thing about Dahmer. Mike, thank you for talking about how the police bias ended in the death of Kevin. I realize bias is an understatement, but S C did a great job of explaining exactly what is really going on. There is so much hate in the world at this time and so many people with a sense of entitlement and no one calling them out on their behavior. It is really getting scary.

If I was a cop, I would go out of my way to make sure that if a person is exclaiming that they have "escaped a killer " you just treat their claims as true

@@BoxOKittens Maybe you need a brain instead you ignoramus. The cops cannot do anything if a criminal report is not made. Blame the two cowards who were willing to let this guy go without pressing charges instead of the police officers who couldn't do anything about it. I seriously think some of you people have literal brain damage from using the internet too much. Here is a thought for you, go look up how law enforcement actually works.

I've watched quite a few videos on this case and it always gets to me. However, there are several things you mentioned that I didn't know about this case.. I never knew that creep was married! 🤮
Thanks for always giving the victims a voice Mike 🙏💖
