Fashion Critic Reacts to Tik Tok Front Row Fashion Challenge

- Tik Tok has become a hub of fashion creativity since it really popped off in early 2020. Its biggest stars like Noah Beck works with Louis Vuitton, Dixie D'Amelio works with Chanel & her sister Charli D'Amelio works with Prada, cementing the fashion industries' relationship with the app. But for those not getting big brand deals, the idea of creativity pushes them to think of new viral challenges and videos. Andie Johnson, otherwise know as @Andoej on Tik Tok invented this What I'd Wear Sitting Front Row at Fashion Shows Challenge, and many clamored to create their own! I got tagged in so many of these videos and had so much fun watching them that I thought I had to make a video! If you loved a certain video go check out the creator's Tik Tok and if you didn't love the creator's content, don't be hateful :)

Ok but eve lily or whatever her name was should get extra points for evoking the brands without using any of their actual products and thrifting her fits. I mean ya obviously your outfit will look like the brand if you wear the brand's products
exactly what I was thinking
Fully agree!
don't think I'll ever be attending fashion shows (much less in a front row) but I'd actually feel kind of silly wearing the products of the brand in question? do people do that? it seems just too obvious
@@thetheodora2371 ALOT people who sit in front row are paid by brand. So they wear that brand clothes
@@thetheodora2371 if you’re sitting front row you’re kind of expected to, as a way to pay homage
My favorite one is the girl who did Shein, Fashion Nova, Walmart and Forever 21... bc MOOD
Do you have a time stamp for that?
@@meme0218 I think it's around 09:07
@@shinaomisanya5367 that doesn’t make you broke but you saving money and not spending money on stupid stuff just to show off.
@@dove797 Sad but true!!! There must be a way to make fashion more sustainable 👏
@@dove797 a lot of mainstream designer does the same tho :/
I saw some “influencer” on ig doing the same challenge but the moral of story she wasn’t wearing the style of the brand she was wearing a piece of that brand
What’s her @
@@maramawittilahun6233 i forgot i saw someone sharing her reel in their story
this was such a short story. I loved it.
@@maramawittilahun6233 I think she meant @leoniehanne , cuz she did this challenge with real pieces of the brands and actually made it look good and interesting. she also has a lot of other great posts so make sure to check her out!
He is like that highschool teacher that will tell you your answer is not wrong but you're not there yet
So confused if this is just a flexing challenge or creative people being resourceful and knowing the style of each brand. Could easily see people using this as showing off products of the brand. But if they are just styling to the brand, it reminds me of Tyra Banks acting differently at each audition.
I think it started with creative people demonstrating their understanding of the brand and got quickly adopted by the flex culture hence aliyah jay
agreed, would be cooler to see this without items of the brand, maybe even thrift store finds etc
Well eve lily thrift a few of the pieces in the tiktoks as I don't recognise those pieces form the designer brands, and I think that's pretty awesome tbb
This is why we don’t have fashion shows or invite them to high fashion shows😂
I didn’t see this as flexing, I just saw this to find cool ideas to wear to look boujee 😂
I have to admit that to me- those who used the actual pieces from the brands didn't hit the mark. Blasting a logo/monogram is just zero effort. This game works much better when you're using items that don't belong to the fashion house.
The girl at around 10:00 - her Gucci looks more like Miu Miu, the Valentino looks more like a McQueen and the McQueen looks more like... no.
That dog served though!
I was thinking that the Valentino looks more like McQueen resort 2019 as well.
agreeeed
I liked her!
That’s what I thought, it looks very kitschy which is very Miu Miu, she kinda looks like a strawberry which I see as something Miu Miu would put down the runway
"i hate this. i think that's the indicator to me that this is sooo jacquemus" this took me out lmaooo
He sitting there looking like a Power Ranger at a job interview judging these people AND I AM LIVING!!
🤣🤣
Power ranger 😭😭
Hahahaha omg I know but I am also living
This comment has me dead🤣
When you have to fight Rita repulsa at 8 but you have a job interview at 9
Eve Lily absolutely killed it. She didn’t use any of their actual products but did such a good job putting together the outfits. Her one was definitely my favorite from this trend.
Luke: “I don’t think i turn looks like that”
The Look: 👁👄👁
someone should do one including D&G and Philip Plein but the seats are emtpy lol
please😭😭😭
What about PP now?
@@SoWhosGae idk, maybe because they used Kobe Bryant's helicopter crash as an inspiration for their fashion show shortly after it happened? Maybe that's why
@@esml373 Wat? Wtf!
@@SoWhosGae they also ripped off one of Amina Muaddi's designs 🤮
I think it would be a good concept to go over fashion houses and brand and list characteristics of each of them. Maybe also a look throughout the years of their evolution.
i think he does do that in his other vids he just doesn’t condense everything into one comprehensive vid bc it might not be so feasible. but he does talk abt diff iconic fashion runways and stuff ?
yes please!!
I thought he does that already
Yes!!!!
“It could be a little bit more UGLY, if I’m being frank” 😂 Gucci roast.
Hi Luke, there’s an interesting Korean show called high school style icon. It’s about Korean high school students compete in different fashion challenges. Would you please do a reaction video to it?
It’s a different approach from next in fashion or project runway.
Pls!!! It's so good!!
Where can I watch it ?
Is it on any streaming services?
oooh where can u watch it?
@@malvikachaudhry3443 it’s on RUclips
Lmaoo the way you reacted to the Celine “oof we’ll get to that” 😂😂 the disappointment is palpable
i was just about to comment this 😭
Passed by this comment at the exact moment.
Hahahaha the dog's challenge is on POINT !
18:51 give my slavic granny her coin for inventing this look
facts
when he called it 'sexy' i cracked up
I don’t know a single fuckin thing about fashion but I love watching these videos cause of the knowledge you have lol. It’s crazy to me. I’m just here to support and enjoy.
ugh the motiankari and aaliyahjay looks lowkey made me mad. just because you walk into these designers' stores and buy the most basic instagram streetwear items doesn't mean you are channeling the designers' aesthetics. there is a difference between loving fashion and loving brand names just to flex. honestly, do better!
eve lily and dezaiin snapped though.
Luke, I would love to watch a fashion review of “Confessions of a shopaholic”
yesssss
Yes!!
Hi Luke, for a video idea is it ok if you do a video all about giving advice for finding youe own personal style and fashion aesthetic in clothing; when you are not as rich go buy designer or better quality items or having trouble looking for their size or taste in garments. I know yoh have said to not buy fast fashion, but it is difficult if sustainable shops don't sell interesting garments or your taste. And its hard to find sizes you know. I am a chubby UK size 14, and I am interested in garments like square neck tops/ dresses; maybe pinafore dresses or jumpsuits thats tight on me; puff sleeves; wide leg or boot leg trousers; and I think more on the feminine side for me. But its hard to find good stuff that fits and I can buy, as I am currently a student. Been a case if getting rid of more clothes than buying new ones. Also whenever I look for inspiration on RUclips I rarely see outfits in line with what I like or I would feel confident in wearing. I quite like the aesthetic of like a 1960s-1970s detective on a tea/coffee break; or more feminine like pink and soft materials. Maybe like a slight nod to the 70s but more a tight silhouette as opposed to that shapeless garments popular of the time? Its hard to find RUclipsrs or brands like that. What be interested to hear your advice or finding interesting clothing more mainstream for a wide audience :)
Would be a dope video! But just an idea if you’re looking for chic, sustainable options, never underestimate the potential of a thrifting :)
@@giovannib1834 Problem is in England charity shops are not exciting and for clothes its mainly like things aimed at a older age rather than something for a cool outfit for someone like me at 20. Also they rarely have something my size :/
u should check out bestdressed's how to find your style vid- I also look at collection ! after forming a board, u will see yr preferred styles. for clothes, just buy ff and wear it for a long time lol
The real real and thred up are great online thrift/consignment sights! I have several designer pieces from the real real I never would have been able to afford at full price!
If you want to find about personal styles on many types of body, see channels like what people wear in ny in karen britchic vlogs and style photo blogs, I don't think Luke is that style channel, he's more concerned for fashion as art. Also this is what I did but try to do diy or modifying clothes by your own, youtuber withwendy is pretty great on that. I like to buy vintage designer and rework them to resell, it can be a future work for you too if you're interested in fashion.
I love most of the Gucci looks even with their grandma/grandpa vibes . It’s tasteful and can go from simple to really over the top and I’m obsessed 💕
oh hell yesssss i was thinking “luke would love to react to this”
I knowwwwww
I neeeeeed you to do a video on your top 10 looks from RuPauls Drag race ever!! I need to know who your favorite fashion queens are
I KNOW violet chachki, Aquaria and Gigi Goode will be on the list if he ever does that video
Would also love to see Crystal and Utica

@@Lwoods1717 Raja for me is the ultimate!! But definitely love Violet Aquaria and Gigi too

I'm so glad you made this. I saw this Tik Tok trend & immediately wondered what you'd think about some of these fits 😬
Honey ATE and left no crumbs
and yessss fo more these PLEASE.
5:31 the dior look...it's basic, it does what it's supposed to but it's nothing inspiring...which is pretty spot on for mgcs dior. A+
22:04 the casablanca look is SPOT.ON. the brands vibe is like Scarf prints on silk shirts and denim, layered pearl necklaces, boucle tweed jackets etc.He nailed it.
I was so mad bcs every time i see this kind of tiktok they actually make outfit but dont know what is the signature of the brand like they just call it ooo its fit for dior or like prada like gurl do some research first and then make the tiktok
How much research do they need to do, Isn't the aim to just show what YOU would wear to a particular brands runway show?
@@nordette Yeah, but even then, people get invited to sit front row to these shows because they KNOW fashion and how to wear it. Even the celebrities that sit front row have stylists than make sure they dress in the brand's style. It's a common courtesy to do so.
@@kimberly338 i dunno i thought they all did the challenge pretty well considering they just pulled stuff from their closet. Lol maybe I'm just easily impressed when it comes to clothes
This is probably my favorite look you’ve rocked so far...: obsessed 🙌🏼
as a long time haute le mode watcher, it is always so pleasant to come back and see the terrific quality and i'm always so happy to see luke again and have tea and talk fashion
these designer brand should invite everyone who did this challenge to their next show it's a good PR move.
Like they need publicity from tiktokers
@@lol-xw4rq I mean for some brands they don’t have a young client base and they’ll need to reach out somehow
Preston Bussell they don't have young client for a REASON. They're luxury brands, they don't want ppl to afford them
it's like 30 seconds of the video and I can't stop looking at your outfit, love it so much.
" i don't think i turn looks like that" me when i lie
An outfit for celine: all black and a celine sweatshirt
I was expecting outfits that embrace the brand, not wearing something from the house😅😅
luke your fit literally took the 75% of my attention than the looks on those videos
I immediately thought of you when I saw this trend coming !! The fact that you reviewed the dog’s outfits so seriously cracked me up 😂😂
"I don't think I turn looks like that"
👁️👄👁️
You always serve looks!
I feel so comforted by a fashion expert calling Gucci ugly,,, I thought I was crazy 😭
the girl that did valentino/mcqueen (i already forgot her name i suck lmao) should've swapped those looks. the mcqueen skirt was too dark for valentino but it was a long poofy skirt that would've worked for valentino... ish. and her red dress with the black corset was hella mcqueen idk why it wasnt a mcqueen look. girl you were so close.
NOT YOU NOT KNOWING ANYTHING ABOUT CASABLANCA... THE LAST SHOW WAS ICONIC!!!!!! PLEASE DO A REVIEW ON IT... at least on tik tok please
"I think it could be a little bit uuuuglieeer" 😂
I LOVE these analyses on the challenges. I’m not heavy into high fashion cause POOR, but this does make me wanna do some research!
Please do a part 2 of this video! This was so enjoyable to watch
He’s going to sit front row at Prada. I’m waiting. Calling it now. Next fashion journalist at vogue (and he’s going to make vogue more ethical)
I think I felt in my bones that this video was coming
There was one that made fun of the trend by doing a Forever 21, Brandy Melville, Urban Outfitters, and something else that was very funny.
i love you and that adorable kick of boot is why I am sitting through a five minute infomercial.. hope they pay you lol - I really like the tone of your vids these days - it's about the fashion and not why it's horrible or cute - breath of fresh air, I tell you, breath of fresh air
I LOVE THE FACT THAT YOU SAY VERSACE CORRECTLY!! I’M SO TIRED OF HEARING “versachee”
This was more like: tik tok people are showing off the designer stuff they bought....
Yeah honey was giving the girls looks!! Dezaiin’s was one of my favorites too! She nailed the energy of every designer (imo for Chanel, she could’ve done a skirt but I get she was going for modest with her looks! Still a winner!)
“Oh the Celine, we’ll talk about that” 😆
This was so fun! I love everyone who was able to pull looks without having actual pieces. Makes it seem really achievable for the everyman 😌
Would be cool to see you discuss avant garde e.g. Yohji Yamamoto/Rick Owens
can we talk ab how everyone was using the same designers? - i keep looking thru them trying to find a vautier or a iris van herpen idk maybe that's just me
Iris van herpen would be really difficult I think, maybe I'm just not creative enough
You can't make an iris van herpen look easily, I would stay away too
I do see your point though
Ah yes, lemme get my 3D printer and create an Iris Van Herpen look
omg i could have watched hours of this i got so bummed when i realized we were on the last one ! it's so nice getting a video about people who obviously enjoy fashion and how people view certain brands. I would say actually most of the celine looks were spot on, in that they were so incredibly plain and boring yet somehow expensive looking which i think is what celine's whole aesthetic is. They honestly give me high end uniqlo vibes
I feel like most of the people I’ve seen that are doing this TikTok trend are people who are interested in fashion but they don’t “know” fashion..... kinda like influencers wearing the most basic things but just because they are branded “normal people” (non fashion lovers) hype them up!
The Valentino look on the 2nd girl was VERY McQueen.
Poor Celine :(
OMG, the supreme look on the streetwear version is Bratz Sasha first edition!!!!
12:45 I think I laughed for a solid five minutes following that 😂😂 your reaction is priceless
my midwestern lesbian perspective of carhartt is confused that his look isn’t screaming about to go to home depot for fun
I love how your pronunciation of Versace changed
It sounds so good rn, doesn't sound too strange to my italian ears but has such a nice twist with your accent :>
This video has taught me a lot about fashion. I would love more please.
I need more of these! They are so fun.
When a dog knows more about fashion and dresses better than me🙄😔🙃
In the Tiktok tradition you should make part 2, 3 and 4!
Can you give us a Dolce and Gabbana look but it's just an empty chair 'cause you wouldn't be caught dead
Okay but Luke would be SO good at this!
YES! More videos like this please. Love it!
I HAVE AWAITED THIS VIDEO MY WHOLE LIFE
i got my life from the dog 😩 Yes Honey 😂❤️ loved this video!
Sir, your outfit is actually immaculate! I gasped when I saw the boots as well. Amazing
Eve Lily's Valentino look is honestly very spot on. The silhouette is very Pre-Fall '20, especially the Piccioli wrap dress, but done with a leather corset top (very RED Valentino) and in the signature Valentino Red color.
as a huuuge Mary quant fan and collector I'd love to have a history of video about the woman and the brand!!
I’m now incapable of watching one of these tiktoks without thinking about what you’d say about it
I'm glad I'm still awake right now. Sitting on the front row of your video premiere
This was such a fun watch!! I love this trend and is honestly a great way to find styling inspo personally. (:
The scrunching up of the coat sleeves was a nice Prada styling trick. Well done :-)
i expected him to actually give a review like he likes it or not and if it hits him like with award shows but damnnn is this educational and he actually talks about which era of the brand are they channelling!! i fucking stan!
i love ur outfit in this video ahhh! and yes i really enjoyed this trend so glad u covered it
Wooow thank you for the 4/4 🤩
If all these people were invited to the Jaquemus runway it would literally just be an audience wearing all the same thing - white shirt - neckbag and sandles...
Please more of this challenge reaction. The Aliyah jay ones are me with fashion. I could care less about anything other than a bag or accessory 😹 I don't like ready to wear. I'd rather save that money for a bag to put with my simple casual clothing.
More, please. I really like seeing how people wear designer clothing/interpret designer moments.
Love your videos!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm such a fan, you combine education and humour in such a genuine way ! Thankkskss
Getting the vibe that some people are using this trend just to flex designer instead of showing off the creativity 😅
Using your style knowledge and what you have in your wardrobe: 1/4
This dog: 4/4
I'm sensing a bias here... 🤔😂
We need more animals doing this challenge
Please do more! I liked hearing your thoughts about where the pieces came from and what inspired them.
Lmao I love how you seriously critiqued the dog outfits 😂
Pls react to chinese street fashion in tiktok!
Watching you judge the dog as seriously as you would a person is SO funny to me. Great video as always ❤️.
Omg the little dog is adorable! Totally amazing for GUCCI ads!🐶❤🧡🤎💜
Everytime i saw one of them on my fyp i started thinking what would luke think about this😂
Luke, thanks so much for repainting around the fireplace shelf! It always distracted me from your on-point fashion commentary
Surprised that there’s no wisdom kaye
Right???
Yesss love himm

More of these videos please! I can watch them all day.
That dog is definitely the most fashionable one!
Im excited for the prada history videooo!! This was a good one lukeee
