I don't drink anymore, but I have no problem with those who do.
My friends, church family, and wife do, but I don't.
Why? Because I can't control myself. One time, I drank, and I just wanted more and more( I'm honestly surprised I didn't die), and let's just say I got myself in lots of trouble.
Thankfully, God got me out of it. And ever since then, I never drank again ( 2 yesrs sober), and I've never gone back, and I love it.
    Thank you, Jesus

Sober can simply mean, "not drunk". People often use it to mean they never drink alcohol, but that's not the only definition. The verse isn't saying to never, never, not once ever, drink alcohol. It's simply telling you to abstain from drunkness.

I also watched your face reveal video recently and how difficult it has been to maintain the channel and content. I am praying for you and your team to have the provision you need to continue to produce content like this, even if it's not as often. The value in your videos and the messages you produce are priceless. My wife and I have three teenage children that I have been exposing to your videos and they are absolutely perfect for them! I can't express how much of a perfect fit your content has been for all of us. My wife and I have been Christian for a long time and our children are Christian as well, but we all need the Gospel presented in ways that stirs our spirits and speaks to us through the Holy Spirit, such as your content. I will be donating regularly to your ministry here online, and even though it's not much, I pray that it provides a larger impact into the needs and provisions required to help you in your ministry. “I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father's kingdom.” Jesus Himself said this to clarify. Fruit of the vine would imply the grape fruit. They were drinking, in simple terms, grape juice.
      In the Old testament-
"I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the corn, and upon the new wine..."(Haggai 1:11)
Mountains cannot produce alcoholic wine. They can only produce fresh grapes or their juice. This is the sweet wine or the new wine that Jesus talks about. New wine is processed and preservatives added. But if not carefully preserved and left in a hot climate, this will get fermented and become alcoholic. This is the old wine that can make new wineskins burst if kept in them . There are several examples of people of God being instructed not to have wine, not little, not more, but not to have wine. If you still have further doubt, God will certainly speak to you and show you what's right. Depend on Him alone 😊

Also as an alcoholic myself, I used to do what he is talking about in the end , which is forcing my own true beliefs and convictions over alcohol down other people’s throats. I used to believe that it was a sin to drink period and I used to try to tell people that were of legal age (I’m not . I am 19 and became an alcoholic at 16 after I’d been through so much trauma ; my Mawmaw had passed away and I drank in order to cope with it.) that they couldn’t drink and that they were hurting their bodies and weren’t a real Christian if they did this . Now I know from this video that it’s not true that drinking is a sin . I used to get so triggered if people who were of legal age drank around me but now I do not mind as long as they are not forcing it on me. Just because God wants me to not drink alcohol doesn’t mean that is the case for other people. We are all different and they may be able to control their alcohol consumption. I cannot and that’s why I don’t drink .

I think a sin can be anything you put above God. If I drink it is not a sin because it is just 1 here or there, but to an alcoholic it is always a sin, because that takes over and the person puts it above God. I used to smoke a pack a day, it took over my whole day, i would schedule things around finding a time to stop and smoke, yet some people would have 1 or 2 socially on the weekend, and it not really be an issue.
I think with this definition of sin, most any thing such as watching TV, social media, video games, watching sports, shopping, even something like eating, can be a sin if you take it to the point that you start putting it before God and it starts running your life

I'll have a beer after a hard day's work (if it's actual labor, no office labor...just not the same). It's usually with other laborers and tradesman, but actively avoid becoming drunk. So yes couple of beers, and ofc wine every now and then I can keep my faculties. Drinking to get drunk, rather than savoring and enjoying it, is where it becomes a problem.

I never had a problem with alcohol.
I quit drinking it years ago however, I do know that some can have medicinal uses.
A common drink for a sore throat, cold, etc. is a strong proof alcohol, honey, and some type of tea. I have a small stash but like many don't feel the need or want to drink it.

I don't mind other people drinking around me, it doesn't affect my conviction personally since I've never been exposed to an intense addiction, but I'm glad I watched this video because it helped me understand that I'm doing the right thing.

My mom and I have separate convictions with alcohol and tattoos. She is able to enjoy a drink or two a week with no convictions, whereas I am racked with guilt if I have one. However, I feel no convictions whatsoever when I get tattooed (I have over 30 and a couple of which even glorify God directly), whereas after she got one (containing lyrics from a hymn), she felt that getting any more wasn't right. Thank you so much for making this point--it's something that I always innately understood, but had difficulty describing to others.

So now I honestly only drink roughly 4 times a year. I don't need alcohol to be happy, plus unfortunately I have people I know that abuse it. I pray for them.

Like morning coffee except it sucks some energy out of you. Ultimately, it can just start feeling boring and useless.

Amen! I'm 19 (legal drinking age in Saskatchewan, Canada), and I know my drinking limits. I can detect my body's signals when I'm starting to get buzzed, so I take breaks to rest, eat, and/or drink soft drinks to sober up before drinking more alcohol. I've heard horrible stories and saw sad videos of people drunk driving. I only have alcohol as a tasty drink and social drink, not to try to benefit from the alcohol itself. I was eating pizza pops and having a fireball and raspberry bubly cocktail when I was going through my subscribed channels list and tapped on this video. Thanks!

I have to say, I definitely agree with what opinions you gave on the topic in Point #6. I feel there is a lot to go over with this topic such as concerns of legality, conviction vs condemnation, and other things. I’ve seen a lot of Christians to grapple with their convictions and others calling said convictions “legalistic” or “nonsensical”. I’ve seen so many people battle with this topic in their walk.

I dont have a problem with drinking. I have rules I follow 90% of the time.
1: I don't buy alcohol myself. People who drink usually buy enough for everyone to have some, so I share with them. If I do buy something, it's very, very rarely 2-3 times a month if that.
2: I don't keep alcohol in my fridge. I don't buy boxes of alcohol so there is no reason for me to keep any.
3: When I drink, I make sure that I keep it to a minimum with the majority of my drinks to have less than 7% of alcohol in it. I don't like the hard stuff. I like fruit flavored drinks
4: I make sure not to drink every time I do go out with friends. I can easily say no. Also helps for me to keep myself out of trouble and look out for others
5: I don't get drunk. I never have been drunk or blacked out, and I pray the Lord keeps me that way. I know he can when I do my part by feeding his spirit and not my own. If i ever stumble, I will make sure to give up drinking

Speaking of thought no. 4, I remember a drunk driving incident in my own country from 3 years ago where the driver lost control of his BMW mini coupe due to excess alcohol and he drove at a speed of more than 100 km/h on a road of shophouses. The car crashed into a shophouse door and went up in flames. All four people in the vehicle including the driver were killed. The driver’s girlfriend even rushed to the scene to rescue him and got burned herself; She got seriously injured from the flames but did not die 😢. This is why you must never drive when you are drunk

I have the same conviction as you do. I had a bit of a close call recently when I almost ate a chocolate that had alcohol inside it. I had to double check the front of the package to see that these were hollow chocolates filled with wine, so I immediately put it back (fortunately, I hadn't unwrapped it yet). My relatives tried to tell me to go ahead and eat it, as I'm currently 30, but I stuck to my convictions, as I wanted to keep my lips away from any type of alcohol. They didn't push the issue. Don't worry, though; I didn't miss out on having some chocolate, as my aunt happened to have a full stash of chocolates from this past Easter.😊
Actually, my conviction isn't the only thing keeping me from alcohol; I accidentally had a little taste when I was 9 years old (I mistook a glass of wine for a glass of grape juice), and I still haven't forgotten that bitter taste on my tongue.🤢

Thank you Impact Ministry!!!!! It's very clear by your teaching that a Christian can consume alcoholic beverages but not to the point of drunkenness and having it effect a weaker Christian. Some like to see it as a social thing to do. I can be social just drinking water, juice or coffee/tea (please understand, no judgment). I saw the ugly side of what drinking did to my family many years ago. Drinking can lead to addiction. God bless the Ministry for the teaching led by the Holy Spirit 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

I'm 34 and have never touched alcohol. I watched it destroy my dad as a child and throughout my 20s until it took him from us in 2015 to suicide. I feel in some ways this was an up close and personal lesson from God on what damage alcohol can do not just to the individual but to the family. My son is named after him, and I made a promise from an early age that if I ever had my own son, I'd set the right example for him so that he wouldn't endure the pain I did seeing my dad do that to himself. I've come back to God only a few months ago, and it has convinced me more than ever that I am doing right through Him by not starting or ever wanting to start. Great video, buddy🙏👏🤜🤛

Alcohol can do alot of damage. But its important yo remwmber, that anything can be just as dangerous when it gets a hold on someone. Addiction is what ultimately does the harm, and anything can become addictive in the wrong circumstances. I've known people to turn to amphetamines to stop their drinking habit only to wind up with an even worse problem because they just replaced one addiction with another.

Besides drinking, I feel like any activity in general should be taken into consideration, such as an addiction. Lets say your friend, who came to Christ, recently had gotten over or is in the process of overcoming lust. If you are out with your group of friends, it would be respectful to consider how your friend feels about any topics involved with lust. I'm glad this video was mentioned, along with going in depth when it comes to bible verses, because this same concept can be applied to any other sin we experience.

I at one time would drink to get drunk, then i started attending a church and we were told by a pastor there not to drink because it could cause a brother to stumble and not to go buy alcohol from the store because it could cause someone to say well if they can then so can I...
I'm now at a different church and have had a drink with a few of the congregants, but before I even order a drink I make sure that all members that are present are ok with it and that it's not going to cause them to stumble. If one claims it'll cause them to stumble I won't order a drink and advise the others not to either to help our brother. I tend to enjoy a drink at home more than I do when I'm out though.

I really appreciate this video. The points really boil down to loving God , your body and people around you (and their conscience) more than your freedoms. This is especially hard for us as Americans because freedom is the objective and theme of our entire lives and what we stand for. So I know for me it was hard to reconcile between what I want to do and what is best for me and my soul. I started drinking at a very early illegal age and it was only a little over a year ago since I’ve not only fully accepted and is actively walking with the objective for myself that I don’t drink anymore because of my reliance on alcohol and what it used to mean for me. But I am not against anyone who drinks alcohol. I am against drunkenness because of what the Bible says, but I have yet to find anyone who is a Christian or not a Christian who doesn’t respect someone who says I don’t drink alcohol because of their own personal convictions and journey with it; so I hope anybody that watches this doesn’t feel pressured to drink because of who they are around or who they’re trying to impress. I hope you love yourself, the Lord and the people that you’re around to stand up for what is good in God’s eyes.

Wine symbolized the Holy Spirit. For those who are filled with His Spirit, wine becomes unnecessary. I know because I used to be alcohol dependent.
