I love my Hungarian Underfolder. I know they’re not comfortable to shoot, but the underfolder allows you to sacrifice a lot of space if you transport the rifle, and they work well with a sling being a small package.
@@jacobardon5605 you want a good hungarian get an FEG one. if you want an underfolder i’d suggest ak63ds from atlantic firearms. real good quality for the price, and atlantic kits are always good to go nowadays.
Thank you. This is exactly what I was looking for. I have a model with an under fold and I am new to AKs. Was not 100% sure you could fire with it folded and wasn’t excited to try just in case you couldn’t. lol. Great video.
For anyone wondering, Interarms AK builds are pretty meh. Note the lack of grip reinforcement plate on this build. I imagine the barrel is also unlined button rifled. A shame so many decent kits like this were built so "meh" back when AK kits used to be cheap and plentiful (even worse before the barrel ban). Also AKM. In particular an AKMS. For an informative video, referring to all AK's as AK-47 is letting down people that find these little videos informative. But yeah, underfolder AK's are pretty neat. Not the most comfortable to shoot but super handy.
Much depends on which incarnation of Interarms this particular AK was built under, as Interarms has changed hands a few times. I can't speak for Interarms AKs built before Interarms was acquired by High Standard in Houston, or even the specifics of all of the early Houston Interarms guns, but I can attest to the High Standard Interarms guns of the last few years using exclusively chrome-lined barrels from Green Mountain. Green Mountain does button rifle their barrels, but that's pretty inconsequential. Button rifling is cheaper, and more than sufficient for all but the most high precision rifle applications, a category for which the AK has never been, nor ever will be, destined. Most production rifle barrels are button, and honestly, you'd be hard pressed to find a Savage or Remington that didn't shoot well within 2 MOA with appropriate ammo. If you go around demanding cut rifling in all your tubes, you're going to have to go around with 3 or 400 extra American rubles in your pocket for every gun you buy, assuming you can find that option without having a smith do a custom job for you. As for the underfolder plate, I would argue that its existence is meh. Its purpose is to distribute recoil impulse over a wider area than just the hole for the pistol grip nut, when the gun is fired in folded configuration. When the stock is unfolded and the gun is fired from the shoulder, the reinforcement plate serves no purpose, outside of looking more "authentic." For the civilian market, where the vast majority of shooters are either serious, in which case they use the stock like a civilized human, or are total chucklehads, in which case they fire from the hip a couple times and then sell the gun to pay their phone bill, the plate is pretty low on the cost-benefit curve in bringing the gun to market. Authenticity snobs be damned, they don't actually buy enough guns to be worth pandering to. All that said, with High Standard closed down, I wouldn't recommend buying anything from "Interarms TX," which is actual trademark infringement by a guy that used to work for High Standard until he was ousted for embezzling, and who the ATF has permanently barred from being a responsible party on an FFL.
I have an hungarian kit build and its on an interarms reciever...i love it i prefer underfolders it doesnt bother me a bit but i have shot alot of folding stock rifles....also when its really hot outside it can burn your face i experienced that just yesterday...wrap a little paracord around the side you rest your face on and you have no problems with hot or cold
You can do just about anything with this weapon as you could an M-16 or CAR-15. I prefer the folding stock over the wooden one. I would put a better barrel and other grips on this weapon but this is still an excellent weapon as it is now.
I wonder if they were ever chambered for .308? I would put a heavier barrel on it and chrome the chamber. Still a good rifle. I life the folding stock. There are M203 attachments available now.
Zastava makes a 308 AK platform rifle and they're pretty sweet. I almost bought one after testing it but picked up a 10/63 and bft-47 instead for about the same price.
I own An Airsoft AKM underfolder-something. It's a bit of a mix-match of Chinese design parts, a Polish stock and a AK-74m muzzle break. But i love it! Solid as hell, even as an airsoft gun. Feels like a real thing. The cold stock is a treu thing hahaha, although u won't notice it on the field "under fire" (it's Airsoft, not Kandahar!) with adreline rushing trough Ur veines. :)
I have one just like this one except it shoots in full auto and it has bulgarian markings , it does not have holes in the gas tube is it safe to fire it full auto ?? Need help
So at least in my state I can buy a rifle at 18, and i really wanted a short barrel tactical ak or something like that but you have to be 21 to buy it. So if i get an ak with a 16 inch barrel (which at least in my state is considered a rifles barrel length) and a underfold stock is that still considered a rifle with the under fold on it?? So i can buy it when im 18??
My first AK rifle I ever owned (still own) is the WASR 10/63 UF (under folder) Its a great rifle that started an AK / SKS addiction.
Where do you buy underfolders? Do u buy an air soft one?
@Bruce Lee where could I buy one ?
Plenty of options nowadays
Arguably the most iconic of the AK range. A true firearms masterpiece.
Very beautiful piece.
Truck gun is all I needed to hear man❤️🔥
Great wood finish
AKs just NEED wood in my opinion..
MY dream gun, unfortunately i live in sweden so i dont think im going to seee much of it :(
I'm sure for the right price
Probably been said, but Ralphie never lick'ed the pole
The sight is graduated in meters not yards js. But great vid
1 yard is .914 meters. You're not wrong, but sometimes Americans use them interchangeably for rough distances.
I love my Hungarian Underfolder. I know they’re not comfortable to shoot, but the underfolder allows you to sacrifice a lot of space if you transport the rifle, and they work well with a sling being a small package.
Are the Hungarian interarms/high standard ak47 good
With a good muzzle brake it's not uncomfortable at all

What makes them meh
Very first AK I had, bought it off of a dumb spec four at Ft. Bragg. Only gun I regret selling
This gun is the definition of classy

If its cold outside.. that is why you would shoot it with the stock folded 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Under fold My favorite looking ak

I'm in the UK this is as close as I will ever get ....
Can't decide which is the most uncomfortable. This, the AIMS wirefolder, or the Maadi wirefolder.
Nice UF!🇺🇸
Is that German Olive Grey from Duracoat? Beautiful AK.
Or is it Parker from Duracoat?
Wow you're tall, you make that rifle look tiny.
Swartz licked the flagpole....not Ralph 😉
Is this the same Interarms that was in Alexandria, VA that imported Rossi rifles ? Thank you.
I just bought a Romanian Under folder AKM from RTI. I need advice on the proper barrel to find. Any advice is more than welcome! Thank you!
Polish barrel from AoA. Best on the market
Nice video...just wondering the length of underside folder...
I bet this Fudd broke out in hives when he had to hold that thing.
would like to see a piece on the BM59
I like your video
I love mine!!!!
is this legal to keep in the truck if you have a permit? or no
Can you change the folding stock to anything else?
Want to see the bft47 pistol
Wrap the stock in paracord

In Texas you can
Chum?! From pawn shops?
Are these better than zastavas or arsenals?
On par if they are built correctly.
*I HAVE A DREAM!!! That one fucking day will americans stop mistake AK-47 for AKM*
Will this fit a psa ak 47 gf3?
Salu
Ive had two of the interarms. There junk. I got rid of mine in the 80's.
