I really wish Sola would put the ratios of water to dye to achieve the shade of color shown on the color dye guide on their website, I picked the dyes based on those pictures...this lack of measurements and general instructions in the box is quite frustrating. Sola, come on, help us out

It would be more useful telling us to add the softener in now so that the flowers aren't so hard as without it. Reading that after all my flowers were dyed and dried would have been less frustrating.

Hi, can you explain what you mean by this? I'm about to do these and I did order softener. Are you saying you wish you had added it to the water?

Hi, is making wood flowers using sola flowers more expensive than buying real flowers? Please help. I would love to do this for a wedding.

From all the research I have done for my own wedding, this is the best option. Not only is it cheaper but it's more sustainable and your bouquet will last forever! I'm excited to do this for my own bouquet and my wedding party.

Does is matter what kind of water is used while dyeing these? Do tap, distilled, purified, spring, or well water all work the same?

This looks very pink to be the Merlot. I purchased the Merlot dye based on the images on the website and now I think I'll have to order at least twice as much dye to get even close to that color. Is that accurate?

Just got my beginners box, there is a bottle of softner but you're not mentioning using it. What'd it for?

It’s to keep the flowers from cracking. Keeps it “squishy”

It's to make the wood flowers softer for a more realistic texture and keeps your flowers from cracking. You can use it before you dye as a primer. Or after. She does mention it in this video.

Do the flowers need to be raw before painting them?

Can you go to a local hobby store to buy the dye?

Does the dye stain the fingers?

No. Think of the dyes more like paint that you water down.
