Super Metroid is still, and forever will be the GOAT. Prime is right up there though. Dread was amazing don't get me wrong, but Super Metroid might be the best game I've ever played from a level design perspective, again can pretty much say the same about Prime.

It's hard to choose; I've never played Dread. But it has to be between Super and The first Prime
You should really give Dread a go. It feels so smooth and engaging. It feels like such an evolution of super metroid.
U all know the truth. Prime is the Tom Brady of the Metroid series. Prime is GOAT.
If Prime is the Tom Brady then Super Metroid is the Montana. Different eras. Both the goat in each of them.

Super metroid is immortal. Prime will probably have to be remastered every 2 decades with qol improvements.
Metroid 2 Is awesome. Its a lot of fun and filled with atmosphere

Metroid Prime 2 is my favourite Metroid and game of all time.
My Wii U is still hooked up exclusively for Xenoblade Chronicles X.
My favorite Metroid...? METROID PRIME PINBALL for the DS. It's such an incredible game. It would have been amazing to have a remaster of that hidden away on the Metroid Prime Remastered game.
Have a Nice Death is actually an amazing game and highly recommend it and looks absolutely beautiful on the OLED. Also Zero Mission is the greatest Metroid game of all time
Love the 3DS stories, gonna have to pick up those games.

Metroid prime duh. No game comes close to it. That to me is the definitive game experience

Objectively speaking it's dread
Dread plays better than any Metroid game but the beginning with the EMMIs is a little annoying. I'd like to be able to truly fight back against the EMMI so it doesn't feel so helpless.
Dread > Prime
Lol how? Dread's environments are mostly bland factory levels, the soundtrack is lacklustre and the enemy variety is miniscule. Prime defeats it in every possible way.

But one could say prime & 5 are tied with it.

Man… my Wii U gamepass screen is busted. Just the center of the screen works. The borders are black. Man… what a horrible console

Super > Prime > Zero > Prime 2 > (some order of Dread, Fusion, Prime 3) > Metroid 2 > Metroid.

Original Metroid is way better than Fusion. And Super Metroid is better than Dread.
Super is clearly better than dread and only Prime can reasonably rival it. I've replayed M1 a lot more than fusion but my gut feeling is that fusion is a better game?
@@spaceghostcqc2137 The only issue with the NES Metroid is that you start with only one energy filled every time you die, and at the end of the game, it can take something like 10 minutes to fill it up again. Apart from that, the atmosphere and exploration part is fantastic in that game. Fusion is ruined by Adam's constant chatting and being told what to do all the time. It's not a bad game, but definitely at the bottom of the Metroids.
