I do not have back pain normally when exercising but am experiencing lower back pain performing wall Pilates. Would you guess this is due to trying a new form of exercise or poor technique?? I feel I’m doing a pelvic tilt but perhaps I should aim for neutral spine? Distance from the wall? Any suggestions would be truly appreciated-
Hey. Most often, the back pain you’re experiencing is due to a weakness in the lower back muscles and glutes. What’s happening is you’re probably over compensating and straining your back trying to complete the exercises rather than being able to use your glutes more and the strength from your lower back (which is currently lacking). Also, you must make sure your core is engaged throughout. Don’t over arch your spine, aim to keep it long and straight.
This was great...and tough for someone with a weak lower body...I was exhausted after rhis..lololololol..that's a good thing!!!. My point you don't need an hour to work out!!!

Am I doing something wrong when I felt most of the workouts laying down in my lower back…so much tension?? I can do floor hip bridges without hurting and I’m very experienced in these floor exercises but I’m fairly new to wall Pilates. The other 2 days haven’t hurt my back.
Hey 😊. Lower back pain is common and is usually due to a weakness in your glutes and hip area along with core. Since you’re weaker in this area you are overcompensating with your lower back.
Yeah, you’re just not contracting the right muscles or you’re not strong enough yet. You need to use your glutes, core and push through your pelvis. Don’t throw your back into it. Over time you will build strength

Hey! Are you raising it off the floor? You really should be in a relaxed position lying down with your shoulders flat on the floor, lower back pressed into the floor while lying down and using your glutes, core and leg muscles to help drive the movements upwards 🩷
Hey. The lower back pain comes from a weakness in your glutes, lower back and core. Your back muscles are over compensating. When you’re performing the exercises work hard on squeezing your glutes and engage your core as much as possible. Push through your pelvis. Your back will strengthen over time providing you do this and minimise the strain to your lower back
My upper body and arms are really skinny but my legs are chunky so this workout was super beneficial for me. Thank you!!
