I love that whoever is recording this could have glued the camera to Bo the whole time but they didn’t. We just get to see this small glimpse of a surreal moment, and the rest of the time we’re sucked into Phoebe’s performance.
They were also probably conscious of not wanting to freak Bo out with a camera trained on him. When Bo moves his head, the person quickly yoinks the camera away back to Phoebe.
I guess in this context it's kind of nice to get a sneaking glimpse on camera showing him also being there, and I totally get why someone would want to gauge his reaction to this, but in general I wish people wouldn't film people like this when they're just there as an audience member
Just imagine how that must have felt from Bo Burham perspective. Someone else appreciating your song so much they sing it at their own show and it being so good most of the crowd knowing it. That must be the most unique of feelings.
Thank you for not staying on Bo and potentially ruining his experience of this moment. Just a brief "and hey, look who's here - smiling :) " and then back to Phoebe. Very well done

Bo Burnham has been very fixated on how selfish he perceives his own need for attention to be. It's nice to see him in a setting where so many people are deeply resonating with work he made not because of a cult of personality, but because the work itself needed to be made. Inside really feels like a magnum opus work and it's not coming from selfishness, it's coming from a deep connection with others.
And the irony of this is that it's coming from a deep connection with others, but was created when no such connections were really possible to me made in the same way as we are all ued to (in person).

Actually my best friend was there sitting behind him, he moved seats so she could see better. It took her a little bit she realized who he was and she was starstruck. She didn’t wanna bug him and ask for a picture but she did thank him.
My favorite instance like that was this street performer was playing a Matisyahu song right in front of him and Matisyahu was singing along and the guy didn't believe it was actually him. Then, Matisyahu invited the guy to perform for him on stage. Good stuff.
I love how in the special Bo says "I'm not very good at singing or guitar" as he takes a shot at an indie singer/songwriter song, but it's so well written that the best indie singer/songwriter in the biz takes it and says "I got you" ❤️😜
It is also done in a single take in the special, so if you look closely as Bo gets to the outro, I think you can catch a little smile on his face when he realises he's done a good take and gotten all the way through the song, and then he just really enjoys playing the outro (i.e. "hey, what can you say, we were overdue..." repeated).

I would be relieved to not know until after. I would have probably fan girled, stared for extended periods of time, made it awkward, have an hour or more long inner monologue over whether/when/how I should introduce myself (only to later regret whichever I chose), and make him uncomfortable when he's just having a night out lol. Everyone singing this together gave me chills it's sad that we could all relate to this but at the same time we all are in this together. Man inside will always have a special place in my heart 😭 it made me feel less alone.
Being that he was living in his home with his many-years live-in girlfriend and their dogs and went and recorded the scenes for the special in their guesthouse I’d not really call it writing in isolation, though. Great art, and the Netflix special is an epic piece of performance about the year, but it’s not as though he was on his own.
@@Mx.RumpusParable so your argument is that he wasn’t in isolation just because he lived with another person and their dogs? i lived with 2 other people and a dog at the height of the pandemic, but i didn’t leave my house for 2 months. sure felt very isolating to me

He looks uncomfortably tickled by somebody he admires playing his song to a crowd of people singing along. That must feel great and horrifying at the same time.
I will never be able to accurately describe how this song makes me feel. It's provokes such a great feeling of somberness and surrealness. This special will always be held close to my heart, and I hope Bo realizes how meaningful and touching it is to us all.
It literally brought tears to my eyes when I saw the look on Bo's face, to see him smiling after everything he has been through in the last couple of years.
Bo was exactly what we needed when he released Inside. His reaction to his work from a fly on the wall perspective is amazing. He got to see it from a new set of eyes and you can see the astonishment. I think generally people don’t sing along at his specials. Especially his new one. So this was probably wild for him lol
I adore Phoebe and Bo with every fiber of my being. Both of them have brought me immeasurable joy in my life. I want to make art as beautiful and meaningful as theirs
This is a really sad, honest and beautiful song. Bo is such an incredible talent and I was really happy to see him enjoying this perspective of his work.
Not only was this version profoundly touching, but i think It means so much more. I find It fascinating (and a little bit ironic in restrospect) that Inside has become such a phenomenon through social media, and specially TikTok. For us long time Bo Burnham fans, It felt like the farewell that we never got to have back in the day, and for new fans It meant so much, encapsulating the experience of the lockdown, anxiety and depression perfectly. This song in particular is so specific yet so accurate, an excelent take on modernity. I recomend CJ the X video essay on this topic and Inside as a whole. As someone who had anxiety and a deep existential crisis years ago, Bo helped me a lot, and im so happy to see people knowing the lyrics, and knowing myself that, even though he might never perform again, his legacy lives on. Im crying while listening the full version. Thanks Phoebe, thanks Bo.
I love that you're recording halfway through the song, not to prove you were there by filming the entire thing, but truly just a snapshot of it, and a quick look over at him. In the moment still.
Who ever filmed this give them an award for cinematography or something the quick look at bo smiling as others smile and laugh then the pan away as he looks away not just keeping the camera transfixed on him just a quick oh look its that guy huh cool then they continue on like bo was just another person in the crowd partaking in the event this is quite possibly the best videography Ive ever seen
This reminds me of that beautiful scene in Dr Who where Van Goh gets to see his own exhibit and how much his art touched people's souls. We love you Bo.
I recently re-watched the special and i was feeling really down. The special made me feel better and I've been watching this clip on repeat and looking at Bo's smiling face is the best thing ever ❤️ I've been struggling with anxiety for over 2 years now and this video is what has been my anchor in the last 2 days 💗 THANK YOU
Just watching him light up when he hears others laughing or singing to it. It’s just so humbling to see no one fixated on him too though. I like how it’s just like he’s a normal person in the crowd. And everyone is focused on Phoebe too, bc it’s her show I guess but it’s crazy to think about this all from his perspective. He wrote and filmed a whole special in his home with no help, it was emotional and creative and some how captured all the aspects of depression or anxiety through the pandemic. And you can tell how stressed he is through filming and hearing someone else sing his music and others finding it funny and entertaining is incredible. He doesn’t have a spot light on him and he can just sit and enjoy the amazing things he’s created.
He's just appreciating his art being appreciated without the anxiety of performing it himself... I love Inside and in a world where it's easy to consume media and move on I'll certainly not be forgetting it.
He looks relaxed and happy. Awesome to see the camera guy just give a quick glimpse of the man behind the song, then take the eyes off of him to give us the view Bo is taking in while sitting discreetly in the crowd, watching so many people enjoying and singing along with his lyrics. In other words... "There it is again, that funny feeling..." ❤️ I wish him all of the best feelings in life from here until the end, whether that be in seven years or many years beyond. Love you Bo.
It breaks my heart in the best way to know that he got to experience his music from the outside. Completely respected, revered and sung along to by all of the people that it has touched in the last year.
I just know this moment was extremely validating for him. I really hope he knows how much Inside meant to all of us, he took what everyone was feeling and made something very beautiful of it, despite how shitty those feelings may be. Love this video so much and love Bo so much.
The way he looks around at other people laughing with a smile on his face. All he wants is to make other people happy and it kills me that he struggles with making himself happy.
This fills my heart with such love. What a priceless gift, to see and hear an entire room (and Phoebe!) sing the words to the music YOU created as a result of struggling with mental health. THANK YOU for posting!

ME AND MY FRIENDS WERE TO THE LEFT OF HIM RIGHT OVER IN THE NEXT SECTION AND WE MISSED HIM. WE, AS BO FANS, MISSED HIM BEING RIGHT NEXT TO US AND ONLY FIGURED OUT WHEN HE CAME OUT IN ONE OF OUR VIDEOS.
God that’s sad I would cry to be honest
i would be crying and throwing up into oncoming traffic omg
I would be relieved to not know until after. I would have probably fan girled, stared for extended periods of time, made it awkward, have an hour or more long inner monologue over whether/when/how I should introduce myself (only to later regret whichever I chose), and make him uncomfortable when he's just having a night out lol. The anxiety would kill me in my seat and I would miss the whole show by being in my head hahaha.
Everyone singing this together gave me chills it's sad that we could all relate to this but at the same time we all are in this together. Man inside will always have a special place in my heart 😭 it made me feel less alone.
Nahhh this is straight out of some disney movie. it’s insane watching someone fall in love in real time
Yeah I just found out today that they're dating!
This must’ve been amazing!
I bet it was mr. Comedy
hey man! love your channel!
It must be interesting getting the full satisfaction of hearing a crowd sing your song to you without the anxiety of being the one performing it.
i bet that felt good to hear so many people singing along to a song he wrote in isolation
@@Mx.RumpusParable so your argument is that he wasn’t in isolation just because he lived with another person and their dogs? i lived with 2 other people and a dog at the height of the pandemic, but i didn’t leave my house for 2 months. sure felt very isolating to me
It’s so nice to see Bo finally seeing what an impact Inside had on all of us. He deserves nothing but the best.
That Funny Feeling watching Bo smile at people singing his song!
he was probably experiencing that funny feeling in that moment in every possible way
i love how you can see this blend of being so touched hes almost crying, being anxious about the crowd, and laughing with the crowd. I'll always love how real Bo is as a person and artist
i'm CRYING. thank you for capturing this perfect moment.
Same!!!!
He looks uncomfortably tickled by somebody he admires playing his song to a crowd of people singing along. That must feel great and horrifying at the same time.
He also looks almost desperate to see how it lands, in a true creator way.
I’m so happy he can get to see the impact he really has ❤️
Bo hearing the words come out of everyone’s mouths without him being on stage probably hits hard for him. Bo’s not alone!
So this was probably wild for him lol
this is the most precious video on the internet I come back here once in a while just to cry
I adore Phoebe and Bo with every fiber of my being. Both of them have brought me immeasurable joy in my life. I want to make art as beautiful and meaningful as theirs
that was oddly respectful how it didn't linger on and focus on Bo. =
now everytime i see phoebe and bo content all i can think of is the recent rumors HDNDNDJD BYE
love this cover of phoebe so much though she’s amazing
This song on its own makes me cry, but seeing Bo seeing the effects of his work has just got me over here 😭😭😭😭
My God, it makes me cry, I'm so happy to see this, thank you, kind person for posting this!
Hearing a crowd sing your song at someone else's show is such a surreal feeling.
Funny coming back to this now that they’re dating
not me being distracted by how cool the tv Technical Difficulties pattern looks in that guys glasses, especially at 1:04
It makes me happy to see him smile seeing how ppl bond over his song its such a beautiful conclusion to the special
This is one of the most respectful fan filming an idol video I've seen.
This is a really sad, honest and beautiful song. Bo is such an incredible talent and I was really happy to see him enjoying this perspective of his work.
i don't think i've ever seen Bo looking that happy and it's unbelievably heartwarming
Thanks for giving us a glimpse but not making the camera linger on him. He deserves to enjoy this moment 🙂 (edited for spelling)
This makes me so so so happy. This man ❤️
It's just really heart warming seeing him smile hearing his masterpiece (in a rendition)
Bo really sat on the couch and watched us next time
underrated comment
This must be one of the most wholesome video i've seen in a long while
This whole moment could be in the song as yet another funny feeling for him I bet, absolutely beautiful
The lighting/look of the shot from the thumbnail is even reminiscent of Inside. This whole thing feels like a cathartic follow up to the special.
My heart can't do this
This reminds me of that beautiful scene in Dr Who where Van Goh gets to see his own exhibit and how much his art touched people's souls.
We love you Bo.
that was the best scene in the whole show by far
You can tell, that in that moment it felt like he was there alone. Just him and Phoebe.
That's the opposite of the message
He doesn’t have a spot light on him and he can just sit and enjoy the amazing things he’s created.
its kind of amazing seeing this moment happen concerning the context of the song.
He's just appreciating his art being appreciated without the anxiety of performing it himself... I love Inside and in a world where it's easy to consume media and move on I'll certainly not be forgetting it.
I'm glad that Bo can experience the love of people without worrying about it.
Watching him see how loved the song is (and his work in general) is so beautiful. Even just the echo of the crowd singing along 🥺
This 1 minute clip was the feel good movie of the year.
Omggg thank you so much🥺 i'm glad to see Bo being proud of his work and thank you for respecting his privacy👏🏼
Thank you to whoever took this video. This is literal treasure.
I love how respectful they are. Just a nod that he is there, and that's it. they didn't take that moment away from him and I really respect that.
Thanks to the person who captured this moment. 💯
I just can't imagine what that felt like for Bo. Complete validation and catharsis for/from your own art.
Love this video so much and love Bo so much.
i like that man's glasses
The harmony from the audience right after the smile on Bo's face hearing them all sing along to this song just is so beautiful.
"Don't we just want to unwind at the end of the day, sit down and watch your life as a satisfied audience member"
The way he looks around at other people laughing with a smile on his face. All he wants is to make other people happy and it kills me that he struggles with making himself happy.
This is genuinely like the Dr Who scene where Van Gogh realises how loved his work is.
Bo Burnham is a role model for all with depression and anxiety that it's still possible to connect with others even through pain
I appreciate people not pestering and annoying him during this
Two artists that make me believe that things are going to be okay.
This fills my heart with such love. What a priceless gift, to see and hear an entire room (and Phoebe!) sing the words to the music YOU created as a result of struggling with mental health. THANK YOU for posting!
I love how everyone’s softly singing. This must’ve been an out of body experience for him.
