This is a perfect metaphor for Gundam, on the surface it seems like a fun anime about fighting robots, but its so much more sophisticated than anything of its time, and theres never been anything that could live up to what Gundam represents and stands for.
This is why I love my country so much. You say "horrors" of war. In America we use terms like glory, honor, excitement, purity, and joy when describing war. We live for battle, to destroy the enemies of mankind. This is ever the difference between those who fight for themselves, and those who fight for others, even when it means fighting themselves sometimes.

"war is hell, as if i could ever forget that"
I gave this comment a thumbs down.
War...War never changes
Wow, its just depressed and rocks at the same time.
Such is Gundam, especially when Tomino directs.
Gundam in a nutshell
Great lyrics. Really says a lot about the horrors of war. I grew up watching the original Gundam and i will always cherish it.
Thunderbolt Gundam war is the way of the humanity I’ll say after seeing and being part of it 1st hand this song speaks truth

Let’s sing about the horrors of war to an upbeat musical score
Reminds me of “Hey ya”
Ain't that Gundam in a nutshell?
Ah yes. "WAR IS HELL AND EVERYONE YOU LOVE COULD DIE AT ANY MOMENT." The anime.
And 12 year old me will never forget hearing the original version of this in Journey to Jaburo on PS2 while fighting Char. Such an amazing game.
Dude it was AWFUL...but I still love it.
First time I heard it was in the jaburo arena on federation vs zeon would always play that map to listen to the song
The song of The One Year War
This song makes me depressed by humanity’s failure to find true peace.
You could always vote to legalize the killing of socialists, that helped the world move towards peace a TON last time.
@@dragoneye6229 Dunno. Last time that happened over 30 million people died in one of the largest if not the largest land conflict in history.

60m? Not to sound weird but that’s greater than the number of dead during WWI alone. Any source to back that number?

Gundam Rock was a japan exclusive.
Jaburo. Federation vs. Zeon DX. RX-79(g), 180mm cannon. Never got hit once, never wasted a shot.
Took the guncannon for that mission
The ground gundam was for the next one inside jaburo
They never stood a chance against either of us.
Neil Blackburn you guys are hilarious! Took the RX-78 classic style and went full feddy mode.
that cannon is fucking cancer when on a zeon playthrough and its spammed.
I prefer just using beam weapons or machine guns.
RX-78-2, UC Climax, defend Big Tray, defeat Zeon, destroy GAW.
Probably wasted a lot of shots but damn if UC CLimax isn't a fantastic game
This song hits different
Tomorrow is my birthday. I will have 17 year old and I'll listen this song to enjoy it.
Just another year and you can enlist!
Thank you, Gundam, for curing the stupidity of humanity

The beginning of the song reminds me of Thunder Road by Bruce Springsteen
If Gundam had a national anthem, this song would definitely be it.

If an Acguy can knock of a ground gundam's head, I don't think the GM is gonna make it against a zgok
