I love the size of this ship. Everywhere you went there was seating! The space between tables in the MDR looked good, not all jammed together (like QM2). Even the club venues had nice seating and spaces in between. Great stroll.
What was that yellow lama-look-a-like-animal doing on the side deck, looking through the window?? What a nice tour, smooth and informative :) Cheers, Warren
Hi Jamie, Great job as per. Interesting to look at the ship and the comments you have received already. Weve been on Cunard, Princess, and P and O cruise lines, and they all have their pluses and minuses. And they are so numerous to mention. We are in "smellie old Southampton" today 😮 I'm sure your audience will see the funny side of the above, especially if they remember an earlier blog of yours. Mrs H and l are on the Arvia tomo, 2 week med cruise. Cant wait as its the first cruise for us since Covid. I will let you know what l think of the ship after our 2 weeker. As youve always said, everyone is different, so their views are different. Enjoy the rest of your vacation. All the best, Alice and Paul 😊
Looks an absolutely beautiful ship Jamie. I can just imagine being one the Promenade deck at the back just standing watching out to sea and of course spending abit of time in the shops.
I enjoyed this Jamie. We cruised on Splendour OTS years ago and had a great time. Right size after not liking the Independence OTS as too busy. Enjoy your holiday. Looks amazing.
Thanks for posting yet another great vid. Me and the Mrs are planning on another cruise with Marella early 25 and we are undecided on Discovery or Voyager as they have similar itineraries at that time. We both loved your vids on Explorer 2 and helped us get the best out of our trip.keep up the great work.
Another great ship tour Jamie. The ship looks beautifully kept , you would never know she was the age she is. Your vlogs are making me so much more interested in Marella.
what were your thoughts? I am looking at booking for December to visit Barbados and the ABC. Is it as outdated as people make out, its a pretty old ship so just curious?
@@midj22 honestly you can tell it’s an old ship but it’s been renovated ALOT! Everything was very clean, brand new, nothing broken! There maintenance was amazing honestly! I’d recommend it!!! One of the best I’ve done.
@@ScottPC great stuff, thanks for getting back. I've never been on one but everybody raves on about the virgin, royal Caribbean or NCL but Manella had the most suit Itinerary for me with flights form UK, port from Bridgetown to, Lucia, Curacao, Aruba, Bonaire, Grenada, Barbados then back to UK
Love this ship. Was on in December 2017 from Jamaica and around Central America and Havana. Great cruise. Do they still have wine on tap in the buffet? Asking for a friend 🤣
It really looks lovely and I think I’d prefer the smaller passenger numbers - some of the newer, positively gigantic ships just don’t appeal to me at all.
This ship looks amazing 🤩 it’s such a shame I will never get to be on this unless this company comes to 🇬🇧 I really think they are missing out on a whole market of passengers 😢
Great video. 6 more weeks until we go.. Can you tell me if you can book to see any of the shows and book afternoon tea prio to travel. The app only highlights speciality dining and excursions. Many thanks
I really don’t think you need to book any shows - you can just turn up! I don’t remember being able to book afternoon tea in advance but it wasn’t much on my radar as I wouldn’t have been able to have it as a diabetic. I’ve never had a problem booking anything onboard, having said that, but I always do so on day 1 if I can
Been on Discovery 2 in 2018. This ship must be older but it looks newer, maybe it's had a refit? BTW Jamie you forgot to to clean your lens, looks a tad smeary 😎
Yours is the third video presentation of this ship and I've concluded that UK authors are not at all interested in the food service or onboard activities. There was one passing glance past a buffet, but no idea what they were serving. Great shots of empty facilities. I suppose they have different classes of staterooms?
Oh dear. This is a ship tour. Not a vlog of what food is served. It’s clearly labelled as a ship tour. A walking tour. I’d suggest you read before jumping to conclusions. If you want a look at the food, you watch the food vlog where I film and review every restaurant and every meal on board. And cabins? I have cabin tours (they aren’t called staterooms on this cruise line). What a shame you can’t look at someone’s playlist. I guess you’re too lazy and too interested in being a total grump and 🥩 🥪 . I’ll help you on the way out - you aren’t welcome in my channel.
I think Marella is more casual, food is generally on a par (some P&O better), inside / outside cabins generally bigger on Marella, crew are super friendly, ships obviously older / mid-sized, itineraries are great but of course these are fly-cruises
I love the size of this ship. Everywhere you went there was seating! The space between tables in the MDR looked good, not all jammed together (like QM2). Even the club venues had nice seating and spaces in between. Great stroll.
Yes, it’s true, lots of seating and I never had an issue finding my spot in any bar / lounge etc and you’re correct, ample space between tables in mdr
The glass house looks lovely, so does the indoor pool, but then it all looks lovely 😊
It’s lovely 😂
Fantastic video. Great to see that they have a good promenade deck, as most of the vloggers don't film it.
Oh you must film a prom deck!!
Let's get those steps up! Enjoy a leisurely stroll with me, deck by deck, with all the info you need about Marella Discovery!
Going on it next May...Great tour and guide to the ship. Thank you.
Have a great time
Me and the wife cruise discovery next Christmas can't wait. 🎉🎉

For some reason Marella Cruises places these around the ships - apparently a talking point for guests 😂

Great video, unfortunately it shows how many selfish thorns like to reserve the loungers, even though that's supposedly not allowed.
At least a great video 😆👍❤️

Watching, but you seem to be taking a lot of stairs, do the lifts/elevators not go to the top for people in wheelchairs?
