    💠Here's Mickey’s technique (52:52)
When it starts making noise and you notice that the benefit is 0 and the cost is 100%. Relax. What do you mean, relax? Relax. Relax your shoulders. Relax your tummy. Relax around your heart. Just keep relaxing, relaxing.
And if you feel that it keeps going while you're relaxing, you'll notice that it's not IN you. You're the one relaxing. It's happening outside of you. It's happening somewheres over there. You understand that? The anxiety, the noise, lean away from it. Just relax and lean away from where it's coming from.
That will change your entire life. Period. That is the act of will that it takes to free yourself. If you do not involve yourself in it, its energy will transmute to you. If you can remain calm, centered, clear, willful. “I don't want to give in to this. I don't need this. I'm just going to relax behind it.” It will keep pulling at you and eventually it will stop. You will win. You won. Right? And the energies will come up to you. It will stop doing what it used to do.💠

So this video came up to play for me after the personal mind video you posted 2 days ago and a lot of that was about surrendering.
How do we know when to exert will or surrender and allow life to happen?
And if good and bad is judgment and not needed if we want to embrace reality then why do anything at all?
So we are the consciousness that is experiencing everything, our mind makes judgment as to what is good or bad, but if want freedom of mind then letting go of good and bad must go…
How do we know what to use our will for and what to allow? The dao says we do nothing, we are just being done, but Micheal teaches for a reason, he built sanctuaries for a reason…
How do we decipher what is for the ego and do we feel god calls us to do? Is that even a statement worth asking? Or is it like what we we choose to do has a chain reaction and we keep rolling?

FYI, I'm not Michael Singer. I'm the content creator for this channel. In my opinion, when we still have samskaras inside (things we've stored inside because we couldn't handle them), we use our will to break the habits of the egoic mind. We use our will to get clear. Once we are clear inside (living from the Seat of Awareness), we no longer have to exert any will because we are living in the flow of Awareness. We still have free will and could choose to live in our personal ego minds if we wanted, but at that point you really don't want to. And there are no decisions to make at this point, nothing to decipher, because we are clear and the path forward is clear to us.

I love Michael Singer's teachings, but I feel I have to express a difference of opinion with this particular recording. If you are struggling with an addiction and can't seem to control it, please don't feel you have failed, are less capable than others, or that you are alone. Addiction often cannot be solved by thinking rationally about how "bad" your addiction is for you or by applying "willpower".
Mr Singer, however inadvertently, makes it sound like you should be able to just stop your addiction by yourself. Once you know enough analytically, you should be able to just quit. But if you can't do that, just know that many, many people have found themselves exactly where you are and have gotten help. In my own experience, it was not possible to stop drinking by using the thinking that Mr Singer seems to be advocating. Believe me, I spent years telling myself exactly what he's telling us here. It didn't work. I had to get help from others who had the same problem I had.
The paradox is that in the end, I was able to get to exactly the state of mind that he is describing, at least as far as drinking goes. But it has taken a long time to get to the point that he is describing and I couldn't have done it alone.
I only say this because I feel that Mr Singer is speaking in a way that will make many people who are trapped in addiction feel more shameful, isolated and hopeless when they can't do what he is advocating by themselves. Self-will is great, but addiction robs people of it. Getting help is not shameful. It's necessary sometimes, and very brave. Thanks.

I agree, don't know a lot about this but in my experience people who don't have your particular vice or a habit will always says things like "just don't do it" as if you could. It's abusive in my mind. Also, from phones to soaps to cakes to p*rn to gssip....*everyone's got something*. It just depends on what "permitted" or otherwise.

@@user-bf3pc2qd9s In another talk Mickeys says, if I gave you $10M to stop smoking (or whatever), could you do it? A lot of people could quit for $10M which means they can't quit for $0 because they don't want it enough. something to think about....
