We really miss this old girl! She’s a beaut! We live in Milford haven and we used to go over to rosslare and back on this ship just for fun! My dad used to drive the lorries on to her or load freight onboard at Pembroke dock - he still does this job but now it’s on the blue star ship. The aft verandah was our favorite spot especially sailing down the Cleddau. Lovely ship! Thanks for sharing! 👍🏻

I was part of a team of engineers who were involved with commissioning her when she was a new build. I later sailed on her on the Dublin Holyhead and Rosslare Pembroke Dock routes. A very well built ship with great reliably due to her four engines in two separate engine rooms. Two shaft driven generators from the main engines and three diesel generators . Built in Holland by Van Der Giessen. She was the best ship I worked on.

      Hi. Thanks for watching!
I dont know about technical stuff but from a passenger point of view her interior is very well fitted out. I adore the Irish themed bar!

@@A2BviaSeaonTV The interior was one of the last projects of Claus Horn's design studio in Copenhagen. We had already done the Innisfree (now Kaitaki) with him so knew what to expect. Claus was very adept at making an interior arrangement that did only involve modest structural changes. His inventiveness meant that issues were always solved quickly whilst maintaining the design concept of the interior. For a structural engineer Claus was the easiest architect I ever worked with.

@@d.j.vanderschoot3717 I also worked on the Inishfree.Well laid out ship but suffered very badly with vibration issues resulting in remedial work carried out in later years but unfortunately it wasn't a great success.

We supplied and installed the FiFi and safety equipment. Times when we still had a signifivcant ship building industry in Holland.

Ah alright, just curious as in the promotion Dover-Calais video from Irish Ferries the snacks on offer looked a lot better/fancier compared to DFDS and P&O.
