  • Love this vacuum but I hate how long it takes to clean. Seeing how much time it saves after it makes a map. I want it to clean without going back to recharge?

    Personally, I could not care less about how long it takes, how loud it vacuums. I just want it to do a good job, not get stuck on obstacles, empty when needed, return to base without error, and not be glitchy.

In apartments with 2 people working from home that doesnt cut it. If it takes triple time for Roomba is because of the idiotic navigation algorithm.

    Just something to note, for some people, they have the vacuum run while they are at work, so how long it takes doesn't really matter as long as its done by the end of the work day.

    I think that the s9 is probably the best vacuum in this form factor. But it's far from the best *robot* vacuum.
    Issues such as low battery capacity & poor smart navigation have been plaguing iRobot's products for years.
    For reference, the only models I know of to have anything higher than an 1800mAh battery are the i8, 980 & s9.
    Even those models don't go higher than 3300mAh. These are vacuums that cost almost $1000 (The s9 costs $1670 if you're in England. Even without the Clean Base)

  • @xeon2k8
    @xeon2k8 3 года назад +1

    If you think about it for a sec, you said Roborock takes 1h 10m with 50% of the battery. That’s 50% of 5200 so 2600mah. The S9 has 3300mah and yet can’t even finish it in a run, taking 3 times more than the S5, or 50% longer if we only count the total cleaning time of the S9 of 1h 46m.

    • @ExclamationMarx
      @ExclamationMarx 3 года назад

      It's probably because iRobot still drools over camera navigation. The efficiency of Roombas (Meaning the time taken per square metre of cleaning area) is far worse than almost any LiDAR robot vacuum

  • @xraargu6212

    Big fan of my S9. When it cleans my kitchen area if I remove the chairs (6) it takes ~25 mins to clean the area. If I leave the chairs it takes ~50mins. That's an additional 4 minutes and 10 seconds per chair or 62.5 seconds per chair leg. Roomba needs to work a lot on handling chairs, tables, lamps, etc.

    I see the Roomba s9 as the "professional series". The fact it can't clean a floor plan on a single charge is quite disappointing.
    As a professional series Roomba, I would expect it to clean the whole floor plan of say a hotel or a restaurant. I have a Roomba 555, and that is nearly 11 years old now, so Roombas are by all means reliable. I would even go to say a 500 series Roomba would do well in a commercial setting.
