for a minute there, thought this was the previous power feed cable bury...yeh, for my money, always feed one piece of conduit at a time and then glue afterwards. last time i pulled wires through conduit, my conduit was smaller than it should have been, so it was a real chore pulling two 10/3 wires through a 1 1/2" pipe. Great work, Sam. Love seeing you teaching your boys how a man works. Hate to think you might someday run out of home improvement projects and good stuff to video.

For future reference, they make a cable lube which can make pulling wires through conduit much easier. I also leave the bends off the conduit until after the pull and just slide them over the ends, which also makes the pull easier. Lastly, and this is surely not electrician approved (except my electrican didn't seem to mind on our 450 ft pull), I got on my UTV and used it to do the majority of pulling the wire through the conduit. Lol. The pull took like 30 seconds and was easy peasey.

Spray silicone on your end and your bends there at the end, will help in slide easier. Or dust powder down in them. That's a lot of wires to pull at once! It'll be so nice to have it all safely in conduit! And the boys are big help now!

You must be very glad you had to buy 2" conduit. The smaller would have been impossible to pull.

Be glad you used the 2 inch conduit trying to pull it through 1 and and 1/2 would have been a nightmare you would not have wanted. If you need to this again remember pull it through the conduit first. You can even do it above ground. But make sure you decide if you want to pull it through the elbows or not, you can pull it slide down the elbow and glue it. Good work. Nice to see you working with your boys.

When you're attaching a bunch of wires to your pull string, stagger the ends so that when it gets to a bend it will start with a single wire bending then add one wire at a time instead of forcing the whole bundle to bend at once.
Also I was going to mention not to use mason string because it will cut right through the pipe in addition to cutting your hands up (unless you wear gloves like Angela said)

My absolute LEAST favorite thing to do, run wires.. Most of the stuff I've run in my lifetime was either RG62u (old Arcnet data networks), RG6, RG5x, and Cat5/6/7/etc, lol. I couldn't even begin to count how many miles of Arcnet stuff I installed back in the day, not to mention Cat5 stuff, lol. If we do go with a ground-based installed, I luckily only have about 40-50' at most from the array(s) to the house, nowhere near the lengths you're working with. At worst, I could always run everything into our out building (it'll be next to said array(s)), but I'd need to insulate and climate control that building if we were to use it as a 'power shed' type setup. I'll definitely be following this project to the end, as it's giving me an idea of what we're going to face if we go through with it.

I just pulled 4 4-0 wires through 2 1/2" conduit over 100'. I used the winch on my side-by-side to pull the wire. I didn't see you put CAUTION tape over the wire and conduit? Supposed to be 1' below ground level. Helps to warn someone in the future that might be digging so they don't hit the wires.
