This is actually really interesting but I just don't think you can run gengar with a second energy right now, Gengar in general struggles heavily for consistency and so you really just need to match the opponent's pace with your own supports and maybe push with weezing

The worst part of the game is that the packs are not “boxed” you can pull 1 pack or 300 packs and not get the card you want. Where other card games (like duel links) puts a limit on what you can get out of a “box” so you’re guaranteed the card you want eventually by emptying the box
the not "boxed" is fine. it just needs more rewards for pack points/exchanging dupes for pack points instead of flair. use a similar version of what hearthstone/MtGA uses by making it so you can craft cards easier.
@@tastystrudelI agree. The fact that paid for piles of copies can’t be turned into cards you want… until trading comes out… I hope there isn’t some major restrictions on trading.. I’m hoping it’s “same rarity” trade requirements and that’s about it…
I thought it would be much worse. But the issue in duel links was that the chance for a specific UR in a normal box was 1/200 or 0.5%, which increased for every pack opened, but once you obtained it there was no other copy, until you reset the box, thereby lowering the odds for all other UR/SR cards again. And F2P players really struggled to obtain enough gems for packs (I wad a fountain clicker, got my 4-10 gems per day by clicking on the background). Atleast Pokemon TCGP gives you plenty of opportunities for opening packs, atleast 2 packs every 21 hours. 9:58 I would love psychic to receive an aggro play style deck. the thing is articuno dies oneshot to pikachu EX, while articuno EX and starmie EX take 2 hits. so with the 2 EX variants its all about who attacks first, which you can manage with misty and the 10dmg pops against the bench from articuno EX can soften up some pokemon so they go down to a oneshot. normal articuno is also a coin flip, so you can high roll, but also completly mess up. best case you do 120 dmg with 2 attacks, so even if you win the coin flip a potion on pika EX and you need 3 attacks and win 2 coin flips. the atk is also a 3 energy one, while articuno EX can already attack with just 2, which makes it much more likely with a misty being able to attack, especially when you go first and misty is the only card which can give a player going first the ability to attack. i still think double starmie EX and double articuno EX is the way to go.

I've tried replacing EX with regular articuno and not feeling it. Relying on a coinflip to be effective feels bad and only 60 damage for 3 energy isn't great if you miss the coinflip. EX at least starts putting pressure on the opponent at 2 energy if you aren't blessed with misty. Regular Articuno is nice as an early game wall while you battery other stuff at only 1 retreat cost while only being worth 1 point if it does get sniped before switching out. Overall EX has done a better job as a wall for me while still applying some sort of pressure when it needs to without relying on coin flips.
Articuno EX has better break points for damage against matchups like Pikachu EX and being able to hit the backline consistently is arguably better than a coin toss on paralyze at the expense of 20 damage upfront and 10 damage to the bench. No contest EX is better
