I feel like Gengar somewhat conflicts Alakazam's game plan. Alakazam wants people to burn through their resources and then counter with a OHKO does it not? Seems counteractive if Gengar is slowing down the game, potentially allowing them to get multiple attackers set up
I got my first Sabrina two days ago, and immediately a second on the same day and a third yesterday. Updated all my decks and wow, I'm actually playing the game now. Oh right. Favourite Pokemon are Snorunt and Froslass.
@@SPECK4ever I’m glad your fav pokemon is crustle and it’s wonderful to know it was before pokemon unite, but how does this statement correlate to this game or video? Especially how crustle isn’t in this game.
My favorite pokemon has been Poliwrath, for as long as I can remember. Simple design, but badass, cool ability, just a little sad his stats aren't great. But I'm happy to see him in TCG Pocket !
Nice! He's a close second for me behind Empoleon, actually got a Poliwrath tattoo recently based on his design in Pokemon Close Combat (which I really recommend, it's an indie fighting game).
My favorite is tyranitar. I’m really hoping the game will give us a really good tyranitar card. I’ve been wishing for a really good tyranitar card for a while. My second hope is that a new tyranitar line will be in the dark type and we can get more targeted dark type support to match and make a new meta to combat mewtwo.
My fav pokemon are definitely Salandit and Salazzle, but Miraidon is a close second! Arbok is actually up there as well (which probably makes it no surprise that Arbok decks are some of my favorites to play in Pocket lol)
I’ve been rocking this duo for a while now. The only difference is I added Hypno to annoy the opponent by putting them to sleep with his ability and tank some hits while I build up Alakazam and Gengar
I feel like everyone was hyping dragonite up as the "big" single prize late game sweeper but for my money I'm betting on alakazam all day. It sets up easier and like u said pretty much OHKO's everything one by one once its set up putting insane pressure on the opponent to remove it quickly or risk losing. I've seen it sweep a lot of games once it gets set up. Plus who doesn't love the abra line 🥰. Can't wait to try this deck out for myself.
Have you tried Pidgeotto yet? I’m running the bird with two mankey promos after I heard you gush about Sabrina and read the bird’s ability. You get Sabrina every turn, from your bench. Add in a hitmonlee and a meowth and you have a fairly consistent midrange control deck. I would love to see the bird paired with a Starmie ex over the mankey for even more board control…then you could even cheat out Misty tempo.
You need something cheap and aggressive to dominate in the early game until Alakazam & its targets are ready. Gengar's cheap, but since it's a stage too it takes too long to set-up. You need something similar to Starmie EX or Pikachu EX. Alternatively, you need a good way to stall until Alakazam is ready. A big, bulky wall Abra/ Kadabra can hide behind which you can then retreat for Alakazam.
Was struggling against the meta for a little while doing the Versus battles event (won 8 from about 30) until I made a Dragonite deck with with a couple colourless sponges (2x chansey initially but now Tauros and Wooloo/Dubwool) have since won 35 from 40 matches. 2x Dragonite lines, 1x Tauros, 1x Wooloo/Dubwool and the rest trainers
Here's a Deck I like using that I call Acoolticuno Tentacool x2 Tentacrule x2 Articuno x1 Articuno EX x1 Misty x2 Prof. Oak x2 Sabrina x2 Poke Ball x2 Potion x2 X Speed x2 Red Card x2 You could also run just 2 Regular Articuno if you don't care about the extra damage that ex does.
Yeah, my main issue with my Gengar deck was that it wasn't strong enough to KO any big monsters. Zam kills things even better than Mewtwo... but building up two 3 stages is a pretty huge ask. The standard zam deck with a Weezing works better for me
I’d love to see a deck with 2 different eeveelutions. I’ve been trying to make one and I just can’t seem to figure out how to make it even relatively consistent.
You can actually run dragonite with Jolteon and Vaporeon since Dragonite is dual energy anyway. Eeveelutions are good stage 1s to stall into Dragonite end game
The last opponent probably were doing time stall, because they used almost all the timer count to play, is getting frequently people using that to make opponents quit because how long duels take
Even against Pikachu EX Alakazam has pretty perfect numbers. 120 OHKOs Pika and 150 OHKOs Zapdos. Only issue is you're clipped by the Raichu variants but it shouldn't be impossible to go 2 for 1 or better on points
Love your content Spragels. You motivated me to start my own content based on Pokémon TCGP coming soon on a different channel I’m working on..favorite Pkm is Charizard 🔥!!
I've actually been using this deck for about a week now and i don't use gengar ex cuz its basically the same but cheaper and the main reason i partnered zam with gar is that gengar is a cheap on energy tank that also prevents my opponent from just sabrining my abra to pieces because game always gives me 2 alakazam but no kadabras whatsoever
Favorite pokemon would be grafaiai, but favorite card in this game is for sure jolteon. Getting to gamble with coin flips for a total of 160 damage is very fun
@GreenhouseGoblin not necessarily. Zapdos require 3 energy (specifically electric which most often dont matter as ppl use mono 90% of the time), but jolteon only require 2 energy (only 1 electric). The 1 extra energy for zapdos is at times too slow which makes setting up jolteon a bit easier, but yeah zapdos is often better. Jolteon also only grant 1 price point so sacking it don't hurt you that badly
Yeah i can see that, but tbh its pretty easy to find the pokemon you need considering we only use 20 card decks. In normal tcg if you run 4 copies, odds are you find one every 15 cards. Here with 2 in 20, odds are you get it in 10. Personally havent had that much problem with it even when splashing the one jolteon copy i have, but its easier the fewer other evolutions you bring in the deck. And its only a stage 1 evo so pretty quick to online. If you do it on curve, you'll even get all needed energy on it at the same time it evolves
20:05 Lmaoo. But this is why you don't throw the game when you think you won't win. Always keep playing cuz you never know if there's a path to victory! (And your opponent could always mess up too!)
I love Pika but people are realizing how to counter. I've been running Char/Moltres build and I've been smashing. That was my first team but I was a little uneducated in how to play properly how ever. After learning other builds char is so easy to run now. Only lost 1 match out of 15 today.
this is not fully related to the vid but I don't get one thing: the points we use to unlock decks, will they ever expire? I don't get if I'll have all the time to collect 2500 pack points or if it will expire before the next collection or whatever.
6:57 your opp could've won if he just focused on Alakazam rather than killing the Abra on bench since Kadabra Evo needs 3 energy to do damage, it really matters to know your matchups
So I haven't played Pokemon TCG since the early 2000s, but doesn't "Stage 2" on the card refer to the previous evolution in the line, vs that card itself? Confused re: "Stage 2 Gengar" at the top of the video 🧐
Alakazam alone can be really inconsistent being a stage 2 i dont think it's right to play it with another stage 2, but hey when it works (rarely) its fun i guess
I cracked up so hard when you said "Alakazam's getting ready, he's looking for his shoes."
He's so funny.
I’ve used this deck the main problem is this deck is waaaay too slow against most decks but it is a fun deck when it works
Yeah I run with wheezing and meowth and runs a lot better.
@ true but sometimes you get unlucky with the double energy and can’t attack with Gengar
I feel like Gengar somewhat conflicts Alakazam's game plan. Alakazam wants people to burn through their resources and then counter with a OHKO does it not? Seems counteractive if Gengar is slowing down the game, potentially allowing them to get multiple attackers set up
@@vapingghosts2649 he is probably talking about the wheezing Alakazam combo
This deck is way too inconsistent and slow atm, most decks have a much simpler and consistent gameplan.
My favorite Pokemon has been Gengar ever since I was a kid and Greninja is a close second
I got my first Sabrina two days ago, and immediately a second on the same day and a third yesterday. Updated all my decks and wow, I'm actually playing the game now.

Fellow Squirtle lover here! Been my favorite since I first opened my GameBoy Color x Pokémon Blue blister bundle.
Team Rocket decklist in the middle part XD, gonna try this deck, have been playing all Alakazam variants, really love that card
I LOVE the videos! My favourite Pokemon is Gengar, but I really love the Magearna design

Favorite Pokemon have and always be Gengar. Been that way since I played Pokemon Red, blue, and yellow as a kid.
ive been running both wigglytuff with meltan and the versatility they provide as an early and late wall is rlly nice
I love Furret! Hope we get it in game next set. Ive looked through past Furret pTCGL cards and they seem to be all about draw.
I have been playing this deck with two regular gengars, and its great! Takes down many mewtwo decks and water decks.
Looking forward to the promo Haunter. I like the risk/reward with the coin flip

My favourite pokemon is Espurr, love that silly cat
Squirtle is indeed the Pokemon of champions.
Alakazam and wheezing is sooooo good!
Favourite Pokemon: Snorlax (always has been and always will be)
Two stage 2 Pokémon in a deck brings consistency problems with it, but the deck looks still pretty fun!
