The golf ball is not moving, why am I? You’re spot on, I was thinking about it the other day as I watched face on video of me swaying back off the ball in the backswing, it just doesn’t make sense to do that because it requires you to be impossibly precise in your timing at contact and makes it nearly certain that you’ll never make consistent contact. Great tips, thanks for being so humble in your approach! ❤
Stack and tilt is cheat code for golf. Changed my game since being taught by a S&T teacher. Put all notions of what you think / thought it was (it’s a system not a swing for starters) and get a lesson from a qualified teacher and you’ll ball striking and knowledge of game will increase
Thank you 🙏 I used the 60/40 and shot a Net 57 on a par 70 Today but I watch a few videos yesterday Thank you I have the bell on 🥃 Regards the bush ranger
Tried the glove under the armpit drill on the range before my last round, then went out and broke 80 for the first time with a 76! I also found rucking my golf shirt under my armpit on the course allowed me to have the same feeling playing. Maybe a flash in the pan, but will give you the credit for a great video. Nice clear, simple advice. Thanks
Recently found your channel and really enjoying your content. All videos are well explained and not unnecessarily long, well done. With regards to the impact drill, would you be able to do a separate video on this or provide the key points to focus on when doing?
In the 90's I was being told that I needed to move my weight to the right leg etc as you describe it. Now we have the teaching of keeping more weight on the left, with the impact position having the leaning shaft! its great to know that 40 years ago I was so far ahead of the game!! Really good simple to understand video with three things to work on.
... great tip, been doing it a while and it really does help, also love the tip about something under the right arm definitely helps to keep the right arm connected, a great help for those like me always fighting a habitual slice and over the top move....
Love the tips.. I've seen and used them before as well.. one question for you though as it pertains to the last drill.. how do you go from holding off the release in your drill to hitting on the course and ensuring you're releasing it properly?
Glad you like the video Chris! Doing lots of this drill will get you into the feeling of a ‘body release’ holding the face stable. Look at videos of Alex noren, Dustin Johnson, the list goes on and on. Doing this drill loads will give you a feeling that you can hit it harder and not lose control of the Clubface with it rolling over. Let me know how you get on! Sam
I drive 280 with a +/- 105-110mph club speed , but still struggle with the feeling of a good release...That's the thing that i really have a hard time doing right and lose a couple yards because of that or get an open face sometimes causing to fade my shots, but before it was even worst i was always slicing everything.
Tough to really diagnose without seeing it! You’ve obviously got some nice speed and carry on your drives - but it sounds like it might be an ‘all arms’ move, try putting a towel under your armpits and get that feeling of being connected, it will feel slower at the start but will get your more connected and hopefully improve your path to more ‘in to out’. Let me know how you get on! Sam
Great Q, these are mainly for hitting down on shots - like you would for irons. Hitting ‘up’ on shots like a driver is slightly different. Video coming soon!!
Just discovered your channel Sam and watched a few of the videos - good stuff, simple and encouraging too. You have a new subscriber! The thought about 'the ball isn't moving' is a good one and keeping the right arm more connected to the torso is one I'll give a go at the range. It would be have been good to talk through the 3rd tip / impact drill more, break it down maybe, to help practice it more effectively for us hackers! Btw, where do you film your videos from? It looks a really nice course and facility!
Hey Johnny glad you’re enjoying the videos and thanks for the message! Don’t worry - more content like this coming soon! I film at my home golf course in Oxfordshire. Thanks! Sam
Hi Sam. Really enjoying your content, it sounds like I suffer from similar issues that you did, so going to give this a go. Can I ask tho, do you still feel like you’re shifting pressure, even tho your weight is staying 60% on the front? Cheers Dave
Do you think any playing pro uses this 60% plus weight on left foot? Looking at slow mo videos... they all seem to shift weight at least at the start of the backswing. I do agree though that it makes sense.
I can confirm that the feeling of holding a small amount extra weight on the left side is extremely popular and is used on Tour a lot. It may appear on camera though as remaining ‘centred’. Especially when the wind is up and you need to knock the ball flight down a touch, getting left earlier is a real easy way to start getting better compression. Hope that helps! :-)
Have a look at Xander Shauffle he does it quite obviously. Even more obvious in person I noticed it at the Scottish open last week. Only bit I struggle with the more stack and tilt swing is the release but if you watch the pros they really release the body (not hands so much) on to that left leg and around
Thanks Sophia! Driver for me is different, you are hitting down on irons, you are hitting ‘Up’ on the driver so it’s less sitting on the left side so you can launch the ball. Hope that makes sense!
Hmm, tough to know exactly as can't see your swing Jimmy, but the usuals can be found in alignment, grip being too weak (in either hand) or an over the top move. Hope that helps! Sam
@@FeelGoodGolf i would say more over the top, coming from out to in, would this be helpful to put something under arm like you have in this video? Or something else i can work on?
Do you feel that when you add extra weight to your left hand side , you still get the feeling of wanting to feel that weight go into your left heel. And do you do this with every club in your bag.
Not so much, I set it there at the start and turn around myself more than swaying back and forth. Driver little different as you want to ideally hit up not ‘down’ like you would with irons/wedges. Hope that helps Jeff!
Perhaps I misunderstand, but when pros talk about shifting weight, they’re not talking about moving body mass, but pressure into the floor. The reason for it that this transfer of pressure increases power. If you watch any of the top pros, they all look like the weight is staying forward as they don’t move off the ball at all (Tony Finau is a great example), but the pressure mat shows this is not the case. Besides that, they have already “re-centered” by the top of the back swing. Any thoughts? Anyhow, looking forward to following you career from here and best of luck. Subscribed 😊
This is a really great point and as mentioned we are all different, but for the 90% of golfers including myself. Remaining to some extent in that lead leg is going to benefit so much. For me I could then hit the ground in the same spot every time without having to ‘time it’. Hope that helps Edward!
@@FeelGoodGolf Allow me to jump in respectfully. But you still have to time it with good tempo. You can do the S&T tenants and be out of synch and just throw your hands into the ground, esp with the more inside-out path and sooner low-point. You still need timing, albeit less. Right? I did S&T with 2 different certified instructors and still had fat shots gallore.
I say stay center of swing not left or right. It brings club at same spot in downswing. If u mover around both way too much u will not dome back to the same spot in downswing. Stack n tilt has a problem becoz there is no power.
@@FeelGoodGolfS&T is a system based on studying what the best players in world do (similarities). Most people don’t understand that and think it’s some weird wonky swing….all in the name. If book called stack and tilt system and not swing, would have saved them a lifetime worth of questions and ridicule.

Great video!
Was straight up the range after watching this.
Towel under right armpit
Ball striking improved instantly❤️❤️
Dispersion and distance also improved

Hi Sam are we looking at ball of the foot or pressure on the toe
I actually feel like it’s more in the heel to be honest 👍🏼

I'm pretty much doing the same, helps take pressure off the old back, but do you do the same for driver as well pretty much?
Driver slightly different swing, as it’s hitting up on the ‘up’ not hitting down. Hope that helps! Sam

Great video and do you keep 60% of your weight on left foot with driver and fairway woods as well? Cheers!
I would say 50/50 but definitely remaining centred and not shifting off the ball 👍🏼
I tried keeping my weight forward and it helped greatly with ball striking but not with the driver. Should I remain more even for the driver?
Hey Nic! Driver different swing all together as hitting up compared to irons targeting compression so should be left and hitting down more
@@FeelGoodGolf thanks for getting back to me. Where should my weight be for driver?
👍 Some great little tips, im struggling with driver at the moment lets say 6 out of 10 drivers im slicing so any handy tips?

Out of curiosity, how come you stopped being pro?
It came down to sponsorship really. Even winning at the tours below the main tours is not sustainable without sponsorship/funding

Stack and tilt gets a bum rap. The Pro's get over to their lead side WAY earlier than most people realize.
100%
