  • As an avid sketchbook pro user It is very unfortunate that there aren’t many videos out there on how to make use of the program to do things like webtoon. Autodesk sketchbook is a very useful program and for those who love to use it as much as I do I have made this video to help push you in the right direction towards making a webtoon. With the webtoon call to action contest being so sudden it was not possible for me to try and experiment with another software in order to get the project done so in order to make the comic I found all the ways sketchbook would make doing it just as easy as another software. For the most part. Though this video is less of a tutorial and more of a documentation of my process I hope it helps.
    Hello and welcome to Edenwick, a place where I share my experiences as an artist and art student learning how to draw. Hopefully the art tips and information provided to you in this video/tutorial was helpful to you in your journey. I am not yet a professional artist but I'm hoping that by giving advice and sharing my journey, I can help other intermediate and beginner artists to get better at art, whether it be drawing, painting, digital art, traditional art, concept art, or even comic art. I feel we all have so much to learn, but it's hard to do it alone.
    Are you an artist?
    A fellow traveler on an art journey of improvement?
    Whether you’re just starting out or you have been learning your craft for a while, im sure we can all agree that Getting better at art is not easy.
    On our own we can find ourselves stuck and frustrated.
    And oftentimes it can be a jumbled mess of not knowing what to do next in order to improve.
    Or maybe the answers we find are too vague for us to understand at the level we are at.
    But the thing is, we don’t have to be alone on this journey.

    As artist we often hear "you should be using this program" or "you should be using this tool", but in the end what might be the right tool or program for one person may not be a good fit for someone else. I'm glad you've found a tool/program that you enjoy using for your webcomic creation. For myself, I'm using Photoshop, since that is the program I'm most familiar with, but if I ever had the opportunity to get a program like Clip Studio Paint or other popular comic creating program I'd definitely give it a try for sure! :) It's good to explore different programs and try new things sometimes.
    Whatever tools we use though, it's important to try and have fun and enjoy the process. :) Making comics is often a LOT of WORK, but it can also be REWARDING at the same time! :) I hope you have fun creating! I look forward to seeing your comic!

      Exactly. People forget that programs are just tools and that the end result can be just as good with any software. But at the sale time some limit themselves by trying to use a tool that doesn’t work well with them which is why its always good to branch out. Im slowly learning photoshop and would love to try clip as well. 😊

      @@WelcomeToEdenwick Aaron Blaise, Disney animator and artist, has been using Photoshop a lot. All the sudden, he started trying out Krita. His works are still looking good after using that software. He could try Clip Art Studio and still end up with good results. So it really proves that software does not make the artwork look good; it is the person who is using the software. Also a good artist will always learn something new everyday.

    Hellz yeah man, I draw all my panels in blender which makes background designing very easy for me as well and since it's all 3D, perspective and composition are much easier to setup as well, hope all goes well with your entry can't wait to check it out keep up the awesome work ✌😁

      Thanks a bunch 🙏🏾😊. And blender is saving me tons of time. Its been a while since I’ve used it though since my school has us use other software. Its changed so much in just a few short years.

    Hi Edenwick,
    just so you know: even if you haven't finished your webtoon until call to action deadline, I would still love to see it when it's finished.
    I can't wait to read it!

    Honestly I am starting to try to get into doing comics and it's nice to see somebody that's also using SketchBook.
    I'm actually using the mobile version but I'm trying to find a tablet or maybe computer version any tips when it comes to making comics

    I was using clip studio paint before but the whole money process had some error issues so thats gone. Then i found sketchbook pro. I love this software and would like to work on comics but just so confused with all the features n what not. Im good at drawing, story telling and making the characters for sure. I never give up at least 🤣💯 so thats a start

    • @WelcomeToEdenwick

      never giving up is the first step in the process. I love Sketchbook Pro so much for drawing, but its multitasking capabilities are not that great, so making a comic with it got a bit chaotic. I'm currently looking for a good program to use in both price and capabilities. photoshop is a definite no. 😂

      @WelcomeToEdenwick 😂Yeah photoshop isn't all that either. I love sketchbook pro, but I would like to use a good software that's good for comics that's not too pricey also

      I did it 2400 x 15360. But that's for drawing quality. Will have to be made smaller for posting I believe.

    I just bought SKetchbook pro for PC ... but thewre's an issue with the color picker in Windows 10 ... slelects wrong screen color. You have this experience?

    • @WelcomeToEdenwick
      @WelcomeToEdenwick  Год назад +1

      I can't say I've experienced that issue. But I am also using an older version of the software, from when it was free. Does it select the wrong color everytime?

    • @cosmicfxx
      @cosmicfxx Год назад +1

      @@WelcomeToEdenwick yes wrong color each time. But I spoke to devs and we managed to track down the culprit. If a user is using dual monitors with different resolutions it appears to happen ... but they said they're going to look into it to find a fix.

    • @WelcomeToEdenwick
      @WelcomeToEdenwick  Год назад +1

      @@cosmicfxx thats good, glad it was handled. color picking is essential and id get frustrated if it didn't work.
