Are thre parts of Mexico that have cold winters.
The northern region, especially the areas higher in the mountains, can get cold during the winter but many vacation destinations remain fairly warm
@CreativeTravelGuide I want to retire in one of the colder regions of Northern Mexico where at least I could get some winter. I would not want to live where the climate is mostly warm year round.
I went in 2010, had no idea whatsoever about the blood thirsty drug cartels, don't think I'll be going back...

Every destination has it's issues but many, many , many people travel to Mexico without any issues! Just make sure to stay in a good location :)
