    Love that photo of the women on the escalator. Nice one! I am a keen photographer like yourself and like all sorts of photography. I left London 30 odd years ago but go back once a year. I was there a week ago and love shooting around the same area. What strikes me is the incredible amount of photographic opportunity in the city. I had a good couple of days and came away with some winners. The weather was also incredibly good so I could take advantage of shadows/highlights and the blue sky for colour shots. Good stuff!

      You were lucky with the weather. Yes, you’re right, it is a fabulously rich place for photos - and it’s ever changing.

    For me, videos like this are more about just joining you on a photo walk. I enjoyed it. 😎📷👍

      Thanks Steve - that’s a good way of looking at it. I hope that they are helpful in showing other people how I see the streets and make my images .

    Interesting video Hugh, always like seeing what other street photographers see in familiar locations. The music did make laugh, my wife also called out to ask what I was watching, “are you watching Austin Powers?!?!” 😂

      Haha - I’ll take that as the highest compliment. Shout out to your wife! Thanks Julian.

    Nice video Hugh, i love a walk along the south bank with my camera actually i love walking round most of London. Have you ever been to the Barbican? thats a great place for photography, brutalist architecture and plenty of interesting people.

      Yes I have - it’s a great place though it’s yet to deliver me an image I really like. I totally agree about walking around London - always changing and always something new to see.

    6:14 I know what you mean by a shopping trolley kind of day, but as I watch this some 15,000kms away in Australia I can't help but see compositions and subjects in your footage that I thought I would take if were there. It's common to not see things in your own backyard, we all become a bit bored with our usual surroundings. One photographers backyard is a visiting photographers gold mine. I need to visit London again!

      Totally get that. Not only the familiarity but I know when I watch pov videos I’m always wondering how the photographer didn’t take certain images. From experience, I’ve learned that I don’t always look where the GoPro is looking. While I didn’t really get any salmon I did do better than a shopping trolley!

    Though I did notice the 'camera police' and got pulled up quite a few times.

    Great video but it really, really does not need the constant background music. Just irritating. Videos do not need constant noise.

      Noted! Yeah. It’s one of the earlier ones and the sound went up to eleven. Glad you enjoyed the video - thanks for the feedback (pun intended).

      Yeah - I get that. I’ve learned from that and turned it down in subsequent films. Thanks for the feedback.

    Why are they hot on photographers at More London Place Hugh ? Surely it's a public right of way ?

    • @hughrawson
      @hughrawson  5 месяцев назад +1

      Yep - public right of way but privately owned. Similar to shopping malls and other areas of, for example, City of London financial district.

      @@hughrawson I see. Thanks Hugh. In that case does one have to write to the private company that owns it and ask permission ? I've done this with a couple of shopping malls and they have obliged.
