In this video, Ria Health speaks with Dr Adi Jaffe, nationally recognized expert on mental health, addiction and stigma about his book, The Abstinence Myth. We will discuss a new approach to treating alcohol addiction and other addictions that don’t involve shame, stigma or rules. Alcohol use disorder (AUD) impacts millions of people worldwide-and there are more effective, proven ways to address the misuse of alcohol than AA, 12 steps, or rehab. In this video, we’ll talk about how someone struggling with alcohol dependence can begin to change their experience, and make improvements toward a better version of themselves.
Ria Health delivers evidence-based care that includes medications, one on one support, a digital app, and progress tools. We support people who want to either reduce or stop drinking with the care of an expert medical team and community support.
We use safe and FDA approved medications such as naltrexone, which is the cornerstone of the Sinclair Method. We also support not for profit advocates that promote awareness of options for people who want to change their relationship with alcohol. We are proud sponsors of Claudia Christian's CThree Foundation and Moderation Management.

I went within a week from 2 bottles of (2 pints) of vodka most days down to a glass of wine. I went out for works Xmas meal the other night and had 2 glasses of wine. I get to a point where I feel FULL and switch to soft drinks. I’ve not had a drink for 3 days. I don’t stress on this method cuz I know I can drink if I get the urge. As long as I put my crash helmet on first (naltrexone)

It's been my first week on naltrexone, and I'm so glad I've found it. Finally, for once in a long time I feel more in control of liquor, then liquor being in control of me. I've greatly reduced my drinking immediately.

I wish my brother who died from suicide - through pills and alcohol - could have met this man. Sadly, he lost hope quite early in his life.

As I've worked through my own struggles with addiction, I've always thought about how intimidating it is to tell an alcoholic that he may NEVER drink again. Ever. And when people DO relapse, they feel worse about themselves because they weren't able to live up to this unachievable and unrealistic ideal.

What a pity. Ria Health only for the US. The Netherlands still living in the stone age. Here all the standard methods that fail heavily.
