@@ZealousChuck I have been playing ps1 games without a grip and it works but for some games it can be a bit hard to press on the rearpad and can give hand cramps so a grip like this could be very useful for those games. I don't think I'd say it's a must have but at such a low price why not buy it.
@@ZealousChuck i believe it is not a must, but a necessary one. The l2r2 is really handy, you can stand the vita up, put it on it’s back without worrying about damaging the rear end. The nubs are designed to be like that of console controller so you dont have to spread your fingers to the entire back of the vita, just grip the nubs, that way you can have a firm grip on the vita without fear of dropping it.
@@ZealousChuck Just recently I got ODEs for Saturn and Dreamcast, microsd adapters for PSP and Vita, PSP case, bluetooth receivers for Saturn, PS2, DC...
Modded my childhood psp go with a new battery and 128gbs of games. And I still have like 15 GBs internal left over I’ll probably put pictures and music I like that’s period themed to the device because nostalgia. Plus the custom power armor back shell so you can install a larger battery if you want. + screen protector for this “retro” device 🥲 as the guy at GameStop called it.
I have the Hori one, greatly improves remote play and emulation. This is a knock-off, it looks exactly the same. The Hori one is out of stock everywhere, so I'm glad there is someone else who makes this product (and sells it at a lower price)
Chuck there's a square piece that can be bought separately to cover your rear touch pad completely and it adds L3 and R3 also makes gripping even better. Also there's a "top player" case that fits the whole set up with both grips. I have it and its very good keeps Vita safe
I got one for the 2000. It doesnt have the front cover so careful on handling. It was great. The nub really help you grip the vita in long playtime. It also really comfortable gaming lying down (my kind of chill). The grip make the vita look kind of bulky, so fitting it in small bag is kinda difficult or you may wear down the stick or scratch the screen. The clams for the vita slim can be easily break or scratch you vita if not install correctly. Edit1: it was great. I have a blast with it. Also, the l1r1 was not as obstructive as the one for vita 1000
funny. i got this yesterday this this comes up lol. also Revita is a good plugin as it lets you map any button (like the back touchpad) so these triggers will work in any game
I have used both the 1k and 2k grips. I like the 2k version without the front cover best. I also added analog stick covers, glass screen protectors, and a system skin. If you leave the system in the grip, it will collect dust and scratch the system, especially the 1k models.
I got one of these too, and found that the thumb positions weren't quite right so was even thinking of making a mod for the mod lol. All up however: it's a solid little grip that does the job really well!
This is a copy of thr original Hori Grip that's been out for a few years. I've been using mine for about 5 years. Lasts long and is very well worth the money. The vita stays pretty snug and I've ecen dropped it a few times. The vita will fall out but the grip surprisingly didn't break even with the flimsy hinges. I bought it for $70 but glad to see there are cheaper options now. Great video!
i've been using one myself for my hacked vita for several year, because it's great for playing pc games through moonlight. i also have the l3/r3 addon that's clipped over the back touchpad space. hori grips are too expensive, so i gave this one a shot. first i was a bit annoyed by how the ps, start and select buttons are covered and it's fiddly to click them, which i'd say is it's biggest downside. the clipping on is indeed a mess as well, but if you do it once and it stays on, it doesn't matter that much. . other than that it's solid if you're looking for a affordable remote play solution for the vita. btw. on my vanilla systems i use the even cheaper chinese made for ps vita handle stands, which give you just the controller feeling without l2/r2 but also cover up less of the console (would be a shame with saphire blue and cosmic red). another good review comrade. 💪
i have these grips and also the ones of the vita 2000, they are good and dont break, just leave them in the case. i also have a carry case from "Top Player" specially for these grips and i love it. Quality isnt bad.
I bought the Hori grip a few years back for my Vita 1000, the real thing. This is a knock off but seems very well made and it's a lot cheaper. The Hori one, even back in the day, was very pricey and now it's nowhere to be found. And if you find a random guy selling it on e-bay, you can be sure it will be very expensive. The Hori 2000 one is also nowhere to be found but there are a lot of offers on e-bay and a bit less expensive. I like the 2000 case better though, there isn't a locking part on top and the L3R3 buttons are part of the actual case, no need to buy a seperate piece!
It is a good especially playing fighting games. It practically turns the vita into a full controller. I wish that the clips were made better. remaping the buttons help to accommodate so that the rear touchpad is not touched by mistake.
It is like a combo. There is a case that fits the ps vita with full grip L2 R2 L3 R3. The 3 pieces is Top Player Brand. I'm not sure what kind of brand it is. But the case is pretty thick and a high-quality material lightly against water. You can be sure that your ps vita will be protected against almost any kind of motion, pressure and a lot of hits on the backpack. I once felt off pretty bad of my bicycle with my ps vita on my case on my backpack and no scratch. Unfortunately my bicycle was bended by the strike. Haha. I like the grip to hold the ps vita in a comfortable way, but I wasn't used much the l2 r2 buttons, just in ps1 games. L3 R3 buttons I have never used them.
I would recommend buying this grip, maybe not necessarily this model, however having a grip is definitely better than not having it, especially because it can also protect against falls, obviously not 100% but still, better than nothing.
I have used a grip that is hard plastic that just clips in and out and it make it feel more like a controller which is good for when playing for more than 30min. It just doesn't add the l2/r2 buttons.
I use that shit since 6 years on my PS Vita for remote play on PS4. And i love that. (But you can't use front and rear protect screen(i use only front on mine))
damn i bouguht a "japanese" version of sometihn tha tlooks exactly like this for over 100 dollars on play asia, and it snapped at bottom very fast, big sad
In Europe, the are selling this at higher price due to added taxes, bruxelles is making harder for us to access chine market, it will be worse for us sadly😢 thanks for the heads-up
Amazing grip, literally because there are 0 options anywhere else. And cause it's actually decent too. Been using this with l3 r3 for 6 months. Amazing
This is not so bad, but it could be a little better quality, let's say it has a protective layer of rubber, which would have an even better grip and feel in the hands. Not bad. 🎮
I've tried this, I liked it at first but over time I found it wayyyyyy less comfortable than just holding the vita without a grip it is not good for long sessions.
This was one of the first thing I bought for my PS Vita and I never took it off again especially if you wanna play PlayStation one games and stream PS4 games and it’s really nice in the hands but some of the PS4 games did have the PS Vita in mind when they develop games and Decided to put r2 and l2 On the front touchscreen which is super annoying And there is absolutely nothing to do about it😢
I will not say framerate is bad on bordelands 2 but with overclock it's the very minimum fps to have a great experience. Without OC honestly I don't think i would play to the game.
Shame this case for model 1k covers the front of the console. That beautiful blue colour what a shame. I have 2k model for my vita and there's no front which I think is better also for the face buttons. I use it the most when playing borderlands too also
