Ukrain’s brave leader had been a stand up comedian prior to election that made him a world leader. Comedians must be super intelligent to find humor in some dark places and guide an audience to see it. Franken should be one of our leaders in some capacity… same with Katie Porter, Liz Chaney and a few others who chose the right side of ‘righteousness’. 🩵

When Senator Franken was first running for office in Minnesota, I spoke to his wife, Franni, at a high school gym caucus. I walked away from that conversation having learned something about Al: he is not dogmatic, he is contemplative and he is open to being wrong about an issue. I want nothing more from politician.

They see us as unworthy of existence, less than, subservient beings…but since there’s so many of us they’ll settle for brood sow or indentured servitude. If we won’t be constantly silent and pregnant, they’ll keep trying to stomp till we are. We are literally asking for the ability to exist the way we see fit and nothing more, and I don’t think we should have to ASK TO EXIST, but keep pushing us. We might end up wanting more than just equality. This goes for any marginalized group currently being attacked for not fitting into a white conservative christian nationalist box. To claim to be a “superior gender” and then be so terrified of women having any power or agency is a level of childish hypocrisy that if it wasn’t so fucking damaging to society writ large, it would be hilarious.

"The current scenario of a top criminal running for president is reminiscent of a time in American history marked by sheer chaos, akin to the violent era of the 1830s. Back then, men engaged in brutal street battles fueled by ethnic and religious disputes, political party henchmen instigated riots during elections, and occurrences of assault and mayhem were so frequent that they appeared ordinary. It's a portrayal of America regressing to tumultuous times, with a figure like Trump at the forefront."

13:31 The failure to advertise and properly campaign a message of hope for the future is what will be the Democrats downfall.
Democrats need to clearly explain the difference between what Republicans want and what Democrats want our goals and clearly and concisely state who we are and state unequivocally what Republicans are.
A message of hope is the only path forward . And a message explaining to Americans that their healthcare choices and their bodily autonomy is on the line. These should be pounded in the media every single day in every media outlet
Instead of talking about climate change, talk about the necessity to make sure we have clean air, clean safe, drinking water and uncontaminated food. talk about the very real threats and consequences of natural disasters that face us.
You need to educate the public and simultaneously give them hope . Give us the American dream back!!!

Minnesotan here, Paul's funeral was packed. I didn't make it inside but was in a huge crowd outside. We lost an extraordinary public servant when Paul died. He and his wife were staunch supporters of domestic violence survivors. They donated his salary raises to shelters for people experiencing abuse. I proudly voted for Walter Mondale (Fritzy to his friends). Public servants that actually wanted and delighted in serving all people are greatly missed.
