Senator Franken has represented the state of Minnesota since 2009. He serves on several committees, including the Judiciary; Energy and Natural Resources; Indian Affairs; and Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions. Before entering the political scene, Senator Franken was a popular “Saturday Night Live” writer and featured player, comedian, and radio talk show host.

It was so interesting, and a little nostalgic, to watch this in November 2021. I grew up in Minnesota and so feel an affection for it and its most humorous Senator.
I hope Senator Franken will consider returning to public service. In the meantime I enjoy his podcasts

Yeah, he was so funny as Stuart Smalley on snl exemplifying weakness and idiocy. He was only funny when he was a part of Franken and Davis. After they split he failed as a comedian. He failed exactly like Dean Martin did in The Caddy when Martin broke up with Jerry Lewis. That's an analogy, but true. Martin didn't fail, and neither did Lewis after their break up, but Franken did after Franken and Davis split. He's been desperate to remain relevant.

The SC election tells a different story.
For many years - he claimed he could "get it done" better than most_to_all that were serving in government... While he was there serving in government, he put the "proof in the pudding" by:
1) answering the phone
2) keeping a feedback loop
3) and doing the job that "of the people" had to do
If Franken ran again in MN he knows he would win. Hope he does.
I know right, I'll need to run for Senate or they should appoint him to hit up some agency in the federal government as soon as possible. Hell make him Joe biden's press secretary
From the first time I listened to Al Franken speak I wanted this wise and gentle man to become president of our country, and I still have this desire. He has all the qualities that makes him a great leader, at the time we desperately need his skills.

I , unfortunately , missed this show when it first aired. But I'm really happy that I found it ; even though I'm Quite a few years late. I think AL Frankin is a Brilliant man. And should've Never removed himself from the Senate. That joke that he said was just NOT scandalous enough for him to be asked to resign from his U.S. Senate Seat ! He was unique in the way he would "sometimes" use comedy as a sort of humorous tool when in discussions with fellow Senator's. I'd say at least 75% of his constituents were just Fine with a little humor. I can't stress enough how much I admire Al Frankin. And , I have to admit , I absolutely LOVE when he speaks about ted cruz. And the heartless , un-compassionate , and extreme-ignorance he reflects in the Senate.
AL Frankin in a "One of a kind" , intelligent man.
Wish he would try to return to the Senate. 🙏

I worked on the recount for AL when he ran against Norm Coleman in 2009 . It was worth it. Coleman did nothing for the people. AL is a great representative of the Minneapolis area people. And us minnesotans swear just like he does.
