Led Zepplin's song "Kashmir" is simply iconic. The guitar rifts played by the iconic Jimmy Page is masterclass, the vocals of Robert Plant with his blues touch unbeatable and drums of John Bonham magic not to forget and probably most underestimated bassist John Paul Jones was magnificent. There is no way The Beatles would have or will ever beat Led Zepplin in these aspects.

The British did well in rock because we loved the Blues band origins and didn't have Jim Crow suppressing it. In fact pink Floyd comes from Pink Anderson and Floyd Council
Where QUEEN was the ROCK OPERA group, PINK FLOYD was the ROCK CLASSICAL group with vocals. Meaning their music was like a modern day version of Classical music such as composers lick BACH, Beethoven and Mozart and many others. As much as I like Queen, PINK FLOYD is far better on so many levels. I understand that Freddy has a Remarkable voice, however PINK FLOYD can transport your mind, heart and soul thru the depth of their music and their Lyrics were very deep and meaningful and can if studied open your mind to so may things.

Usually, Sting played electric bass (a.k.a. bass guitar) - but on this song, he played standup bass (a.k.a double bass, bass fiddle, and bass violin) - the left-hand fretboard positions on both the bass guitar and standup bass are the same.

In a relatively short period of time how did so many iconic & hugely influential bands all emerge from one little island country? Good Lord, what an unlikely concentration of stellar talent and timing.....The Beatles, The Stones, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Who, Queen....For my money Led Zeppelin (in their early prime) remain the greatest rock band that ever stepped on a stage. The Kinks - Waterloo Sunset
Pink Floyd - Shine on you crazy diamond (live version)
Moody Blues - Nights in White Satin (live version)
Procol Harum - A Whiter shade of pale (version with Danish National Orchestra)
The Beatles impact is the biggest. I mean, till this day if we go to Paul's concert, for example, you'll have kids, teen, adults and old folks. It's ageless.
You should react to the 2012 London Olympics Opening Ceremony. If you want the most British culture in one hit, that's the thing to watch.
You'd need to edit it a lot though, it's a long thing. Maybe react in sections? You'd probably enjoy it and have questions about it though.
Yes this!! 🙌👌
Definitely!!!!
Closing Ceremony was the pop culture gig.
Britain will always have the best music in the world
No-John Lennon didn't just die- he was murdered in NYC by a jerk still in jail. And for the Police- the drummer, Stewart Copeland is American (his Dad CIA head of Lebanon station in 1970s). But that video you showed was slanted . No Small Faces or The Faces, no Cream, no Eurythmics, no 10cc, no Deep Purple, no Mott the Hoople, no Traffic, no Joe Cocker, no Average White Band, no Nazareth, no Dire Straits, no Humble Pie, no Mike Oldfield, no Yardbirds... please! THIS was the British Invasion. US rock started to phase out when Pat Boone (we called him Pat Prune) sang Little Richard songs. Then the 10 your video showed plus the dozen or so I mentioned re-invigorated Rock starting in about 1964. Thank goodness. Greetings from only a partly biased Canada. Peace and be safe. (but I AM a new Sub and like for you... you were honest)
Sting not from London either, He's a Geordie.
You need to react to the full 20 minute Queen set at Live Aid in Wembley 1985! It’s the best thing you’ll see!
An iron maiden was an instrument of torture in medieval times. It was a standing case with spikes in that they could push in an inch at a time
One of my favourite of your videos so far! Love to see you so enthusiastic and rightly so!
Try any of these, queen at Live Aid, and pink Floyd's 'comfortably Numb' live at earls Court, London 94' these 2 will blow your mind. ❤️
They really won't!
Queen at live aid redefined live performances. The guys on after them said “how the fuck are we supposed to follow that!”
Led Zep playing Since I've been Loving You at Madison Square Garden (featured in the movie The Song Remains the Same).
The Beatles deserve their place at number one regarding impact in the music industry but personally Led Zepplin is my favorite as total band vocally and technically. There is no way The Beatles would have or will ever beat Led Zepplin in these aspects.
Jakes Pretorius : Musically and technically Yes in their pomp were a far better band than Led Zeppelin, who were great, very much about excess, but let’s be clear, a lot of their iconic songs were rip offs
and Sinve ive been loving you especialy thelive versions from the MSG ‘75
@@howardjones7370
It all comes from the Blues. The only difference with Led Zeppelin was that they didn’t give credit where credit was due. Only after some of the bluesmen took them to court did they give them credit.
Dark Side of the Moon y Pink Floyd stayed in the top 40 for 2 years - unheard of! One of the greatest albums ever!
It stayed in the US top 100 for nearly 40 years
@@xtraspecial4677technically top 200, but yes!
I think when he says "acid rock" for Pink Ployd he's saying you just sit back for an hour and soak in their music while your stoned out of your mind. Been there done that.
The Rolling Stones. Of the original line up from the early 60's, 2 members have died. Brian Jones in July 1969, replaced in the band by Ronnie Wood, and the drummer Charlie Watts who died only a few months ago. All the rest are alive and well and still rocking.
Brian Jones was replaced by Mick Taylor. And Taylor was replaced by Ronnie Wood
I'm convinced Keith Richards sleeps in a hibernation cocoon and drinks the blood of baby kittens, the dude has looked 60 years old for the last 50 years. (/s since this is the internet and no one understands exaggeration and sarcasm anymore)
The second British invasion early 1980`s is sometimes forgotten then you look at the groups that spawned from this decade forming in the late 1970`s and struck gold in the later decade Duran Duran,Depeche Mode, The Human League and the Cure of whom all had hits and are still progressing over 40 years later.
You are fabulous girl. Your energy and enthusiasm is infectious. Made me smile watching this. Thank you!! Keep on going and being you ❤
@stephaniewragg5727 Are You her Mum ? Or maybe on glue.
I was around when Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple etc were starting. Before that my favourite was Hendrix (American).
Wow
Hendrix had to come to Britain to make it.
'The British Invasion' began with The Beatles in 1964. Music was never the same after that! lol.
The Beatles is still to this day even far more influencial than Michael Jackson, and Whitney Houston
Dont even compair Fleetwood mac to Pink Floyd until you have gone down the Pink Floyd rabbit hole first. My top Three Bands are Led Zeppelin, YES and Pink Floyd. Pink Floyd being #1 It should be a crime to call Pink Floyd ''over hyped'' Dont be stupid
EXACTLY!
I’m begging you so hard properly listen to some pink floyd before judging 😩😂❤️
The British did well in rock because we loved the Blues band origins and didn't have Jim Crow suppressing it. In fact pink Floyd comes from Pink Anderson and Floyd Council
The Kinks only getting a honorable mention is scandalous.
I'm baffled how excited you were over The Beatles yet you don't even know the names of John Lennon and Yoko Ono.
How can you say something is overhyped when you've never heard it????
I'm surprised 'Simple Minds' didn't even reach the 'honorable mentions', they have some incredible anthemic songs.
Cause they're pish, and their lead singer, Juan, is a fanny.
'The Asian woman' was Yoko Ono, John Lennon's wife. John didn't 'pass on', he was assassinated over 40 years ago, in New York. A great loss to the world
Not really.
It may surprise you to know that the Rolling Stones are still rocking it out and have been doing so since the early 1960s.
I'm sad for your soul if you don't get some Pink Floyd in your life. I have to hear them everyday. Emotional band. Masterclass musicians. Zep & Floyd.
The Prodigy is also a British band.
Adam is now the front man of Queen when the band tours xx
Yes, he also did a excellent cover of a Zeppelin song Whole Lotta Love when he was on American Idol. ruclips.net/video/BcdjaU5zrCQ/видео.html&ab_channel=AdamLambertBrasil
When u start listening to Pink Floyd, and u get into their songs. Then u can't get out from Pink Floyd. U will get into their songs forever coz Pink Floyd is more addicted than drugs..❤❤❤
"A MULLET ON A WOMAN!"
It was the 80s...that was the least of anyone's fashion offences.
I can’t believe you didn’t know Coldplay are British.😂
Of course they’re British.🙏🏾🇬🇧
Easily the most amazing Led Zeppelin tribute is Stairway to Heaven performed by Heart (Live at Kennedy Center Honors) for Obama in 2012. The late Bonham's son played the drums. It's a "must-see".
If you play stairway to heaven in a guitar shop, you get fined.
The instrument Sting is playing in "Every Breath You Take" is a bass. Sting was the bass player for the Police. Usually, Sting played electric bass (a.k.a. bass guitar) - but on this song, he played standup bass (a.k.a double bass, bass fiddle, and bass violin) - the left-hand fretboard positions on both the bass guitar and standup bass are the same.
On a point of order, Josh, there are no frets on a Double Bass, my friend 😉
@@andrewtongue7084 true, but the finger positions are the same.
Indeed they are, Josh
No dear, Mick Jagger is not dead - he's an alive and kicking great- grandfather 🙃 That's rock 'n' roll 🤭
The Asian woman - I think you mean Yoko Ono, John Lennon's wife 🤔
Just to upset you did you realise 'Every move' is a song of stalking
The Police are amazing. I got to see them in concert in 2008. I suggest listening to "Spirits in a Material World"
english bands were more inventive .all the 70 "guitars "gods "were english even hendrix had to go to englandto start his own career they reinvented rock music from metal to rock symphonic
You are dead right about The Beatles. This vid plays fast and loose with where the bands are from, if they are not sure, they just say ‘London’. Pink Floyd (from Cambridge) didn’t have a hit with Apples. No, they had a hit with a song about a man who stole underwear off washing lines!
Jude was the nickname of John Lennon’ son Julian. Hence the song “Hey Jude”. I’m 70 and my favourite band growing up was the Rolling Stone.
The beatles owned the 60s. Led zeppelin owned the 70s
The Who owned the 70s as well.
@@WhateverClips1 and Floyd
The fact that the stone roses, pulp, blur and even arctic monkeys weren't mentioned at all, even in the honourable mentions is basphemous
The video would be to long if you had all the🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧 greatest bands on 😂
Agree
Especially considering fucking Coldplay were
They missed mentioning Fleetwood Mac. Another one of the greatest English bands ever.
Glad to see you back AG. You haven't popped up on my feed for a while 😊
Zeplinn Sabath Purple status quo, Queen the who Kinks, Floyd, Police, Bowie, roxy music, Beatles, rolling stones, Mike oldfield(tubular bells fame), genasis (phil collins), (Even the lead singer with the Monkeys was a lad from manchester england), just to name a few, all british super stars from the 70's
British Invasion had nothing to do with World War it was what the influx of British Bands popularity in the USA
The who were mods (we were bikers so they were our enemies). The British invasion was the music invasion from the Beatles on. The Stones are British.
We are the mods
Pink Floyd is my favourite band of all time. Absolute Legends
you should react to Stereophonics, they are a Welsh rock band and they are sooooo underrated
The greatest British band ever has to be the Bee Gees and the worst has to be Oasis.
@@daveboy1247 the Bee Gees are from Australia

I'm so shocked you didn't think Coldplay was British. Literally everyone in the world knows Coldplay as british, they sing with british accents xD
So many factual errors - Pink Floyd are from Cambridge, not London. Led Zeppelin are from the West Midlands, not London. etc, etc.
“How did you Brits get a prim and proper image if you created all this rock?” It’s called THE CLASS SYSTEM.
90% of the British singers do not have ascents when they sing.
No one ever mentions the Small faces , Amazing
Weren’t really known in America
I can generally tell from listening if a band is British or from the US....apart from Whitesnake...they fooled me.
From the sound of the music, I originally thought 'The Killers' were British....🤷
@@MrRjhyt Haha that's another one...me too. Happy Xmas :)
The Police were considered reggae at the time.
i can definitely hear reggae touches in a lot of their music
We gave you so much more than Queen, although you can't bring yourself to admit it.
Yes, ZEPPELIN'S music was very different. They truly were not trying to fit in.
Zep-I knocked most rock fans (& musicians) on their a** when released in '69 & it sounds every inch as vibrant and powerful today.
The continuing relavations of Britishness and your reactions have got you a new follower !
The Who best live band of all time and it`s not even close the royality of rock consisted of The Beatles, the Rolling Stones and The Who. Bands that came later like Queen were considered second tier acts.
The honourable mentions should have included Jethro Tull.
Great video
Lots of memories, seen a few of the group's live Inc Led Zeplin at Knebworth 1978. First festival at 15 years old, was so exciting.
I'm sure I saw you there...some little kid looking overwhelmed...😂..Ahhh! they wre the days.....Peace brother ✌️🐝
79
@Rocker Jim Ok, your probably right ,79 then, was a long time ago.
There's a huge range of bands that didn't even get a mention - Jethro Tull would be one and, purely for "Bittersweet melody", the Verve would be another.
Then there are the seminal ones that led to other much better known bands.
