Great review of the Diptyque 77s. I prefer the design of these over the Magnepans. Their size make them direct competitors with the Magnepan LRS+ but, their price point is way higher. With Manepan due to release their new ULtra Wide Band subwoofers it would potentially be better value to buy a set of LRS+ with matching Magnepan subwoofers. The Magnepans are, however, nowhere nearly as well made as the 77s. 🤔🤓
hello, very good video on the Diptyque. I have a question about your setup. Have you connected 1 (or 2) Sub. Rel with the Diptyque 77 to get low frequencies? thank you for your feedback.
I used 1 rel T7 sub in the set up , the T7 is the sweet spot for me when it comes to the rel subs , more than enough for this diptyque system , don't get me wrong I would love to hear 2x T7s lol but again one sounds great
I auditioned the Diptyque..or pronounced Dip-teak. Not dip-ti-q at an audio store in Maryland. I cannot figure out what this guy is on but the 77’s and 107’s did not impress. Now everyone has different tastes and hear things differently. This reviewer is WELL over exaggerating. The ‘77’s when my friend and I were listening were sited in chairs that almost touch the floor. The speakers themselves are low to the floor and despite the”pivot” option of the 77 lose there sound when you stand up. Everything was gone. The bass response was good but nothing IMO to roar about. The overall sound with both the 77 and 107 for me and my friend did not compare to my Magnepan 1.7i’s. I am not a life long Magnepan fan…in fact I have only had Maggies for several months. IMO I am thankful for the music coming from my 1.7’s and have no intention of changing. Yes I was curious but I satisfied my curiosity.
This is french...the way you pronounce it is diptik. I heard the model higher up DP107. I was impressed that I bought the dp160 with external crossover. This used to be the top model before the new Reference came out
@@FatpigeonAudioReviews I promise you…you will like it. But if you want yo be mesmerized …ask to audition the dp160 with the external crossover. You will be in heaven! I kid you not …it’s an experience you must listen to!
I love dipole speakers and would love to hear these as well, but the price point of the Diptyque speakers puts them up against the much larger Magnepan speakers. The smaller and especially the larger Magnepans, would likely kill the Diptyque's in a price to performance ratio.
LOL . . . pronounced Deepteek not Deep T Q . . . although I do admire your enthusiasm, you might go a little easier on the caffeine before you come "on stage" for your helpful videos LOL
excellent review, your energy is a breath of fresh air in audio reviews
🙂very energetic review. The speakers look amazing.
Great review, ignore anyone negative as your a great reviewer
Great review Gareth. I was very impressed with these when i was in store, a tremendous speaker!

The Maggies .7 on paper go down to 45 hz , LRS+ go down to 50 h. The Maggies are a lot cheaper. And narrower.
Nice review. It's dip-tik btw.
No, it is Dip-teak.

I will stick with my Soundlabs which sound much better more natural and less hi-fi which gives me a headache.
Size may be an issue for some.
A newbie in the world of planar speakers?
In my opinion, your hyperactive and exaggerating presentation needs to be toned down a bit 😀
Agree - see my comment above in which I suggest that he goes a little easier on the caffeine before presentation LOL
